Let me know when Adamantium and Mithril are created
+Andrew Drow dont forget runeite
+Andrew Drow and vibranium
+robieb0i Runite has magical properties though.
wasn't there dragon ore as well
+ProLeopardx1 no, those were dropped from bosses.
Less than a thousand of a second? "We did i- damn...there it goes"
Seems about right 😂
+señortipton Logic kills, bro :D
+Gabriel Rej Rather: 1/200* W... damn, there it goes.
You mean "Has it gone?, Wait you mean it lasted more than a nano second. We've broke History!!!"
Ommgg i like itttttt
Prehistoric times "let s bash rocks together" >>> 2016 "let s bash atoms together"
+Dantick09 Just think of them as really tiny rocks.
+Dantick09 Generations later "lets bash stars together"
Dantick09 10 generations later:
WE BASH UNIVERSES TOGETHER
Similarly , Pyromania started civilization . Because we like to burn every thing , we would throw all kinds of stuff into the fire and some of it melted into solid metal starting the metal ages . Burn it Burn it Burn it heh heh he lol .
2018, lets eat tide pods
call 115 Lazarium (I don't say its aliens but aliens)
Yeah name it after me 😉
awww I was gonna say something similar.
Ancient aliens
Bob Lazar the greatest human scientist to let the world know about it.
You have to add 1 proton for it to work
The element created by the Japanese team should have been called 'Godzillium'.
predacon95 its a joke dude
Lil
Stable Element 115 is my favorite because it can be used to produce antigravity waves which are great for bending spacetime
Matt Rusin Gravity A waves , when amplified 😁
You are telling like its to handy
“Yeah great for bending spacetime and stuff”
And flying around at light speed. 😜
Element 115, zombies bring it on
Hell ya
Carbon Fiberzs now all we need is a german nazi scientist, american soldier, russian drunk and japanese warrior
+Alex Swinden lel
+Alex Swinden what about Divinium, that's what Dr. Monty calls it
+Angel Frechel (Mr-Sandwich-)
And a native dressed in those cultural mask and with a mask
Youtubium. It would have the lifespan of a dank meme. Mwahahahaha!!
So, about a year?
That is already a thing except it is called Twitch Chat.
+Alex Luna
Twictchatiam
+louisalectube Cancerium
+louisalectube cringe
IUPAC announced the 4 elements last month (Nov. 28, 2016) by given their names:
Nihonium (Nh - 113)
Moscovium (Mc - 115)
Tennessine (Ts - 117)
Oganesson (Og - 118)
I memorized the periodic table for fun back in 6th grade we never had to do it for class
+Will Leonard NERDDDDDDD (i joke... nerds are best)
+Will Leonard wow what student doesnt have anything to do in 6th grade?! wtf
so true... but how will u have kids so u dont die alone if u dont have girls that friendzone you?! A RUclips Commenter BTW "free time" = gaming time its sad but true...
+Will Leonard i had to learn the first 20 in secondary 2 and now that i am in university i have to remember all of their names, propreties and other information, its a call in itself
It may be beneficial though when you get to high school and try on A.P. chemistry.
115 shall be called dividium
+115_zombie_slayer Divinium*
I get that refrence..... Your refrence game on point
Element one one five is the zombie apocalypse
Yas.
It must have a tie to Zombies
+115_zombie_slayer well its ununpentuim acually
Can we name one of the new elements Unobtainium? That would be great.
best name ever :D
yasss
+Juan Nunez (Faded Endless) I doubt it, unobtanium is a theoretical name that scientists and engineers use to describe a material with properties we can't make yet.
and vibranium
+kunal pahuja Thiers a Plastic out their that Basically does the same thing as Vibranium I forget what it called though
My favorite element is mercury. As a young teen in high school in 1951, my science teacher gave me samples of different elements to use in the Museum of Science and Industry Science Fair in Chicago. I found the metal liquid amazing and played with it for hours. I learned a few years ago that a Chinese emperor had made an underground city with rivers of mercury to mimic water. I have also learned that mercury is dangerous to handle. I wonder if they have tried mercury with another element in their tests.
115 Should be called "LAZARINUM"
no it sould be called divinium. because in the COD: zombies storyline element 115 was called divinium like liquid divinium in BO3 is just element 115 liquefied
IT WOULD BE CALLED MOSCOVIUM.
Please fire the person who makes ye guys do the cheesiest intros on the Internet xD
I think they're goofy and endearing.
+Conor Pratt I agree
+Conor Pratt ...no one makes us. We're just really cheesy people, especially Julian.
+Julia Wilde oh my god you responded!! its okay I like cheese it tastes nice melted on bread
+Conor Pratt Oh sure noooow you're okay with it :P.
This is awesome! You knew they were there, and now we have people who've made em. Outstanding work, humanity.
