For anyone that is confused about the definition of the word review - a critical article or report; critique; evaluation. Sam gave her positives and negatives and what she would've personally done differently... this is a personal REVIEW OF A PRODUCT. Sorry to everyone commenting she's throwing shade, she's not, she gave all her personal opinions and at the end of the day it was a POSITIVE review for a company she normally is not a fan of so I don't know why anyone has their panties in a bunch.
Sarah Campbell I can't emphasize this enough. There's no way she would do bad swatches on purpose- there's no gain in that. She's allowed to have her own opinion. If people disagree with her, that's fine. Move along. Not to mention, most of the swatches that she said we're patchy she also said blended well on the eyelid. She didn't rip the pallette apart or anything.
Samantha Ravndahl love to see a non Morphe sponsored review!! Idk if you've already been told, but a couple of those glittery shades you used for the kid Jaclyn says you have to use a finger or very wet brush to get the real color pay off!
Halin Stepans completely disagree sadly. tati is honest when it suits her, like on drugstore reviews. but she raved about the Nikki Tutorials palette when it was crap.
Mira Aguirre I heard big beauty Guru's got a higher quality version of Nikkie's palette and then they just sold awful ones to the public, who really knows, im not a part of the drama and i didn't buy the palette. I dont have an issue with Tati i think she's honest on most things but RUclipsrs like Sam and Stephanie Nicole really go into depth when it comes to their reviews and regardless of the brand they're always pretty blunt about it and tell you exactly what you're getting for your money which I personally appreciate
I'll never understand why people get so pressed if swatches aren't good. You can clearly see that they perform well on the eyes, but people are worried about swatches? Are you going to wear this palette on your arm?
Carol D. Everyone's swatches are going to differ. Jaclyn wanted to show what the color would look like at its most opaque, whereas Sam wanted to show the colors in their "natural" state.
I had to Subscribe, she's the first beauty guru that has her shit so together it's separate. All the information is there, she's provided time stamps, she's price compared across the global market, swatched, done a tutorial and has given her honest opinion without associating. My hat is off to you girl! keep it up! x
John Fenn Stephanie Nicole is definitely the most honest RUclipsr to review products/brands. She gives a definite and thorough review of a product with hand/brush swatches. Different skin tone, shows how make up wears overtime, and is extremely professional.
Going to go with Stephanie Nicole as well. And Thataylaa. Totally trust both of them with everything. Stephanie leans more dry skin, Taylor is more oily if that matters to you.
Yep, I am definitely agreeing with the Stephanie Nicole recommendation. She just stood up for Samantha on IG in a huge way!! So much respect for her xx
It takes a brave confident person to be honest about this palette morphe and and Jaclyn hill. Good for u for not pretending all the shadows were jaw dropping! Respect u and this a lot. Thank u! Xo
I came to this video after seeing her twitter and seeing her defend herself, I am not subscribed (although I probably will after writing this) but I wanted to see why they were saying her review was so negative. I don't see it being negative at all, if anything it had a perfect amount of good and bad stuff just like any other product would have warranted. I think this was an exceptional review and one that I didn't know I needed but I'm glad I saw especially since I already purchased the palette lol.
Wtf are people taking from this...just because she's not gushing over the palette she's a 'hater'?! A completely fair and quite complimentary review. For perspective, in the UK we if we could buy the Modern Renaissance palette direct from a shop, it would be half the price of the JHxMorphe palette with shipping etc.
Leah I live in the US and was going to buy one of their liquid lipsticks for $12.99. Affordable, right? No. They wanted $7.95 to ship just one lipstick. Just one. Fuck that.
Leah morphe's shipping prices have def increased over time, i remember when i placed my 1st order with them, i only paid like $4. now its like 9$ to just ship some brushes!! 😬☹ #sucks i live in the US, so im sure the international shipping is ridiculous!!! i am grabbing this palette tho as i love Jaclyn hill, just hoping shipping doesn't kill me 🤔
THANK JESUS! A non Morphe person who can tell us the truth! Thank you, Sam! I have been on the fence, and I have faith that you will help me (and many others) make up their minds :D
I don't like them cause their palettes are really boring and they contain parabens ): I tried the plum palette before I realized that and felt like there was a lot of duplicates within the palette and a lot of the shadows barely worked.... The Jaclyn palettes look decent, at least when it comes to color choices. Idk if they've changed formula recently but if they didn't have parabens I'd definitely buy another one of their palettes. I know parabens won't kill you but at the same time I'd rather save be spend money on something that's more quality
Big bidy little heart you should research the alternatives to parabens as conservatives. Some of them are og poorer quality, and the products will go bad before the expire date, and some of them can give you some serious allergic reactions, and even make it impsseble to use any product later. Parabens have been resurched thorougly and have not been proved dangerous in the amount that is legal. However there have been tests on mice ehere they were given 2000 times the legal amount...
Actually I own this palette and I think what they’re meaning is these shimmers don’t go on wel with a brush at all. Little to no pigment. However, with ur finger it goes on foiled and fully pigmented. It’s insane the difference. Idk why they don’t work with a brush.
Oh fuck off. I said OPINIONS. As in more than one. I also never said MY opinion on the palette, just that I liked that someone who ISN'T affiliated with Morphe (and therefore not getting paid specifically for the review) was giving their opinion on the palette.
