You would avoid leaf spotting all your plants in there. It would slow the mineralization of the terracotta pots. Just a suggestion.

I put them in the garage with No water. They were dry as a bone when I realized they didn't have a tuber. I decided to just bring the twigs inside & pot them up around my dracena b4 xmas. 🌱Laura, what you called a pink stem at 6:57 is named a Midrib. From the Georgia 4H, these are the parts of a leaf:
    • Blade: consists of the apex, margin, veins, midrib, and base. It is the large, flat part of the
    leaf where photosynthesis occurs.
    • Apex: tip of the leaf
    • Margin: edge of the leaf
    • Veins: carry food/water throughout leaf; act as a structure support
    • Midrib: thick, large single vein along the midline of the leaf
    • Base: bottom of the leaf
    • Petiole: the stalk that joins a leaf to the stem; leafstalk
    • Stipule: the small, leaf-like appendage to a leaf, usually found in pairs at the base of the
    petiole

I just repotted a few of my houseplants yesterday. It only cost about $3 for the new soil. I threw away the coolest Rattle Snake that had mildew or fungus. So bummed about that loss. It helps me to hear about how you handle your plants water needs and bug issues. It’s hard for me to tell if the plants are suffering from not enough water or too much. Apparently my observation skills could use a boost. I also need to work on adding drain holes to the pots. Thanks for the tour in the beautiful Hartley! So heartwarming to see the cats ❤ 😂 (Please feel free to add more videos about common issues with house plants 🪴 How to tell if the plant needs more sun, less sun, more water or less water and what types of fungus issues etc.) Also, I started gifting Amaryllis at Christmas last year and I love getting photos sent to me around this time. Good morning from North Carolina. I love having my morning coffee and listening to your videos. Seeing your head planter again reminded me of that video and the head planter that I did with my husband. It lives on our screened porch most of the year, but is in the sunroom right now. I am sure it is anxious for spring. Thank you so much.

I love your plants. I just about died seeing the string of Pearls twice I bought them and planted them in a small shallow pot and they keep dying, even though I thought I was giving them all the means to survive light air water. But they do not seem to like my surroundings. I also had the ficus and split-leaf philodendron and they don't like my house either. The Peace Lily loves my house and seems to be the only thing that wants to live here. Thank you for sharing your plants they are beautiful!

That plant next to the Amaryllis is a Monstera Deliciosa. The Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma is not a Monstera, although some people call it a Mini Monstera. The Philodendron White Knight, Pink Princess, etc, need poles to climb and humidity. For the 2 Philodendron you have that are struggling, remove them from the pot and water, inspect the roots. If black, they are rotting. Cut off that part, treat and then you can re-plant to rehab them. The Ficus Klingon and Anastasia- they are Ficus Benjamina. I don’t know how ProveWinners comes up with those names 😂. The Bromeliad only blooms once, so the babies will be the next ones to bloom once they get big enough. Be careful with the cactus with glochids, moving the plant can make some dislodge and fly, so painful.

Love seeing all the beauty inside the Hartley and the snow beauty outside! (My favorite way to experience snow! Videos and pics.) Have you thought of moving the table to the center where the Christmas tree was? Then you could do more of the stacking plant racks along the sides where the table currently is and have more abundant plant space. And it appears you’d have plenty of traffic space around the table for easy movement. Hope you’re feeling better and that the whole family continues to heal and improve. We love y’all and are grateful that you share so much of your life with us.

Our area changed to zone 7a this year from zone 6b. We’ve had a few nights in the past 10 days that have dropped below zero. With wind chills way below zero. I’ve kept my hydrangeas covered as well as my butterfly bush. Last year the polar blast killed my butterfly bush and got the buds on my hydrangeas. I’m praying they will be ok this year.

Thank you so much, Laura, Aaron for going through all the plants in the Hartley. When watching videos that you film in the Hartley, I'm listening to you but can't help but look in the background at how lovely your plants are looking and maybe a few might not be so lovely but it's encouraging because sometimes I have some of the same plants that are suffering and when you talk about those it helps me to check and adjust what to do. For the longest time I thought that limey sage green training plant was a type of Helichrystum, so maybe one day I'll see in my local garden nursery. I like the open space and how you set up your plants in Hartley...can't wait for the replant videos! Hope Benjamin and Samantha Grace enjoyed their birthday celebrations!

Laura, beautiful plants in your Heartley! Philodendrons look great! A repotting video would be so cool. Girl, it's super cold and you are wearing flip flop kinda shoes!!!!! Do you walk in those to your house or do you change them to go outside. I am a South Florida girl, maybe that is why I am so surprised. Monstera Deliciosas cuttings grow so easily. The ones without fenestrations belong to your plants. Monstera's cuttings grow leaves according to their age. If you get a cutting from an old one, the fenestrations will be more. Loved this video. I have in my garden now, so many of those plants!

If you ever break the top off a dracaena, tuck it into some soil at the base of the plant. They root super easy from cuttings.

@absurdistsloth you might just have to order it from somewhere. Or your local nursery might be able to get them in on a houseplant load if you ask.

    So picturesque!
I have the same plant..I believe it’s a monstera, in the rainforest the fenestration of the leaves help the plant with rain and wind. Yours is happy for sure! 1:42

You can cut the lanky branches on the geraniums back. They will thicken up. Put the cut off bits into soil and some will probably root and grow. That's what i do with my geraniums that are outside here in Queensland.