I already know what element 115 does.
We do
I'm at a loss why they are even saying they are new they have been know about for years
+lasarith2 what do you mean?
+lasarith2 Wikipedia and all the Periodic table of elements posters I have bought have up to 118 on them so I don't get how they are new
+f4bulous if it's was 119 and up then I would be more excited
if it came and went so fast they should call it "prematurium"
Excellent video Julia. You communicated the ideas really well. Loved it.
We need to name one Lemmium.
+Neko Yuki There is actually a petition on change.org with +100k supporters for exactly that ;)
Mathias Müller
I know. I'm a supporter of it...
is that a reference to something. I want to know
Vig Ren Soul
To someone... Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister, a metal legend and lead singer/bassist of Motorhead, died on December 28th.
+darian payan Pliz sign the petition. Even if you don't know who he is, it'd be sick.
Do please let us know when they are considered sexist to women.
+A RUclips Commenter turning women away from STEM those shitlord elements
I feel like bromine is a cool element. An element you can have a beer with .
Nope. When you try to drink beer, it will say "Bro, it's mine..."
Na Bro I didn't get the joke Bro....
Sodium Bromine I didn't get the joke Bromine
I got so very excited about this!!
Praseodymium. Because I loved the way Carl Sagan pronounced it on the original 'Cosmos'.
How much will the elements dlc cost? and is there a season pass?
They have been in my chemistry book for more than 2 years wtf ?
I know!
Irk wtf
*x-file song plays*
+Penguin Gaming™ tun tun tun tun tun tuuuunnnnnnn
+Almonzer Fayyadh They were discovered a few years ago, but were "officially" added this week!
Brilliant, very happy this information is said.
Thanks!! I did`nt know this now I do. This will help me alot on a test!
I want to name one of them bareminimum. After own academic accomplishments.
+Lars Erik Volden Start a petition on change.org. There's already a petition for one of them to be called Lemmium (after Lemmy Kilmister). I signed it I'm so excited.
+Val B. Why the fuck would they name it that? And why are you excited for it?
These damn overrated, illogical ideas. No one will remember him in 20 years, so might as well just name it something worth it.
SPAAAAACE Twenty years or a thousand years. It doesn't matter. The fate of all things is to be forgotten. Everything will be lost. Every tower we build will crash down, every star you can count will burn out. Nothing is "worth it". It's all arbitrary, temporary and insignificant. Might as well name it after somebody you like.
Lars Erik Volden Couldn't have said it better.
Lars Erik Volden Emphasis on _you_. What about the people who want it to be named Mandella.
117 needs to be called Spartanium!
What a mouth full. And a brain full. How did you get through this video Julia?
THANKYOU FOR MAKING A VIDEO ON THIS I TOLD EVERYONE IN MY SCHOOL ABOUT IT AND THEY THINK IM WEIRD BUT IDC IM GUNNA MAKE MY TEACHER PLAY THIS FOR THE CLASS IDC IF THE STUDENTS DONT CARE I LOVE IT THANKS
I think it is completely ridiculous to say things like "We can use it to build things we never even dreamed of." How on earth can anyone make that claim? If we made a new stable element, there is no way to know for sure what its properties will be and how it behaves. It could be toxic and destructive for all we know.
Plutonium is both is those things and it can be used for energy.
Yes, but there a lot of other factors besides toxic and destructive. My point is, no one has any idea of the usefulness of an element that doesn't exist yet.
+Lachy Kyle elements are periodic and their properties can be predicted depending on where they are in the table. many elements have been accurately predicted before thanks to their repetitive nature.
+MattsMotorz she said "...maybe in the future..." the MAYBE word is important
I'd guess more for Energy Production or unlikely a Marvel Metal
BRING ME 115!!
As the number of protons in an atomic nucleus increase, the number of neutrons required to keep the element stable increases disproportionately.
As far as proton to neutron ratios go though, Tritium has the greatest number of neutrons per proton at 2:1. Being a light element though it doesn't really need that many. I do think that any future stable elements will have to be extremely heavy, as the range of the strong force weakens with distance. The protons are constantly prying the nucleus apart, thus requiring more neutrons to help better cancel out the proton's repulsive tendency.
Alternatively, one could introduce the use of Strange Quarks, of which may also increase the stability of nuclei by reducing the amount of space between baryons, allowing the strong force to interact with nuclei.
interesting and very informative, amazing videos
*boom*117, *boom*118, *boom*blackhole.......................
idk why I find tho funny
😂😂😂😂
that's not how it works though...
+max steel Scientist: DAMMIT, WE DUN FUCKED UP!!!
+dequan clarke this*
+max steel That's exactly how it works! Buuuut, the black holes generated are too tiny to do anything, and they cannot survive, even with all of the mass of the particles they spark through the particle accelerator they can't make a black hole that is going to suck up the world (Sorry for my bad english).