Amazing enough to warrant the $120 price for Canadians? Cause that's like Natasha Denona level expensive and I don't think those palettes are worth it either lol
Wow Sam, kudos to you for going above and beyond to address everyone's concerns with this palette and do your research(even though it's not your collaboration)
The one time I tried to order from Morphe, it said that with international shipping they would not issue any refund if the product did not arrive. LOL. I think I'll pass.
The cost of shipping, plus the CAN custom fees equals more than the cost of the palette for godsake. Morphe could drop their international shipping costs if they wanted to. They definitely have the volume in orders to warrent a considerable drop. Look at companies like Beautylish or BH Cosmetics. They don't profit off of their shipping costs and I have so much more respect for them for that. Beauty Bay is another great one. Goodness, look at Halo Beauty! That company isnt even a year old and the fees have already drop drastically. Now that the hype has dropped, I have been moderating considering purchasing this palette, but after some consideration, I think I will still pass. Honestly, screw Morphe. I could spend a few more bucks and get a Natasha Denona palette. Or if I really wanted it that bad, (which I dont) I could get it from Ulta Beauty online. They ship to Canada and provide super reasonable shipping rates.
if it was under $30 like a normal morphe palette, i'd buy it but i'm not paying $38 plus $10 shipping for this. this is one of the best reviews i've watched so far on this palette
As a Canadian consumer, I'm a little annoyed with Morphe. When I bought the first Jaclyn palette, I paid $7.95 for shipping. I'm hearing now that shipping is over $50 for this palette, and added duties on top. If they want to take themselves seriously as a company, they need to lower these costs for consumers. Regardless of how good this palette is, I would never pay $119 for something I can't physically touch and swatch before purchasing. I'm not in the business of wasting my money on something that Morphe affiliates are pimping out.
jessatrike i didn't pay $50 for shipping and the palette did come under $100 after the exchange rate. I also used a promo code, which didn't do much but every bit counts I guess.
caitlin, if you paid $100 for this palette you are nuts. this brand is about affordability and being "good for the money". the quality is not there for that price point.
I did :) HOWEVER - I am still disappointed with the price and i find it unfair that Morphe doesn't cater to their Canadian consumer properly. Would I say I'm nuts for buying it? lol, no...I wanted it. I needed a new palette, I like Jac, and i like the colours. I'm pretty happy with it too :P
First time here watching your videos you are a breath of fresh air very mature i love how knowledgeable informative and formal your video is i like that you know what your talking about and convey the information to the viewer in a simple and formal way!
After watching multiple reviews on this palette and trying to tell myself that the truth is in the swatches, I realized that I have never really brush swatched my other palettes, such as the ABH Modern Renaissance and the Shade and Light eye palette. I went to swatch them just like she did, with no over- excessive pressing and a realistic amount on my brush, and they looked just like how this one swatched. This review is great in the fact that it's unbiased, but I just don't see why the swatches are a big deal. They perform beautifully on the eyes, just like how the other palettes I mentioned do. I would say before being swooned by the swatches, go play with your own beloved palettes and compare.
People are just going to use this vid to underline the opinion they already had. I personally think it looks okay and the color selection looks very complete to me.
This was a FANTASTIC review. The best one I've seen on this palette. You really provided all the info anyone considering this palette would need to know, and gave input on every single shade instead of just doing a look with only the shades you liked. I really appreciate the time & effort you put into this. So thorough, unbiased, and informative! Thanks Sam
Girl, it's $62 shipping to Aus which is ROBBERY. Edit: The shipping cost separate from the palette is $62. Try adding it to your cart and typing in an Australian address and see for yourselves.
Thanks for a well balanced and honest review. So many other RUclipsrs seem to blow smoke when it comes to Jaclyn and it's nice to know we can always trust your opinion.
This review is comprehensive, detailed and thorough. Sam R explores the palette colour range, the prices for various countries and shipping, the packaging, the reasons why she personally may not like it, the swatches both brush and finger - She also mentions the studio lighting may affect the swatches and for those who think she trashes JH - her comments includee "how beautiful they are, 'working on deeper skin tones', 'blending out nicely', 'great for transition shades', 'beautiful tones', 'apply beautifully', this colour is stunning, applies intensely, she says 'its nice', she says beautiful colour she actually likes it a lot, how they swatch beautifully, 'really nicely milled', 'super creamy and nice dimension to it' - conversely, as ALL reviews should consider BOTH the positives and negatives she also mentions its hard to build up, can be patchy, worrys about how it will apply with the brush, some are noticeably drier but less buttery, might need to apply with finger, personally not attracted to the colour (personally - BUT a nice colour addition to the palette), little bit disappointed by,recommend going in with a wet brush, patchy might struggle with it" - what more could she do. Well done Sam on not being a shady cunt.
I do think one has to consider -genuinely, what benefit sam would reap from showing incorrect swatches.. ? Why would she intentionally show sub-par swatches? There isn't any gain in that for her. She has no negative history with JH or morphe, she can't monetize showing bad swatches.. she doesn't have a palette in competition - I can't see a reason for her to deliberately sabotage someone. She has built a reputation on being honest and reliable about her reviews and I think it would damage her brand too much to risk it all on deliberately swatching something wrong. and frankly... why on earth would she bother, she doesnt seem to revel in or seek out YT drama.
