Magnificent tank!! I have a similar sized pair that have just had their eggs hatch, few days off free swimming, may I ask what did you feed the fry? They’re beautiful fish although the hobby in my town is very small so I’m afraid I may have to cull a lot of the fry.
Panton's Fish Keeping Thank you very much. I fed the freeswimmers very fine grow up food bought this from a fishstore, also i rubbed fine flakes. But don't worry if your tank is running s while they find their food on stones and wood. I sold the couple the new owner has them in a big show tank at his store. The fry was spread to several fishstores and a few to friends.
You should do that sometime. Fantastic cichlids to keep. Do not mistake these fish can hold their ground, but these are for sure no festae or some other more agressive cichlids.

I keep one South American pike(male I believe) 1 melanura(female) sold to me by the fish store as a yellow gene Vieja synopilum, 1 vieja hartwigi(male), 1 parachromis dovii(female), and an eclipse cat fish all in a 110 gallon fish tank. I’ve tried to keep chocolates in my previous tanks when I first started and it never ended well, the fish I had were always too aggressive. So I know I they won’t hold their own with the fish I currently have or any other fish I will probably have in the future. Thnx for the reply.
Hi Deb, sorry mist this. Yes is sell the babies but not all, this batch was to big. They make good food. I sold the parents now and i am keeping 2 different central amarican species in this tank. Whrn i got time i shoot a vid again. Still got 4 youngster to grow up for myself. Thanks for stopping by

I wish I could keep one of these, but my fish are to aggressive for them.
