Lovely arrangement of roses Laura. The wax flower is called Geraldton Wax. It originates from a town called Geraldton on the west coast of Australia, which is actually the town I grew up in. They grow wild there, as do sunflowers 🌻
Laura you’re a breath of fresh air … I love how down to earth you are … you made me chuckle when you said you needed to water your hands … made me think ..you can’t trust a skinny chef .. and I say you can’t trust a gardener with clean hands lol… love all your videos.. you are one of the first things I look for every morning 🥰🙌
The Hartley continues to bring joy to you and all of us who live vicariously through you! Those roses are exquisite and a promise of gardens to come. Thank you for brightening our lives with such beautiful and green growing things. 🥰
After our Thanksgiving meal, I took the grandkids out to the potting shed to “pot up” individual amaryllis bulbs for them to take home and watch for blooms . I also potted up my summer amaryllis, and we seem to be in the same stage as you are! Looks like January through February, and I can only “blame Laura” for this new family obsession! Thank you for all you do Laura to keep us creative and growing green, even through the 5b winter of southern WI!
Love it all❤ Russell has more scratching posts on the barn. Hubby said, horses are a lot of work & money! Vet bills & shoeing or trimming hooves. His first life with horse person, last life me28yrs🎉
Those flowers look like they’re from Trader Joe’s , they seem to always carry English roses , love getting flowers from them . All of the plants you repotted are so pretty . Thank you for always making sure you give us the name of the plants , just in case we need to go buy one or two . The Hartley is the spot to be in it’s gorgeous in there 🌿🪻🪴
I just have to tell you Laura... I have learned so much from you. Your videos have really inspired me to garden more. I have yet to find a channel more educational. Keep up all the good work. Have you ever thought about doing a floral tutorial in your flower shed with all your cut flowers you've grown ?
I am so excited for Garden Answer 2024. Between the dirt lands and the new property (i saw the fences) we are in store for some big changes! Congratulations to you and Aaron on living your dream you deserve nothing but the best
When I go antiquing with my friends, I am always on the lookout for old plates for saucers. I love the crystal looking ones or blue and white, which is my aesthetic. Often, I find them at Habitat, Goodwill or garage sales for pennies. I use them under terra cotta or alone for furniture protection. Something else to look for when you, your mother and Monica have another shopping day!
Also lids from Mayo jars, coffee canisters etc and old Tupperware can be used to keep vintage items clean and protect them from hard water buildup. Just change them out seasonally and give the decorative plates a quick wipe. Keep a supply in an old cookie tin or bag in the potting shed.
So excited about the horses! I kept horses for years and still miss it. It's hard work but worth it. Make sure you can get electricity to water troughs to prevent freezing.
Hi Laura I so enjoyed the music you used while making your floral arrangement it was very relaxing! I am encouraged to do some repotting some of my houseplants and possibly starting some ivy topiaries for Valentines gifts! I can imagine any time in the Hartley would be very therapeutic! Blessings 💖
Hearing the piano music in the background, I wondered if Laura has ever composed a piano composition of her own? In this video, Laura has challenged my vertical and horizonal sense of design. When I saw the candle holder upcycled into a vase that she chose for the beautiful David Austin-ish roses, immediately I envisioned a vertical bouquet and Laura went horizonal. Perfection! Then when I saw the new urn/pots I thought of a horizonal, bushy type plant and Laura chose the Myrtle topiaries. I love how Laura expands my gardening world!
Good morning, Laura, from Windermere, Florida zone 9b Your arrangement is 👍beautiful and well balanced 👌 Happy Gardening Everyone and remember Appreciate more in '24! ❤Peggy❤
Your love and knowledge of plants and how excited you get is so amazing. You are such a great “teacher” and I am learning so much. My mother who has passed 12 years ago was so knowledgeable and had a “green thumb” like you, created my love for plants. It’s nice to have found your platform and to continue to learn and work and create my garden with help from you. Thank you for always teaching and inspiring me. Blessings to you💖💖
Gorgeous bouquet, Laura! Everything you do is superb. I watch every day and never tire of seeing what you and your family create along with Bethany and Paul. Thank you so much❤
I love the English essay roses, mauve & pale pink is so understated. My favorite part - other than glimpsing the adorable cats - is going over each plant after re-potting, each name, & also learning Laura's strategy for watering.
GardenAnswers: Morning Sweet Laura, Smantha Grace, beautiful flowers, love you arrangment.Have a wonderful day.Sending my love and God's special blessings to you all Aaron, and B-man, enjoy your walk together.Wanda
The vast, full window above the sink + counter is so lovely, brilliant. Laura, you're so talented. Your parents were super influences, but, you put your very own stamp on it.
I just LOVE your greenhouse, it's so cozy and BEAUTIFUL.....bright and cheery with everything white and high ceilings, I could be happy living in there !!! 🤩 The arrangement was gorgeous, love the firecracker feel for New Years.
Hey Laura... Have you heard of Jay Schwanke? He is a 4th generation flower shop owner based out of Michigan. He said the petals on the outside of the flower are 1/2 leaf and 1/2 flower. When you pull them off like you did, he said the expectancy of your flower bloom goes down and won't last as long. These flower petals are what helps to feed your flowers. I do understand why you took them off but if you can keep them on it would help your flowers to last longer. He also said if you do pull them off to spray your flowers with Chrysal Professional Glory. It provides a shield to help with evaporation coming out of your flowers to help them last longer. He also said to always cut your flowers on an angel so that when in water they can drink. He says if you cut off straight across that the flowers can't drink. I just thought since you have so many flowers you might like to know about him. He's on RUclips.
I no longer have the sunroom with moving….thank you for helping me bring up it’s comforting memories. And now 20 yrs later will be downsizing once more will be looking for a new home with an eye to maximum windows if no sunroom is available. 💕
Hey Laura! I've watched your videos for years and always love when I can offer up a plant name that you may not be familiar with 😊 That Muehlenbeckia you have is commonly known as the "tapeworm plant" because of its flat stems. It looks like the Latin name was recently changed to be included in the Muehlenbeckia genus which was news to me too! Such a strange plant but super fun to grow. It is a tropical so high humidity and moisture is welcome. Thanks for bringing so much beauty to the world with your passion for plants! ❤
It's a treat watching you shop for plants and yet another treat watching you repot them, like you did today. Ah, those English roses and wax flowers just bring a smile to my face and just love how Aaron always chooses the perfect background music to accompany your creations. Please let Douglas know that he must share camera time with Cheddar and Russell. One more thing, I've never been a fan of bulbs because of the wait period before they bloom but you may have made a convert of me after seeing your Amaryllis collection in their adorned pots; will enjoy seeing them bloom. Thanks again for bringing joy to everyone with your passion for gardening.