OMG... How did I not discover you before today?! A Canadian Stephanie Nicole hehe. Thank you so much for the CAD estimate. Will NOT be getting this for that price.
You younger people need to realise that just because everything is not Sunshine and Butterflies, Does NOT mean it's Negative for Fucks Sake!!! I swear that I see it 1 Million times a day on RUclips. If somebody doesn't like every fucking thing about every fucking thing, "They're being Negative 😣😣😣😢😢😢." That's not the way the world works. It's not Negative to be honest. Jesus!
I fucking ❤️ your channel. I've only been watching beauty YT vids for a month or two, and you are the first YT'er to actually give honest and realistic reviews. I love how you compare quality/packaging to the price we would be paying. Most YT'ers don't seem to take into account that we ain't getting this shit for free, like y'all. I mean, lots of products are amazing when they are free. I love your content, personality, transparency and the fact that you aren't outta touch with the average makeup consumers reality.
The expectations for this palette are very high. That all falls on Jaclyn because she hyped this palette for well over a year. When you say you've worked on something for two years and it took so long because you were perfecting it, people are going to expect a lot. I've seen only two other reviews and they of course loved it. I'm not saying this palette is shit it looks nice, however, to me it's not worth the price tag. Thank you for being honest and straight forward. Its not something you see a lot on youtube anymore.
they are litteraly 1.09 per shade. try buying a 13 color palette from UD got $54.00 come on get real. I myself purchased this palette and it's awesome and swatches perfect. so it like shown in this video. I like Samantha just don't understand why her swatches ate crap. mine were great
Maybe because the palette is inconsistent? Which isn't a weird thing for morphe. When you break down the cost per shadow it sounds great but what everyone doesn't seem to understand is that it probably cost them less than that to produce the eyeshadow and the reason why the price is a lot higher for this palette, even though it has the same ingredients as other palettes that are at least 10 bucks cheaper is because that money is going to Jaclyn, which of course she needs to get paid. But don't lie and say that the difference in price is because this palette has better ingredients because it doesn't its the same thing and the only difference was the pressing of the shadows. Also Urban Decay and all those other brands at sephora can afford to make their eyeshadows cost that much they've been around for years, this is Morphe, a company who private labels from China, don't compare they're not on the same level.
I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED YOU AND YOUR HONESTY. Not buying the palette but watched bc I knew you would be so real and also just love hearing you talk from time to time. Your makeup techniques are bomb and I try to learn from you every time you post ! Post more I will forever love you and grilled cheese and mac and cheese 💕💃🏼
I don't know if that's fully accurate. Going to wait and see when it's released (I'm Canadian too) I didn't pay any duties or extra when I ordered the Bronze Mocha palette from Morphe. The palette is $17 and the shipping was like $15.
I dont get any duties either when I get my morpheme but something I did note from the colourpop website about duties is that generally products over 25$ would be charged for duties. I recently spent 100CAD at colourpop for the iluvsarahii collab and my duties were 22$
I never got duties for any of my past morphe palettes. (Two separate orders, they were on sale as well at the time). But I've gotten hit with duties for clothes randomly, even if my order wasn't over $30. I'm sure Jaclyn's proud of her formulas and all of that but if you have morphe palettes already and you like them, I wouldn't buy this.. like yeah formula might be slightly different but if you compare chances are you already have the same colors. and in my weird opinion, she says that this took her like three years to develop and it's her best yet, but she's working on her own makeup brand to be released pretty soon.... would you really put everything you got on a morphe collab when your own brand is coming soon? i wouldn't but that's just me - i'd rather cut out almost all collabs if i was working on launching a brand.
kristenLFG I am Canadian and got a bill in the mail from FEDEX for $17 for shipping. Plus was charged exchange rate on my credit card. On my very first Morphe order I was charged $30 in duties and had to pick up at a Shoppers Drug Mart to pay that.
Hey! First time I've watched your channel and I really enjoyed this tutorial. It was easy to follow ( I wish more people would get as close up as you do here) and I've got some great tips on how to apply some of the shades in this palette. Thank you!😍
I love you girl. So much respect. You're probably the ONLY one who gave REAL ass realistic ass swatches. You didn't dip your shit in there so hard so that all your swatches looked like something they aren't. Ugh. xo
I really enjoyed your honesty. I had my doubts seeing as so many youtubers are talking about how amazing it is, I think I'll just go to Sephora and by me the abh instead. Thanks girl
I agree with Sam, mattes aren't supposed to swatch full on opaque, that could easily become too much on the eyes. What's important is that they blend smoothly, which these shadows do. I definitely plan on getting this palette when it launches, thanks so much for the review, Samantha ❤️ Also, for people who plan on applying the shimmers/metallics with brushes, it helps to apply a tiny amount of eye primer or glitter glue first (I do this every time I add a lid color from any palette I use). It helps to grab the product. If you're applying a metallic into a dry matte lid, there's nothing for the shadow to grab on to.
Holy balls! I was thinking about purchasing but Im sorry JH...I cannot spend $119.00... I love being Canadian except when it comes to the exchange rate and shipping costs.
