As a plus size guy myself... the special treatment we need is exercise and diet... and stop asking for random crazy shit.
I admire your attitude.
I wish you to lose all the pounds you want and be as fit as you want.
I fully agree with this statement. Its not that these people are 'plus sized' either. Plus sized would be a few points above the normal BMI . . . she's at least double what her BMI should be. Society isn't doing the morbidly obese any favors by supporting their unhealthy lifestyle.
Being overweight carries potential medical complications, and that must be generally agreed upon. It does not justify verbal abuse towards them, nor glorification of plus sizes.
Athletes are willing to master the games they play, models are willing to loose weight to look good, actors are willing to learn lines and perform them well. However, “plus sized models” are willing to sit and complain that they aren’t treated special
What kind of world do we even live in anymore
A strange surreal world.
LOL but the whole idea of looking good is fake to begin with. Not saying fat is healthy but hardly is a skinny model or a world class athlete considered "normal" or what humans should look like. Plus size probably isn't either. I think you guys are kind of missing the whole point that you're getting offended by someone suggesting something, but you seem to think that your views asto what people should look like are correct somehow.
Train your staff to use a defibrillator literally had me laughing out loud 😂
He' s going for s second piece of pie, starting warming up the defibrillator!
No.
This shouldn't even warrant a conversation. There are far more serious issues we need to contend with, such as the normalization of obesity which is a serious risk to our country and our broken healthcare system.
This behavior and entitlement needs to be purged from American society.
Stop complaining to force the majority of the country to accommodate your poor life decisions.
Take personal responsibility.
Thanks Scott for spreading awareness and doing so positively while taking a stand.
What makes me sad is how the normalization of obesity is also affecting a large percentage of American kids.
@@Dah42 Pharma and the food industry are largely responsible for this (lobbying) but a counter current is pushing back on this in more school districts it would seem. We need to set the example at home though. 😉
Got a plus size seated next to me on a flight, he was literally occupying his seat and half of mine, this is not fair, I had to get another seat, lucky me there was another spare seat... he should pay 2 seats... nobody's shoving food down his pipe
Was it Del Griffith?
Lol that almost happened to me on a flght back from tialand to UK.. 14 hour flight! And I'm literally up every hour to go to loo or stretch legs. Thank Holly god the flight was not full and there was a spare seat behind me!! I moved before the plain even took off!! Lol
@@carlodonn8983Unfortunately this is more common than we think..
@@larryb4598 hey, c'mon, his dogs were barking.
Maybe it makes me a bad person, but I am definitely fat-phobic. I get grossed out. I never make a comment, I just can’t stand this kind of behavior.
you sound normal, and can contain your feelings appropriately.
100% normal. It's disgusting. I don't make comments either, but I don't certainly look at them
Normally I have no problem watching a whole video you have, but this time, I can't listen to her talk. I'm so sick and tired of these people literally just trying to make a name for themselves. They don't really give a f*ck about other people, they only care about themselves, and the attention they can create for themselves. I'm totally over these kind of people. She knows full well that the World is not going to accommodate her 1% personal behaviors.
It does seem like it might be done for clout which is pretty sad
Honestly I agree with several of her 'demands' not because I'm plus size but because I'm 6'4" with mobility difficulty. I would love to be able to navigate through narrow restaurants and move tables but I know it's always about the bottom line. And making these changes potentially reduces their ability to make more money.
Is your difficulty with mobility due to your height? If so, would you be willing to trade 10 inches of your height for increased mobility? I wonder because, on the one hand, you face mobility challenges, but on the other hand, you're very tall, and many women are fascinated by men of your height.
Isn't that whys there's disabled access, parking, seating areas ect for people with mobility issues so they can get around easy ? Most places, even restraunts have wheelchair seating ect.
Being fat isn't a disability so if they have issues getting around they just need to eat less.
My issues come from a combination of military service and side effects of past cancer treatments.
As for disabled access, given my past experience I try not to take wheelchair access away from an actual user. But even with disabled access many places are lacking.
@@Dah42no shit he would
Scott you're forgetting they might be the 1% but they eat as much as the 50%
The entitlement is real.
