I'm not sure about the Suburus, but most engines that come with turbos have forged pistons to handle the higher compression ratios created by turbos. Where as the stock engine don't have forged pistons. Just something to keep in mind when adding a turbo to a stock engine.
Yes this is true also with Subaru engine I've seen in the past so I'm not sure how long a non turbo engine would last maybe with the tiny turbos on all cars these days it may work
the stock na 2.5, and 2.2 blocks have around the same cylinder wall thickness as an ej205, it's actually pretty strong, it's just most people turbo it at way to high of pressure with no engine management and it blows up
Dirtcheapdaily yup, that's another big killer. I'm running a phase 1ej22 block with phase 2 ej22 heads. It's a cheap but proven reliable method in lowering the comp. It brings it down to something like 8:1

I know you're doing a very very budget setup but maybe grab some plywood to set stuff on when you're not using it. I'm sure you wouldn't, but you don't want to accidentally get a leaf in your uppipe lol
sweep up the dry leafs first mate anyway good video been a Subaru known issues with design flaw in the head gasket having to change it eventually anyway tuboing it will probably be a good investment

Hey bud, the ring should come off when you're doing mechanic stuff. Ever heard of de-gloving? It's when the skin on your finger is further away from the bone and the rest of your finger than it usually is. Let your imagination run nuts with that; it's pretty awful.