I like how your swatches are more "realistic" than jaclyns were though. Definitely gives me more of an actual idea on how they will look. So thank you for for doing it like this. I feel like hers were "too much". Like she rubbed too hard to give off more pigment. But people do swatch differently 🤷🏼♀️
Jaclyns fingers were also a bit damp if you realize since she was wiping her swatching finger off every single time. plus wiping her arm off and probably not drying it... just throwing that out there
Blair Warner I know that. I was just saying I liked how realistic Sam's swatches were. I'm 100% not mad or hating on Jaclyn's swatches, but I could tell they were more pigmented than Sam's that's all. 🤷🏼♀️
Madison Jobe Jaclyn also went back and forth like 3 times to really even out the streakyness ( not hating just pointing out what I saw ) so that could be something to because nobody else was doing that so they look streaky but honestly who cares about swatches because they obviously perform WELL ON THE EYE I MEAN WOW ITS STUNNING.
Blair Warner yeah exactly. JH even admitted her fingers were wet. shadows applied with wet fingers are going to be way more pigmented and smooth. thats kinda shady imo.
Literally 10/10 video, Sam. I loved your honesty and how you went in with a completely open mind! Still undecided if I'll get this palette cause £60+ is more than I paid for the Huda Rose gold palette and ABH modern renaissance and both of those stung but we'll see! 💜
This was the only review that I generally believed and found extremely helpful. I love how it wasn't simply 'like it don't like'. Explained really well. Subscribed!
THE BEST REVIEW/FIRST IMPRESSION/SWATCHES IN THE HISTORY OF BEAUTY INFLUENCING!!!! WOMAN....you are heaven sent. From the personality, demeanor, honestly, speech, verbatim. Everything is perfect! SUBBED NO DOUBT. Cannot wait to view more from you!
the crazy thing is that I've been seeing this palette all over RUclips BUT when I wanted the REAL DEAL... I came over to you Sam! I really appreciate your response. I met you a BeautyCon and you're the same as you are on camera. Thanks for keeping it 100! Oh wow... I saw JH vid and love her and didn't even notice that the names weren't here. I don't like doing vids w/o the names. I will probably get because I'm in LA for my kit and will probably in a vid but a drag that the names aren't included.
I think the issue with this palette is that the swatches are deceiving, but overall from all the videos I have seen, they perform well which ultimately is what matters.
Yahnellie a lot of other makeup youtubers did swatches with this palette and it didn't look anything like her swatches. The others swatched it normally and it looked so pigmented and really pretty so i have no idea why hers looks like that. But either way im going to get the palette and see for myself.
I love how honest your reviews are! you explain everything so well and you inspire me to finally start doing my own reviews, like I've been wanting to do for years! You're the best!
I'm so happy that you created this thoughtful, constructive, and thorough review, thank you Sam. I am quite tired of all the Morphe minions and their code pushing, so seeing a review from a non affiliate is a welcome change. It seems like you're catching an undeserved amount of flack and I'm sorry for that, this review didn't even seem like it was negative but whatever. Keep being honest and hilarious, thanks chica!
I think it was important for this vid to go up as quickly as possible after JH's did because we can see the contrasts clearly ...truth vs hype Thanks for the vid Sam 🙌🏼
This is the first time I made it to your channel, but I'm so glad I did! What a wonderful, honest, and informative review. So excited to be a subscriber now!
I subscribed. Stephanie Nicole said that JS called anyone that didn't like the palette cunts and after that you got tons of hate comments. Regardless of if that's true or not these fans need to grow up and realize that it's ok for people to have different opinions. I'm sorry for all the hate you're getting.
First off , i am so glad i found your channel , i have been reading the comments on this video and everyone says you are so honest , which i am glad about. Its hard to find youtuber that are honest about a product bc they are forced to say good things about it or they feel like they have to because it was sent to them . I will definitely be binge watching your videos
Sumbel Syeda so I read what other people have to say about paying duties when they purchase with Morphe and they said that if it's under $100 then you most likely won't. But when I place orders and they ship through FedEx international I usually have to pay like $30 for every $100 I spend. It really does depend. This is why I don't buy with Morphe, made just this one exception. I'm getting my palette tomorrow so I will see if I have to pay for duties :/
Watched your video before the drama, and as usual, loved your honesty. I'm not usually a Morphe person, but a part of me is kind of wanting this palette after watching your review.... Just can't necessarily justify the cost. Either way, thank you for continuing to be genuine. I've been subscribed for a few years now and I continue to love your make up tips, humor and honesty. People can be jerks, but know you are loved and appreciated here.
BeautyJunki101 well Sam did say this is a swatch with only 1 swipe... Jaclyn and other influencers swipe their finger in the pan multiple time before swatching..... it is a very big difference tho!!! But I absolutely love Sam for keeping it real!