Beautiful arrangement. I’m curious if you bought a single bouquet from the store how you would arrange it. With grocery prices so high a $35 splurge is not in the cards for some but $5-$10 is. That would be a fun challenge. Enjoy the day.
I have to water my hands; I mean wash them! You are so in tune with your plants~and you are sweetly funny. You could definitely hang with me anytime. Once again you nailed the rose design. It looks magical!! Thank you for the video!!
I figure late winter blooms on amaryllis are even better than Christmas blooms since the Christmas season already is pretty and decorative, whereas we need a boost of pretty color as the winter wears on.
Drooling over those roses! I did some potting up this morning too. An Amaryllis I got for Christmas and some angel wing begonia cuttings I took from one plant outside (which is still thriving in this crazy warm weather we are having on Vancouver Island.) The cuttings were actually blooming!
Having watched this video, I can understand how enjoyable it must be to putter in the Hartley on a cold day. I would die of heat stroke in a greenhouse here south Texas, haha :) I have seen you pot all the plants in there and the statue head is probably my favorite but many are such cute plants. The flower arrangement is lovely. Thank you for taking time to make a video during your Christmas vacation. Happy New Year to you and yours.
Hi Laura, Hi Aaron, Here is an idea for the winter months: I would love a 'Day in a life of Garden answer' - video to see you process: From recording over file transfer to editing to posting. I would love to get a BTS :)
Laura, have you thought of using plates as a saucer for pots? I found some at a thrift store that were so pretty and curved just right. I feel good about saving them from a landfill and they add a nice style to my pots. I still use saucer but I buy glazed plates that cost a dollar. Thank you for all of your inspiration!
Lovely arrangement of roses! I have never seen those in the grocery store. How fun that you were able to get them. The plants all look so good. Happy New Year Laura and Aaron.🎉
Thank you for sharing. That arrangement is beautiful, and those plants are so awesome. All those plants remind me of my sister. She passed 2 years ago, but everytime I see those types of plants, it really brings me joy. Thank you for sharing tips with plants, planting, and transplanting.
My daughter gave me 2 wax dipped amaryllis this year. I put them in a dough bowl with artificial greenery, and put them under my grow lights. They aren’t very tall but they were glorious for Christmas.
I try using white pots and love the look of them all together on my plant stand. I have 3 amaryllis, oldest is 3 years old. It bloomed first but only lasted a few days so I think it’s about used all its bulb strength. The one year old came next and was gorgeous. The 3rd is the newest , had two bulb stalks and each had 5 blossoms on it, just now starting to fade. So fun to watch and so lovely to add to the holiday cheer. Happy New Year Laura, can’t wait to see what 2024 brings to your beautiful home☃️☃️☃️💕
I watched a video this week about soaking the roots of amaryllis in water for 12-24 hours to make them bloom quicker with bigger blooms. I hope I remember next season just to see. Rose arrangement is beautiful.
Welcome back after Christmas, I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday, your videos were definitely missed but I hope you had a wonderful time with the family
I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone show us how to repot a plant like you just did by putting the original pot in the new pot first and working around it that was really neat. Thank you.
Oh wow just so beautiful are the roses you. got. And the arrangement you did with them just so inspiring and beautiful. Just so good to see you planting up pots with not much todo yet in our gardens. Just looking so much to be in my garden more when springs here.
I love the urns for the myrtles. I’m always looking for urns but I haven’t but looking in the right places. I can’t do that wire vine because of it’s common name. Gives me the Willy’s. Lol I love the white wizard and a plant with Carmel in the name, which I’m waiting to see again.
ahhhh... love putting things in fresh pots .. those roses are stunning!!! and yes, in the mood to clean up, clean out, purge, get organized!! here's to a fun and productive 2024! 🥰❤thanks for the video! 🥰❤
Thank you for explaining about the "wire vine" plant. I was able to look it up and found out all sorts of interesting facts about it. You will need to keep an eye on it so it doesn't overtake an area, as apparently it can grow and vine up to 9 feet! It also loses its leaves and can get pretty little flowers on it. It has many names including ribbon plant, ribbon bush, tapeworm plant, and centipede plant. The best info I found was from the "Laidback Gardener", The February 2022 Houseplant of the month.
I love your creativity and really like that you do not use gardening gloves....I really like to touch the dirt and smell it and feel the plants. What a connection! Happy New Year!
I always look forward to your videos and what you are planting up. Those are 2 beautiful pots that you put the Myrtle in. The bouquet of roses are beautiful.
My armaryllis isn’t do “it’s either. It looks healthy, the soil is good. Not over watering and getting as much sun as is available in there dreary days. It’s just sitting there. After seeing your group, I feel better. We may have a flower eventually. Loved the roses you and Samantha purchased. Lovely in the dull days.
Beautiful….ive a huge amount of eucalyptus as it’s so lovely to be able to just cut your own out the garden….it’s nice having different varieties ,,,the small leaved one is so so pretty
I have the exact same iron urns from 20 years ago , San Diego , I painted them dark green and brushed on iron brown paint to seal them from oxidation erosion . I have an eternal spray of chives in them Year round .
The houseplant repot is something I do at years end every year for any plant that needs it. They always seem to improve after new soil and new pots. Hope yours do as well.
Beautiful arrangement! I see New fench up & old fench down! Can't wait for you and Aaron to share your new property update! I see a pool, a horse or 2 and a new barn for storage and a new production greenhouse!! 😅
Love the Roses they look beautiful my daughter-in-law gave me a climbing rose David Austin the wedgewood I hope it likes my weather I live in Brownsville Texas God bless you and your family👍😊🌹🌹🌳🌳🌿🙏
Lovely arrangement of roses Laura. The wax flower is called Geraldton Wax. It originates from a town called Geraldton on the west coast of Australia, which is actually the town I grew up in. They grow wild there, as do sunflowers 🌻
As an Australian it was lovely to see 2 of our native plants in the floral arrangement. The Wax flowers and the eucalyptus leaves.
Great information! We loved our time in Australia and would love to come back! 🦘
Thank you for sharing that! I love your country and would love to visit someday! 🇦🇺
So stunning! Love watching you arrange plants and flowers!!
@suefromoz1913 I would have stayed there, Geraldton, forever! Australia (minus the big, scary insects et al) is what I envision heaven to be.

