Since I started making these videos in 2017, I have been lucky enough to receive the support of some manufacturers with materials to use in my videos. Since May 2018, Chestnut Products have provided me with stains, an iridescent paints sample set, lacquers and waxes. I'd like to thank them for their kind and generous support. Martin Saban-Smith has provided me with a sample set of Intrinisic Colours.
All other products and tools, unless where indicated, have been bought from suppliers at retail prices. Products mentioned in my videos are for information purposes so that viewers know what I have used.
You do have the most excellent voice for narration, Stewart. It makes the viewing of the videos that much more entertaining!
Thanks, Allen - glad you enjoy them! Cheers!!
Hello Stewart, Yes, I've got one too. I only turn wood for pleasure and this jig gives the sort of stability that enables a pleasurable experience to exist. Now, "Serious " turners might prefer a more gung-ho, hands on approach, but not me. Live and come through the other end alive; that's one of my many self preservation style mottos. Of course, the gung-ho style does make for a good spectator sport. . . . Regards, Glenn. :-)
Thanks, Glenn - it's a fab bit of kit
Hollowing system still on my want list. But like you, I take forever to put a purchase into use. So I should be doing deep hollowing in about 3-4 years! LOL! Good to know you like the system.
It's a great system! Thanks, Valerie
Hi Stewart, Great video. I have the Vicmarc V00475 Hollowing Rig, which I actually bought from Simon, and also the Simon Hope Laser light. I have used it a couple of times and it makes hollowing so much easier for me. Whenever I have tried to do it "by hand" I end up getting terrible catches and give up on the piece. Take care Stewart. Cheers, Huw
Cheers, Huw! I'm looking forward to using it some more...
It seems it's a very interesting tool to use thanks Stewart for sharing always help for choosing the right tool thanks again and bye until the next demo bye.
It sure is, Laurence - great to use. Cheers!
Very nice piece... thank you again for sharing
Thanks, Jude!
Nicely done that man.
Cheers, Simon!
Great rig...maybe some day!
Fingers crossed!
Nice one Stewart, looks a nice bit of kit
Thanks, Gav - it is indeed. Very easy to use. Cheers!!
Love mine and it seems you do too Stewart.
Cheers
Mike
I do, Mike - must do some more with it soon!
I have a SH rig and love it. I’ve recently added a camera / screen based on eBay motorhome reversing camera parts. Wasn’t too expensive and managed to make arms from workshop scrap bin. Real game changer for even thickness walls.
Cheers, Simon - I'll be exploring camera options over the summer!
Interesting gadget, Stewart. I'm happy to see it helped finish this project. 💜
You and me both! It could become a habit!!
Brilliant demo mate
Many thanks, Barry! Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers!
Well done Stuart, I am jealous, looks very useful.
It is! Maybe I'll be able to bring it to one of the clubs for a demo sometime..soon....maybe.....who knows!
Great demo Stewart. You'll be getting the laser attachment next I take it. I must do a video soon featuring my homemade hollowing rig. I made it for just a few shekels as I don't have the spare cash to buy the Simon Hope rig which, IMO, is the best on the market.
Thanks, Miss Tee - you must! I've seen the pics you posted of it on facebook a while back....Cheers!
Nicely demonstrated Stewart 😊
Thank you kindly! Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers!
I like it, and am looking forward to some more hollow forms. I'm guessing you're already thinking about how to texture and color the inside through an itty bitty opening. I have faith.
Haha...I like your thinking, Bill....will put my thinking cap on
Funnily enough, I bought the Hope jig 2 weeks ago & no, I haven't had chance to use mine yet, either. Hopefully, it won't take me 2 years to put it in action, though!
Thanks, Steve - have fun with yours!
Looks good to me Stewart but I won't be buying one as I have a hope hand hollow tools and crown that are not over worked.😀👍👍
I know what you mean.....I should probably stop buying things!!