DCCharged jaclyn did brush swatches in natural lighting on her Snapchat, showing her picking up the product and placing on her arm, and for the most part they still looked amazing. I like how this girl gave her personal honest opinion but it's almost like she purposely made her swatches bad. I'm pretty positive jaclyn can't edit her Snapchat videos before posting on her snap story lol, I'm sticking with jaclyn on this one 🤷🏽♀️
I totally agree! When I saw this video I was thinking how can some people (most people) make the palette look amazing, and then it look so bad in this video? You can make a palette what you want with your swatches. Just like with the UD Heat palette. In Jaclyn's video she blended the matte shadows more when she did the swatches, so of course its going to look better! Matte shadows are meant to be blended! They aren't meant to just sit on the skin. As for the swatches in this video.... I honestly have no idea how you got these to look so bad. You had to put barely any pressure on the shadow and go over the shadow one time. Who just goes into a shadow one time with light pressure (Nobody)! I just got a really bad vide from Sam in this video... Like she can't be happy for another RUclipsr who is bigger for doing amazing things, so she kinda sabotaged this review. I think the real tale is that the shadows worked BEAUTIFUL on the eyes, even in this video. In my opinion the brush she chose to apply the shimmer shades was a poor choice. Also I haven't applied a shimmer shadow on my lid with a brush in YEARS, I always use my finger! I guess I am just so shocked by this gal.... All youtubers want a positive atmosphere but there is no way that is possible when youtubers like this go around pulling this BS. Gah... I for one will be purchasing the palette!
So, I usually don't comment on videos but I saw your name mentioned on Instagram for a picture of this palette. I got curious and looked you up on RUclips. I have to say, I am so glad I did. I love your honesty: listing both pros and cons and have you feel. I'm glad that there are still honest gurus reviewing palette. I'm so glad to have stumble upon your channel. Thank you; and I'm so glad to be a new subscriber.
Thank you for the most honest review I've seen thus far on this pallet! I love that you were able to get the true colors for us, and that you didn't exaggerate your swatches- it's definitely given us a more realistic expectation.
Sam, just came from Stephanie Nicole's Instagram and wanted to tell you that I became a subscriber right after this review. I found it fair and truthful and you refrained from blowing smoke up my ass like so many YT's beauty bullshitters. It is an overpriced Morphe palette, even before Morphe's unbelievably overpriced international shipping. The JH stans that would buy her used toilet paper are just that--mindless fans. Thanks for your continued honesty and integrity.
Gotta say that I absolutely LOVE your review of this. Thank you for being so honest. Also, I really like that you film your eyeshadow up close, that is super helpful!
I love this tutorial/review/swatch test!! I can definitely appreciate your honesty, and it just makes me want me this palette even more. You never forgot to mention the various ways that each shadow may work for each person, even if they don't swatch so perfectly. The swatches are objective, but people look for different things in each palette and you were definitely looking out for us. Knew I could trust your opinion on this, thanks Sam 💖
I don't think I'll be purchasing morphe ever again, their products are always highly recommended from affiliates and they're always a disappointment. This one is twice the price and looks like the same quality.
honestly, coming from someone who's been watching and following and loving both Samantha and Jaclyn for a long while, and was very much highly anticipating this palette, it was pretty refreshing to see a video like this. i love the palette and i'm super bummed i couldn't get my hands on it for the first launch, and i plan to for the next one, but this review i feel like was so needed. 90% of the reviews so far have been from affiliates or friends of jaclyn and that's fine, but it's really cool to see it from a different point of view. someone that's not tied personally or on paper to anything they say. i know a lot of people are on the fence about the palette BECAUSE it's really been nothing but good reviews so far so thank you for this!! it's awesome to see someone be legitimately honest.
Sam! You are wonderful and so thoughtful. I appreciate that you stay true to your honest OPINION and also take into consideration things your followers will want to know. I feel this is especially relevant as your videos as of late have been more .....controversial compared to the typical RUclips beauty vids. Thanks for keeping it real and being a consistent person I can count on to tell me what's going on in your head when you try a product! I appreciate you greatly.
I came from Stephanie's ig post. I thought your review was honest, and wasn't throwing shade in anyway. Just ignore all the hate girl. We don't all have to like the same things. We all don't have to attack each other for not liking the same things. In an already divided world, we in the beauty community should stick together and lift each other up. 💚much love, you just earned another subscriber.
Finally someone that does an honest review and thank god isn't actually affiliated. Nikkia Joy also had some of the same problems with her swatches as you did Sam so I was wondering if i would be able to find another honest review. I enjoyed your honest review so much I subscribed where have you been Lol. I though it was sooo helpful to include the cost of the shipping that is so helpful. FYI I don't think it would be subject to Australian taxes because it is under a $1000 but i am not positive on that
I'm a fairly new subscriber but you have quickly moved to my top favorite youtubers. You're so honest and informed with your reviews and i love that you didn't just hype it up like everyone else has. I can tell you put alot of time and effort into not just this video but all of your reviews and it does not go unnoticed. Thanks for this super informative and honest review 💞💞 love you Sam 😊
Over $50 to ship to Vancouver...Sorry Morphe but that's just a daylight robbery. $150 bucks after taxes, border fees, shipping and exchange....I can get a beautiful palette for that in Sephora.... Why would I want this?
Here from Stephanie Nicole's IG post! Thank you for your honest review. You were honest but in a respectful way. RUclips needs more of this type of review. I'll be subscribing ❤️
These people are minions
kaitlin and
Sarah Campbell These people and the folks who went Applecare on NPR for quoting the Declaration of Independence gotta be related.