Transplanting houseplants always feels like a worthy accomplishment. I always enjoy when you spend time in the Hartley, thanks for taking us along. 🪴
"Our" Hartley. Our viewing time paid for that hartley lol its ours too she just keeps it safe and pretty for us 😂
Those flowers look like they’re from Trader Joe’s , they seem to always carry English roses , love getting flowers from them . All of the plants you repotted are so pretty . That is a beautiful flower arrangement! I worked 20+years as a floral designer. You must be talented like your sweet Mom .☺️. ❤ From Georgia

I use old plates too
They look so sweet under a potted plant
They don't scratch surfaces and are waterproof
I do the same. All white pots in my west window and white vintage plates for saucers.
I use glass or crystal plates and pie plates from the thrift store under my house plants. You don't even notice them.
Laura and Aaron, your videos are never the same. That's why we like to see your doings every day
So excited about the horses! I kept horses for years and still miss it. It's hard work but worth it. Make sure you can get electricity to water troughs to prevent freezing.

I think if you were to put the floral arrangement in one of the cast iron pots, it would be beautiful
. It reminds me of a floral painting

I love, love love this!!!!!? What a beautiful arrangement!!!!!!!
Eternal rest, grant unto her mom, O' Lord . . .
I lost my mom in 2013. She also had a green thumb. Gardening has been my comfort when I miss her.