Um, anyone else worried about Element 115?
This is amaizing, I hope can live until we find that new stable element!
Well seems like it is time to bother my chemistry friend to get his thoughts on this. it's exciting to see just how much of an impact this might have on future projects.
my fav element- surprise
oh
oh
+rishabh bajpai I see whachu did dur...
+Alex Luna its 2016
+Fallen Exe lol shrek hasnt been funny since early 2014
Sheldonium as in Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory. Ahh love that show. :D
Love your videos...
Favorite element would have to be Bismuth.
Would be cool if you could do a video about bismuth, and crystal growing in general.
FUN FACT: you're most likely to get bitten by new yorker more than shark.
wut
Schrödinger's Dog The rate of deaths of new yorker bites is 100,000,0 and sharks 1.
Yet Only one was Radio Active 😉
+OTTOMAN EMPIRE 1 be hard for them she's been dead for several years now -the Punny isn't funny for me
Carbon is my favorite on the periodic table just for the simple fact that all life is based on carbon
Neodymium
Osmium
I'm so Glad you mentioned the Island of Stability! I hunger for the day we find it!... *cough* i mean, I'm cautiously optimistic. :)
How are they new "elements" when they break down into isotopes of other elements?
all elements break down. these just have really short half life's because the larger the element the more unstable tho has exceptions
***** keep in mind these are atomic nuclei which are smallest units of matter so the larger the more unstable because these are single nuclei. To even create the element they needed to combine elements and it would be created for short amounts of time hence Julia mentioning leaving the so called "island of stability" (nice name btw)
Well it's a new element before it breaks off into other simpler elements.
+ken mac Every single element with atomic number higher than that of lead (82 Pb) breaks down into other isotopes of other elements. It's what radioactivity is. When a very large atom nucleus is unstable, so it breaks down into a smaller nucleus in order to become stable. Regardless of what (radioactive) element it is, it will always end up breaking down into another element.
My favourite element is OXYGEN. I like it so much I can't live without it.
Robin Kenny Then why do you convert it into carbon dioxide?
@@logicalpakistani3783 you're confusing the oxygen molecule O2 with the oxygen atom, O. Carbon monoxide still has 2 oxygen atoms even though it's a different gas.
Does anyone else get the shower curtain joke?
I think it's a Big Bang theory one
+lasarith2 no, she has a showercurtain on wich there is a periodic table. Many people have one of them. :D
Yes, just like in the big bang theory
+Immanuel M. Eames periodic table is on the shower curtain. It needs to change because there are new elements.
+Downton 654 They're not NEW ELEMENTS. They are called UNOFFICIALLY NAMED ELEMENTS. :D
I almost surely remember that the periodic table was filled to 118 elements in the chemistry book when I was in middle school. That was in 2009. So why did it take so long till they were added "officially", what ever the hell that even means.
These have been known for a long time and have been put on many periodic tables for a while now
element 115 is called ununtanium. Ununtanium is like a super conductor. When constructed in a coil, the amount of electronic conduction is so strong, it creates a reverse magnet effect, similar polarities, and actually can make the object applied, levitate. The problem is it would need a super conductor too large for the object applied
Turn on captions for more information. For example, at 2:34 the phrase "Five years ago" is skipped in the video itself. Another one: immediately after that "in Dubna, Russia" is skipped also.
In some books/sites the new 4 elements were already in the periodic table for years
what camera u guys use? its REALLY SHARP
This was cool.
May I suggest a new name for one of the elements? Herpaderrpa!
Guys there is a petition to call one of the new heavy metals Lemmium in memory of Lemmy Kilmister. SPREAD THE WORD!
I remember my high school chem instructor say "we know these elements exist, but we haven't found them yet". When I heard that I thought, how the H do they know they exist if they haven't been found. I don't understand that. But then again, few people really understand chemistry.
as a physics nerd I absolutely loved this video, Dnews does this right!
also obligatory black ops zombies hype
@02:48, it doesn't decay into new isotopes, it decayed into new elements with different proton number
113: Feltrite
115: Divinium
117: Unobtainium
118: Adamantium.
No, no, no.
They would be called:
113: Nihonium
115: Moscovium
117: Tennessine
118: Oganesson.
C! Thanks for the video
Funny how me and my father were talking about elements the day before this was uploaded that haven't been discovered yet.
Could someone explain why the abbreviations vary, e.g. Nh Nihon vs. Uuo (element 118) and others that follow ? Thank you kindly in advance.
I'd say an infinite amount of elements exist. You just need to find a way to fuse them regardless of how difficult it may be.
They take on new forms AND are impossible because it's logical that a new part of an atom changes the way it functions.