It didn't seem negative at all to me. I adore mine but agree with her review 100%.
HD will be coming soon but I wanted to get the video up for you guys before we head out for the night to fam dinner :) Enjoy!
Samantha Ravndahl thank you for putting this out so quickly!!
Samantha Ravndahl Thank you for the honest review! I appreciate it!
Samantha Ravndahl love to see a non Morphe sponsored review!! Idk if you've already been told, but a couple of those glittery shades you used for the kid Jaclyn says you have to use a finger or very wet brush to get the real color pay off!
Brittan SS Came to say the same thing!
Samantha Ravndahl What lip colour are you wearing?
most raw and trustworthy beauty youtuber, bless your heart and soul
Isabelle Morrow tati is super raw too
Halin Stepans eh not really
Halin Stepans completely disagree sadly. tati is honest when it suits her, like on drugstore reviews. but she raved about the Nikki Tutorials palette when it was crap.
Mira Aguirre she didn't rave... she said there were certain nice shades and some that weren't so nice. She never has affiliate codes and is honest.
Makeupbymolliw Exactly my thoughts, like who cares how they swatch!
Maria Tarelo I know!! Sam even said she was disappointed with the amount of hate this palette is getting and that she liked the swatches.
Makeupbymolliw hahaha for real
I think in this case it's because Jaclyn's swatches differ from Sam's swatches
My hat is off to you girl! keep it up! x
John Fenn also recommend stephanie nicole! Even more thorough if you like this kind of review
Yep, she's great. If you are looking for other bloggers who are independent and give detailed reviews try Stephanie Nicole and Brianna Fox.
Yep, I am definitely agreeing with the Stephanie Nicole recommendation. She just stood up for Samantha on IG in a huge way!! So much respect for her xx
One of my great joys in life is you forever forgetting what the accent brush is called.
McKenzie Martines HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH YES!
McKenzie Martines yessssssssss 😂😂😂
McKenzie Martines i thought the same thaaang omg i love her
Now I'LL never forget what that brush is called 😂
Yaaaasssssss
It takes a brave confident person to be honest about this palette morphe and and Jaclyn hill. Good for u for not pretending all the shadows were jaw dropping! Respect u and this a lot. Thank u! Xo
chazerthebull that's why we love her!! She keeps it real
Morphe international shipping is just ridiculous! Kind of defeats the purpose of supplying 'affordable' products.
Leah I live in the US and was going to buy one of their liquid lipsticks for $12.99. Affordable, right? No. They wanted $7.95 to ship just one lipstick. Just one. Fuck that.
For them to ship anything to Canada is $26... they must be making money off their shipping because these prices are seriously ridiculous
Leah morphe's shipping prices have def increased over time, i remember when i placed my 1st order with them, i only paid like $4. now its like 9$ to just ship some brushes!! 😬☹ #sucks i live in the US, so im sure the international shipping is ridiculous!!! i am grabbing this palette tho as i love Jaclyn hill, just hoping shipping doesn't kill me 🤔
$7.95 is pennies compared to what they charge everywhere else
I wanted this but I'm Canadian why would it be $119
THANK JESUS! A non Morphe person who can tell us the truth! Thank you, Sam! I have been on the fence, and I have faith that you will help me (and many others) make up their minds :D
You did such a comprehensive review, awesome job! 👍🏼 🌺 And, PUKEY?? 😝 I can't with that name.
I liked her face every time she said the name. LOL It was like "WTF?"
Jackie Watson Fitness Yes!! I adore her dry humor; just comes to her naturally without trying hard 😎
Only girl I trust when it comes to reviews tbfh
Autumn Starbird SAMEEE
Autumn Starbird YES. I so appreciate her honesty!
Autumn Starbird what about Stephanie Nicole!?
I agree.
Autumn Starbird 💯💯💯💯💯
I'm laughing at the comments telling her how to apply shimmers, as if she's not a professional
+Queen Juliet she certainly knows more than you abour makeup, gtfo child.
Queen Juliet but if you had any you would see what a great artist Sam is
Actually I own this palette and I think what they’re meaning is these shimmers don’t go on wel with a brush at all. Little to no pigment. However, with ur finger it goes on foiled and fully pigmented. It’s insane the difference. Idk why they don’t work with a brush.
People need to remember its just coloured powder
That is very over priced and over hyped by the looks of it!
No one ever thought this day would come, but I'm so glad that it did. Super excited for non-affiliated opinions.
Jessica C. Firlotte amen to that
Jessica C. Firlotte I'm not affiliated with morphe and it's amazing and pigmented as heck
Jessica C. Firlotte im glad that people like yourself go with any RUclipsrs opinion instead of making your own. This palette is amazing
THIS, this right here is the video I was waiting for after your periscope! Had to comment before I even watched! :) Love being part of the early fam!!
you're a true bro for this review. I love the realistic swatches
And the cries of a thousand Canadian Jaclyn Hill fans could be heard past the American border. Affordable for everyone my ass. Thanks Sam.
Autumn Fey 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Autumn Fey lmfaooo 😂😂😂
Autumn Fey it's even worse for Europeans :((((((
@@marina7572 its even worse for anyone else lmao
As a consumer, it means a lot to have RUclipsrs I can trust. Thanks for the thoughtful review!
