    Absolutely gorgeous. Fantastic work, I love turning hollow forms but I don't think I'm ready to tackle a form on that scale. I will try something similar but smaller soon.

      Thanks for writing and feedback. With my system of tools and methods, that is easy, anybody can do it. Yes, practice on small scale pieces and work up to larger forms. But it is more fun to do smaller pieces.

    Just now watched this presentation, again thank you for taking the time to explain your approach as you do. I have been working on learning to use the hollowing system I purchased from you. This video was very helpful for me~I identified some mistakes I was making and gained a greater understanding of the process. I agree with the statement made by another~”...turned out pretty nice.” I agree that is a vast understatement. It is a beautiful work of art. I hope to one day to be able to get close to doing such work.

    "Turned out pretty nicely" -- massive understatement, Lyle. That's a beautiful vessel, with respect to both the burl and the form. Clyde

    Lyle can you give information on the cutting tools used. I have boring bars and I am interested in the head piece and cutters. Thank you in advance. Also very beautiful piece.

    • @Lyle
      @Lyle  4 года назад +1

      Hi Johnie, Nice top hear from you, thanks for the inquiry. The cutting tool I used was my Hunter carbide cutter made for my Hollowing system. To get the cutter it must be used in my system that its designed for. My boring bar and swivel assemblies are needed to hold the Carbide insert correctly. See my web site tool store for details and tool review videos of each component. Could you use my cutter in other systems, Yes. But they will not get the same results and might end up frustrating at best. Give me a call if you have any questions.
      I am also doing Live Interactive Remote Demonstrations on Zoom. Another resource to see the continuity of the entire process. The RUclips videos are only small parts or the process. Check out my website for details www.lylejamieson.com See it Live With Lyle.

    Excellent video tutorial, as always! Beautiful final result. I would just like to know what you used for a finish. Product, coats, application. Many, many, thanks!

    • @Lyle
      @Lyle  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Robert, sorry for the tardy reply. I use Watco wiping varnish and buffed with the Beall system. The finish used is not important. Preparing the wood for the finish is the critical trick to getting a good finish. Suggest you watch my Bowl Basics DVD for tool control and sanding techniques that will take your work to another level.

    Good video. My only recommendation would be to get rid of your 1970’s style shirts. We are about the same age and yes I use to wear similar things back in the day but we’re not in Kansas anymore.