Just most cannot be stable by logic.
some scientists say that the table ends at 173, because the electrons would have to orbit the nucleus at faster than the speed of light.
that, and the possibility that at one point, the half-life becomes so short that the nucleus cannot even have the time to form an electron cloud around it. if the nucleus is truly incapable of forming an electron cloud before it disintegrates, or if its’ half-life is shorter than the time takes for an electron cloud to form, then it cannot form a complete atom, and since elements are made of atoms of itself only, it therefore cannot be considered an element.
I thought we knew about these for a long time, and they are on most of the periodic table. But I have that shower curtain too!
How do you measure the amount of proton and neutrons in the "new elements" in that amount of time?
When I typed interactive periodic table those 113 115 117 118 (new) ones came up months ago so, how are they new?
way to awesome
This broad just introduced me to Atractium. My new fav element.
3:16 "No Theoretical Limit to How big elements can get."
The Pauli-exclusion principle kind-of puts a limit on nucleus size. Fermions (protons and neutrons) must inhabit different states inside the nucleus. Once the lowest energy states are filled up, protons and neutrons must occupy higher energy states, making the nucleus less stable, and more likely to decay.
You can make heavy elements, but they aren't going to be stable.
I still don't get what that stability thing would enable us to do or why.
My favorite element is Julia :)
whenever i think element 115 i always think of bob lazar.
if for some astronomical miracle he turns out to be right it should be named after him(Lazarium), if he's wrong well name it after the person who discovered it or first theorized about it.
anyone know what the periodic table looks like the rows added?
So they finally decided they were elements? Can't wait to see what we discover in my lifetime. If I'm lucky, the next new element will start to have well-known properties before I'm too old to remember that fact... But who knows, we might see growth in the field in as little as 20 years if we're lucky enough.
>new
you mean recently given credence to existing and now are working on getting named by the respective organizations.
I heard of each I already know everything about them XD even got a detailed explanation about them.
I memorized the periodic table in grade 2 no joke. I was interested in it from the first time I saw it.
I love how they didn't mention 115 at all. The element that was mentioned BY NAME by bob lazar almost 40 years ago. lol
I really need to get me some of that eezo for my FTL drive. My baby momma live on Kepler 186f.
Carbon is my favorite, though it is common it is the building for a large number of compounds including life itself.
I freaking swear, at least *one* of them needs to be "Surprise."
I was wondering what would make an atom stable. Do the quarks balance the nucleus out? Can you make a new element using pressure? I don't really understand what is going to acheive stability. Has anyone ever made a stable useful amount of an element or is this research still in its infancy.
Island of Stability: Top candidate for the new "Philospher's Stone" XD
What are ramification of finding the island of stability?
What does that mean?
Channeling Organic Chemistry Lecture.... "Four Bonds to Car-bon.... Ohlm......."
Carbon is my favorite as it has entire branches of Science and discover dedicated to it.
Haven't those been out for a while? I remember looking up element 115 from world at war in like 2009. And I remember them going up to 118.
+zxcvbnmjfjf Nope, they just got discovered. You might have seen the Janet-left step periodic table
That's why I don't get it either they have been waiting for Official names for years so ?
Element 115 was discovered in 2004. Element 112 in 1996, 117 in 2009, 118 in 2006. They were only confirmed recently, due to enough data and convincing evidence.
+zxcvbnmjfjf thank you🙂
element 113 (unutrium) is now called nihomium
element 115 (unupentium) is now called moscovium
element 117 (unuseptium) is now called tennesine
element 118 (ununoctium) is now called oganneson
I would name them Protokonium, Sanctumonium, Vulkanium, Kryptonium. You're the best looking nerd I have seen on YT.
can you explain how they name these thing and why its so complicated?
They changed it in december of 2016.
element 113 = Nihonium
element 115 = Moscovium
element 117 = tennessine
Element 118 = Oganesson
I can remember the entire periodic table without problem and without looking at the periodic table
WOW!
Electropositives are essential to my line of work.
:)
so much for what we learned at high school...
What?!?! I don't understand. I have always had these four elements on my Periodic Table, with there names underneath them, and at 0:56 you even show one of the "new" elements, Ununtrium.
My favorite element at the moment is Ar, that is, argon. Reason I like it? I have a tank of argon gas in my garage, waiting for me to use it to shield the metal I am welding. Welding raises the temperature of metal so high that the presence of oxygen can cause the metal to start burning! To avoid that, we bathe the weld area in a stream of argon gas. Argon is one of the inert gases. It cannot support burning. The argon stream keeps oxygen away from the area being heated for welding.
The most amazing thing is that one of the elements (I think 113) was created in Japan, so they have the rights to name it. Perhaps they can name it 'Japonicium' and finally bring J to the periodic table.
Nd, otherwise known as Neodymium, Is my favorite element.
Yeah because of its strongest magnets🤩