Love how respectful and honest this review is. Positive.. yet realistic. Good shit Sam!
if it was under $30 like a normal morphe palette, i'd buy it but i'm not paying $38 plus $10 shipping for this. this is one of the best reviews i've watched so far on this palette
D - did she not just say she bought it for under $100 not she paid $100
I did :)
HOWEVER - I am still disappointed with the price and i find it unfair that Morphe doesn't cater to their Canadian consumer properly. Would I say I'm nuts for buying it? lol, no...I wanted it. I needed a new palette, I like Jac, and i like the colours. I'm pretty happy with it too :P
um yes, natalie...when someone says that it usually means just under $100. if i pay $50 bucks for something i don't say "i got it for under $100".
Abbie Martin FINALLY! A voice of reason
Abbie Martin I wish Sam was reading the comments so she would pin this one!
People are just going to use this vid to underline the opinion they already had. I personally think it looks okay and the color selection looks very complete to me.
Abbie Martin I did the same thing!! Same results with the Renaissance pallet!
SO glad someone said this cause it's true! Just did this with my MR palette and UD smokey palette and same result
Mother of Dragons, Reviewer of Makeup, Queen of Swatches, Bringer of Truth
theoldphone best .comment .ever. right here 👆👆👆👆👆👆👆👆👆👆👆👆
AGREED. lmao!
This is the best comment I've ever seen :D
😂😂😂
theoldphone 😂😂😂
Thank you so much for this video, it's so damn hard to find an honest review of anything anymore
THANK YOU, SAM. It's nice to see an honest review on this. You're the best.
now THIS is an honest review. well done sam, all respect to you x
Jodiealamode Damn!! Why??!! That's ridiculous!
I hope you mean $62 INCLUDES the palette....?!!
Imagine being Canadian ;-;
Jodiealamode im canadian. lol not buyin tho.. ROBBERY is right
The shipping cost separate from the palette is $62. Try adding it to your cart and typing in an Australian address and see for yourselves.
The intro is already amazing hahahahaha you're the best
Also shoutout to you for being a homie with the timestamps girl
The look at pukey omg
She could have showed the actual swatching process
indeed she could, this was an error on her part. Lesson for many YT's, learned.
Sara Linden if you're thinking about it u can use code CHECKOUT15 to save some cash. don't miss out. its super good
Such a difference in your swatches and JH! Thank you for the honesty!
Thank god you posted a review! I trust your opinion the most. 🙏
MayaPop same
thank you for a very honest and unbiased review!
She said it's good quality and worth buying if you're in the US..so why is everyone acting like she was being negative...?
Sarah Lane bc she was
That palette does not look like its worth 50 dollars though...
it costs 38$ in the US and 119$ in canada! i meeeeeeeeeeeeean; 119$ ??????! Comon! +Kira Dunlap +Sarah Lane
Celene Onate buttttt she wasn't???
Karina B Exactly. Half the palette looks like their warm palette.
Karina B yessss agreed!!
38$ is that a joke it's so cheap
they are litteraly 1.09 per shade. try buying a 13 color palette from UD got $54.00 come on get real.
$100 CAD for a morphe palette? BYE!
I don't know if that's fully accurate. Going to wait and see when it's released (I'm Canadian too)
I didn't pay any duties or extra when I ordered the Bronze Mocha palette from Morphe.
The palette is $17 and the shipping was like $15.
lan right ... bye girl 🙋🏽
Ugh. xo
Sam maybe if you cut out dairy those shimmer shadows will show up better on the lid
Ojitos Tapatios 😂😂😂😂
Ojitos Tapatios omg hahahahaha this is amazing. Gotta love the 'scope!!!
Ojitos Tapatios dead 😂😂
Ojitos Tapatios i
Lmfao!!!!
I really enjoyed your honesty. I had my doubts seeing as so many youtubers are talking about how amazing it is, I think I'll just go to Sephora and by me the abh instead. Thanks girl
WHAT foundation are you wearing!!!?? so beautiful
I agree with Sam, mattes aren't supposed to swatch full on opaque, that could easily become too much on the eyes. What's important is that they blend smoothly, which these shadows do. I definitely plan on getting this palette when it launches, thanks so much for the review, Samantha ❤️
Also, for people who plan on applying the shimmers/metallics with brushes, it helps to apply a tiny amount of eye primer or glitter glue first (I do this every time I add a lid color from any palette I use). It helps to grab the product. If you're applying a metallic into a dry matte lid, there's nothing for the shadow to grab on to.
I could literally listen to you talk about makeup all day. You're so informative and knowledgeable!!
Wow Sam such a unique look lol seriously tho I love you thanks for this vid girl
Sam coming THROUGH WITH THE TRUTH. I love your reviews I appreciate your knowledge and observations :)
Sam got the name of the real technique's accent brush correct AND she used a morphe pallet? What the actual bloody hell?!!!
I've been following you for a few years now and I can honestly say you're my fav youtuber hands down! Always so honest with us! Love you!
Straight up the only RUclipsr I trust. I will be purchasing this palette, and I appreciate this honest review. Keep doin you, Sam! ♥️
Holy balls! I was thinking about purchasing but Im sorry JH...I cannot spend $119.00... I love being Canadian except when it comes to the exchange rate and shipping costs.