Loved watching the floral arrangement come to life, and the music was so soothing. Thank you for starting my day off with beauty and calm. ♥

Laura as always thankyou for taking us planting. Being in the Hartley brings joy to our soul. Cheers
Hi Laura, Hi Aaron, Here is an idea for the winter months: I would love a 'Day in a life of Garden answer' - video to see you process: From recording over file transfer to editing to posting. I would love to get a BTS :)
Beautiful rose arrangement makes me long for spring. The Hartley is so beautiful and I love when you film in it. Thanks for sharing ❤
I'm super envious of your greenhouse. Being able to pot houseplants during the winter without using the kitchen table would be such a joy!
This has been an unusual winter for many of us. Zone 8b and my ranunculus and freesia are already emerging vigorously.
Gotta love Douglas behind Laura peering in the Hartley window!
Love the rose arrangement...you really have amazing talent❤
Wow sure don’t know how those roses ended up in a grocery store! Your arrangement is Stunning 🤩 thank you Laura!
Oh, how I long for summer. I am ready to see your beautiful roses and other flowers. I love the new containers!!
Thank you for sharing. That arrangement is beautiful, and those plants are so awesome. All those plants remind me of my sister. She passed 2 years ago, but everytime I see those types of plants, it really brings me joy. Thank you for sharing tips with plants, planting, and transplanting.
very inspiring. I see these often, but have never thought of doing my own centerpiece.
The rose arrangement is stunning . I picked roses out of my yard yesterday it was just wanted I needed.
Love this repurposed candle holder. This bouquet is soooo beautiful and romantic
Hi Laura! The arrangement turned out pretty. Thank you so much for sharing!
The rose arrangement is so beautiful! Those iron urns are incredibly gorgeous! Perfect for the Myrtle.💕
Hello Laura ..🎄🤍🎄
Lovely winter Roses
Arrangements 💐
Good morning, Laura ☕️ Looked like a perfect day to me. Enjoyed watching. Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈🐈
My daughter gave me 2 wax dipped amaryllis this year.
Good morning!🌻🐝
Happy New Year, everyone!!!
I watched a video this week about soaking the roots of amaryllis in water for 12-24 hours to make them bloom quicker with bigger blooms. I hope I remember next season just to see. Rose arrangement is beautiful.
How fun! Yes, definitely good time for reorganizing areas. Been at it also. Have a lovely day!
Those urns with the Myrtles look stunning.
Laura, your arrangements are always so lovely!
Welcome back after Christmas, I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday, your videos were definitely missed but I hope you had a wonderful time with the family
Such beautiful colors Just gorgeous roses a breathe of Spring in the cold winter❤
Oh, the roses are gorgeous! I never find those in my area!
Beautiful plants and pots. Love the urns! Have a blessed weekend 💕✨💕
The harley is full of beautiful plantas and that gorgeous flower arrangement ❤ good work Laura.
Lol
I love the white wizard and a plant with Carmel in the name, which I’m waiting to see again.
I'm not really interested in houseplants but spending time in the "she shed" is always fun! Especially when there's glimpses of the yard beyond.
ahhhh... love putting things in fresh pots .. those roses are stunning!!! and yes, in the mood to clean up, clean out, purge, get organized!! here's to a fun and productive 2024! 🥰❤thanks for the video! 🥰❤
That arrangement is absolutely gorgeous!
Always fun watching you in the Hartley. I’ve learned so much since I’ve been watching.
Good morning from Delaware Garden Answer friends.
Good morning to you. I'm from New Castle!

I love your creativity and really like that you do not use gardening gloves....I really like to touch the dirt and smell it and feel the plants. What a connection! Happy New Year!
I just love to start my morning with a Garden Answer video 🌞🌱🍀. Good morning from Maryland 🦀
Such a beautiful rose arrangement and the plants you repotted look so amazing. Great video.
I always look forward to your videos and what you are planting up. Those are 2 beautiful pots that you put the Myrtle in. The bouquet of roses are beautiful.
Good morning! Nice to see you & everyone is doing well. Hope you had a great Christmas with the family!
As usual Laura, beautiful arrangement ❤. I cut pieces of garden fabric to cover large holes in containers and works great.

I enjoyed this . I must say , I really love the greenhouse!
Your plants are absolutely gorgeous ❤
The flower arrangement is so pretty! Love the house plants, thanks for taking us along!
I have the exact same iron urns from 20 years ago , San Diego , I painted them dark green and brushed on iron brown paint to seal them from oxidation
erosion . I have an eternal spray of chives in them Year round .
The houseplant repot is something I do at years end every year for any plant that needs it. They always seem to improve after new soil and new pots. Hope yours do as well.
I love the flower arrangement and the repotting. The new pots and saucers are really nice.
