This recital is wonderful on so many levels. The vertical white on white shirt and socks a great touch. The Quint 3’ is a real bonus. Very nicely done, Balint. This is what students should study, striving for technique, interpretation, patience, timing and registration. Are we not all students?
Great to hear this work played with the fine articulation one would expect from a great harpsichordist on the organ. Not to mention the kind of detail that Leonhardt or Harnoncourt would have given us in cantata performances. Thanks, Balint, for another illuminating and exceptional performance. One should also mention (via the magic of the split-screen) the effortless Baroque pedal technique, which proves the almost exclusive use of toes (an exception being such chromatic passages as the opening of BWV 648, an arrangement of a movement from Cantata BWV 10, where heels are useful for adjacent chromatic notes) as the most sensitive way to articulate with the same sensitivity as one would using the fingers on the keyboard, with no loss of facility. These performances have the ring of real authenticity about them, in the best sense of giving us Bach unfiltered.
Beautiful sounds are made from your fingers. I can watch that's real. And I like watching how to play by your small performer. Even if I watch long time, maybe I'll not be suffur.
Personally, I am impressed by the restrained and even manner of performance, which is especially characteristic of Bach's choral preludes. Emotion is conveyed by expressive means, by endurance presentation of the musical fabric of the works.
This cycle has to be listened to a few times to really get the sense of what has been accomplished. As good as my references in a rather large collection of Bach's organ music. Very well presented Balint. A perfect choice of instrument, acoustic and registration. Crowned with masterful playing that is truly a reference for others to try and achieve.
Any nearby sheep had to be ecstatic if they heard the first chorale. More from that marvelous organ. Balint found a real gem there. He should go back and record a Bach CD on it. I can make one with my computer, but would want the best possible sound. From Chicago. U.S.A.
Ahhh... the great chorale of BWV645! Very well played...I love the styling! My wife, Zoe, and I had this as the bridal party procession at our wedding. We loved the connection between being called to "Wake!" for the Bridegroom coming for His bride, the Church. Plus it was a nice reminder for the congregation to "Wake!" as we had a morning wedding =)
Woawwwwww what's a wonderfull playing The first with 645 is little to fast May be slower we can hear more notes and more émotion Your 648 is absolutly perfect The best i Never hear Merci
in my opinion wachet auf is played as often unfortunatly little bit to fast :-( it is a text and a work with deep spirituality and mystic and not a thing for a figth who play it most fast. but its the only thing. ist also well played :-) for wo soll ich fliehen hin the tempo is more than perfect :-) BWV 647 is WER nur den lieben Gott - i think....
I couldn't disagree more. "Wachet auf" translates to "wake up", it is not meant to be a lullaby, very much the opposite. I quite like the virtuosic interpretation. I don't even think Balint is playing this particularly fast.
Given that it's a transcription where the melody was originally sung, this tempo is appropriate. It needs to be fast enough that you can get through the cactus firms phrases without running out of breath.
It's a hymn tune for a congregation to sing, ornamental accompanied by upper hand ornament probably composed at Bach's two manual pedal harpsichord..in his warm house. We students at Oberlin used to put words to the countrapuntal accompanient...
Tempi sound about right to me...but I'm a period performance guy. Don't have score but wondering why last note of each chorale line phrase seems cut short. ?? Ornamentation and pedal work is exquisite though!
Mais quel bonheur quelle joie d’écouter cette musique. L’interprétation est top de même que l’instrument...merci monsieur 😊
I wish I could like your playing more than once. I listen to your playing so often now. Thank you for all the uploads. Seeing is believing you know.
Best performance of BWV 645 on the internet!

Splendido strumento meravigliosa scelta dei registri
Bravissimo il maestro
Soli Deo Gloria
The "marriage" of these two melodies is one of the most ingenious moments in musical history, and Karosi does it just brilliantly.
What melodies? Could you provide a time-stamp please?

Exquisite instrument played by a virtuoso.
Truly magisterial
Ooh, pedal cams are my favourite thing in the world. Lovely performance - thank you!
Beautiful recording!!
Really good the choice of instrument (especially the warm sound of the 8'trumpet). Excellent performance in every respect.
Es esperanzador ver a un joven esmerarse en mostrar el arte que nos legaron los maestros de antaño ; excelente .

What a beautiful music. So much humanity and humbleness are embedded in this music.

Wonderful job. Controlled, expressive playing. The video quality is excellent. Thanks for offering this to the world.
I love your ornamentation Balint, expressive but not showy.
So many local churches have such wonderful organs. An inspiring performance by a young musician. Bravo! Bravo!
WOW , ¡ Bálint ! Como siempre gran maestro.⚘♥️⚘
Your playing makes the piece look effortless !

Always a great privilege listening to your performances.
God has given you enormous talent.
Hopefully someday, will spread his art in our country.

Beautiful playing and clear regisrations! All parts can be heard easily. Great sounding Opus 1 from Richards, Fowkes & Co.! Bravo!
My second listening is as brilliant as the first. The best part off watching is to see you having such fun playing.
Wonderful recording and wonderful instrument.

Amazing. These are so technically demanding. Played beautifully. Thank you for making your performance available for everyone to hear.
I love watching/hearing you play! Your vitality is something to emulate when I play Bach. Thank you!

Superb
wonderful
Such wonderfully neat articulation !
I love this piece! 💕🎼
I am new to organ music. Some stops I like and some I do not; the trumpet stop I do not like.
Is this a Richard and faukes organ, it reminds me a lot of one I played not that long ago at Villiage Presbyterian

Ein kleiner Fehler, aber Sie haben Recht. Das richtige Wort ist "nur", nicht "nun".
Given that it's a transcription where the melody was originally sung, this tempo is appropriate. It needs to be fast enough that you can get through the cactus firms phrases without running out of breath.
❤❤
This is apparently Richards, Fowkes & Co. (Opus 1, 1991). OHS database: pipeorgandatabase.org/organ/7980

@@markantolik3487 That's what's in the score.
Am I the only one who thinks it’s a bit stiff and rushed? I feel like this piece should be, for lack of a better word, “swung” a bit.
Dejlige smukke små orgelstykker og flot spillet.....
Der junge Mann denkt diese Stücke seien Exerzitien. Horrend!