Jaden Lukash damn Thats a lot!
Jaden Lukash .... We do have to make choices... JH or the new natasha denona sunset? I think my choice is pretty clear lol
Jaden Lukash amen to that. I was actually considering getting it but hell-to-the-no for $119. I'd rather buy viseart for that price.
If any Canadian wants the palette but doesn't want to pay shipping let a girl know, I don't mind shipping it out to you🙃
Niki Fleming would you actually be willing to do that? I would honestly love you forever could you email me radiance09s@gmail.com
"I'm going to take this color pukey" gives a *what the fuck* side eye 😂😂
The 'pukey' side eye 😂
LOL! Love Sam.
Haha that was EPIC. Shady boots, love it.
Rachel Hill wait omg i'm so glad you said this cause i don't know why she did this! tell me!
Tara Lynne because the name "pukey" lol little funny
😂😂😂😂😂 yes to the side eye
This non affiliated review of a Morphe product was orgasmic. Thank you 😹👏🏻👏🏻
I love how honest your reviews are! you explain everything so well and you inspire me to finally start doing my own reviews, like I've been wanting to do for years!
I think it was important for this vid to go up as quickly as possible after JH's did because we can see the contrasts clearly ...truth vs hype
Thanks for the vid Sam 🙌🏼
what??? a non Morphe affiliate?? subscribed!! I love you already
Sam is awesome 😊 she streams on Periscope a lot if you're ever interested. We have some interesting conversations on there.
Thanks for ALWAYS keeping it real. Honest reviews are so refreshing, and hard to come by! Much love!
Never want to watch another RUclipsr again. You're so honest it's so refreshing!
Who is isn't going to buy the palette but just wanted to watch Sam? 🙋🏻
Winter Meadows me!! Lol
Winter Meadows pretty much
Winter Meadows meeeeee
Nope I'm buying, it's beautiful
Same lol
I forgot how beautiful your eye tutorials are!!! My fav hands down. Love your honesty as well. ❤️❤️❤️
$118 CANADIAN!!!! Fuck that. Wow.. Im from Canada and Id rather walk in to Sephora and buy a couple palettes for that price!!!!
Miss Kae or the natasha denona sunset 😉
Miss Kae so weird. I payed $70 Canadian for the palette and shipping together.
Do Canadians have to pay duties with FedEx international economy
DUUUUDE..... Can we talk about the difference between yours and Jaclyns swatches doeeeee? I mean......
BeautyJunki101 I was thinking the exact same thing... how is that even possible?
BeautyJunki101 she keeps it real love Samantha
You're doing amazing sweetie
Sam, just came from Stephanie Nicole's Instagram and wanted to tell you that I became a subscriber right after this review. I found it fair and truthful and you refrained from blowing smoke up my ass like so many YT's beauty bullshitters. It is an overpriced Morphe palette, even before Morphe's unbelievably overpriced international shipping. The JH stans that would buy her used toilet paper are just that--mindless fans. Thanks for your continued honesty and integrity.
HeyJaye I actually subscribed to her after this review also :)
The difference in swatches from you and Jaclyn is insane. So glad to have people like you to review this palette sam! You the realist🤣💕
SAM AND MORPHE IN THE SAME VIDEO!?
I'm #shook
XGx Victoriaaa why are you shook though? Did I miss something
holy crap! I can't believe it's that expensive in Canada. How are we more expensive than Australia?!
lilkat007 that's how fucking shitty our dollar is right now. It's insane
lilkat007 wow thanks Trudeau 😪
lilkat007 Everything Canadian is more expensive than in Australia? At least from what I've seen
Artliker1234 is this a joke? 😂
Julia Katarina Karanović yeah man. Like Thanks Obama
I don't think I'll be purchasing morphe ever again, their products are always highly recommended from affiliates and they're always a disappointment. This one is twice the price and looks like the same quality.
Kelli Marissa I have this palette. It’s excellent. I reach for it every day.
honestly, coming from someone who's been watching and following and loving both Samantha and Jaclyn for a long while, and was very much highly anticipating this palette, it was pretty refreshing to see a video like this. i love the palette and i'm super bummed i couldn't get my hands on it for the first launch, and i plan to for the next one, but this review i feel like was so needed.
FYI I don't think it would be subject to Australian taxes because it is under a $1000 but i am not positive on that
I came from Stephanie Nicole's post on IG. DO NOT listen to haters. You gave an honest review and you are beautiful. They are trolling is all.
I am so glad you did a review on this product. Thank you! You're one of the only beauty bloggers i can trust.
Hands down the ONLY review of this palette I will trust.
This is by far the best review of this palette I've seen...
Over $50 to ship to Vancouver...Sorry Morphe but that's just a daylight robbery. $150 bucks after taxes, border fees, shipping and exchange....I can get a beautiful palette for that in Sephora.... Why would I want this?
They ship from Mississauga now, so you'll pay just under $50 if you like it ;)
This was amazing! I love how you did both brush and finger swatches. You can definitely tell a lot of work went into this Sam.
Here from Stephanie Nicole's IG post! Thank you for your honest review. You were honest but in a respectful way. RUclips needs more of this type of review. I'll be subscribing ❤️
