  • Episode 1 of In Search of Giants: Dr Brian Cox takes us on a journey through the history of particle physics. In this episode we learn that the Greeks knew about atoms and how Mendeleyev's periodic table was among the first clues that the atom had a deeper structure.

    History said that people have been trying to understand this complicated world that we have. The limited tools that were available before didn't hinder scientists to discover more. Through out the time, people are still trying to answer the questions. In this time, a lot of machines were invented. It is great to know that people didn't stop trying and that there has been progress in understanding our world better. -GabutanCHEM81EB1

    Thanks to alchemy, we still see some magical traces of chemistry manifested by smokes, bubbles, and color changes in the reactions. The Greeks were pure genius! Especially Democritus - the concept of atomos. (For classroom purpose: This is Nikko Galarrita - XE)