That much girth can't be healthy for anyone. I have a neuromuscular disability & must wear an AFO on my left ankle all the time (thus keeping the ankle fixed at a right angle) & sure, that along with my paralysis/weakness issues on one side of my body can make getting in/out of tight spaces challenging, but I DEAL WITH IT. Likewise, this minority should take better care of themselves. I think your assessment is spot on, Scott.
Right on Aaron. Kudos to you for making the best of your situation, it must be tough but at least you’re not letting it define you!
Bro when you don’t fit in a camera frame like her you know it’s badd
I mean Ronnie Coleman wouldn't fit either back in the day, lol.
@@gibbsm he wasn't a healthy individual either
@@cabrondemente1 That level bodybuilding is not a health endeavor, so yeah, he knows, I know, everyone that pays attention to that stuff knows.

"Lay off me I'm starvin'!"
I can’t imagine being so large that you don’t fit into a chair…. then thinking that it’s someone else’s problem!
It’s a wild world we live in!
Well said..
Not trying to be funny, but maybe this is her opportunity to start her own restaurant chain using the suggestions she's mentioning? 🤔
Maybe you’re right! Then we can see if her business model is plausible!
That reminds me of the Simpsons episode King Sized Homer where he complains to the movie theater manager because they wouldn't let him watch the movie because he was too big for the seats.
All restaurant seating should include built in exercise bikes that you have to pedal or the food is taken away.
GOAT🎉😂
I died 😆
Let’s accommodate them, when me (6’1” 175) books a plus size seat because I want to sit cross legged and meditate like I’m raiden. Don’t jump on my case about it.
Lol! Paying for that premium seat!
Restaurants should provide them enough space... And that should be outside....
Scooooooooot - still loving that you’re still making content!!!
With all the free information about weight loss
There is no excuse to be that plus
I get it its a little harder for some people
Just study harder
Number 7, to have a booth big enough for her, I might not be able to reach my drink at the table. She should lose weight to be comfortable instead of demanding I be uncomfortable.
"there is a bunch of us coming, we're all 500 lbs" Lol
Don’t understand how “plus size” people didn’t look at themselves in the mirror at one time and think
“I’m starting to gain quite a bit of weight. I should start watching what I eat and start exercising before I get any bigger”
because in a lot of cases the fatness comes from eating as a coping mechanism with depression, literally, they think "All I have is food" so they wont' ever consider eating less (or better)
Solution number 11...buy bigger mirrors...
@@michaelthreepeat buy REAL mirrors not that tells what they want to hear/see.
Media and advertisers plopping obese people in ads as "big is beautiful". Obesity is being normalized as more and more of the pop becomes heavier. More money flowing through the economy I guess. Extra food, clothing, medical bills.
Going to a restaurant should not require the pre planning of a month long global trip.
IIRC, she's also the same person that expects special treatment etc on flights. Greg D did a video on that. To me, blind or wheelchair people need/ deserve "special treatment" to help accommodate them, and I say that as someone that HAS a disability. If you're morbidly obese, by your own choice, then no. In essence, she wants the world to change for her, because she's too weak to change herself.
Man, couldn’t have put it better myself, you hit the nail on the head with her wanting others to change because she won’t change herself!
The only special treatment I want as a plus size person is, larger portion sizes for the meals.
That exists. Just order another meal
Literally feeding the core issue.
Make any changes you want to aeroplanes, restaurants, anywhere. But when it comes to paying you pay based on weight, so the fatter you are the more you pay, to pay for the reduced seating space in a restaurant, the reduced number of passengers on a plane etc. Base it on the BMI bands if you want, every band you go up costs 1.25x the standard rate.
I mean, I wouldn’t do it based on the weight or BMI.. then bodybuilders would be punished as well lol!
@@ScottHermanFitness no, its different, you cant compare morbidly fatasses with BB or powerlifters!
I’m sure she also feels entitled to a guy who’s six feet tall, has six-pack abs and makes six figures 🙄
Also pretty sure there’s a lineup of simps who can’t wait to wife her up, but she’s probably poly. 🤪
The magic number.... 666
She is lucky to get a guy with a pulse.
@@larryb4598 one would think that wouldn’t they, but look at My 600 lb. Life, pretty much any chick who wants a boyfriend can get one
I own a few restaurants and you're dead right with everything related to space. If the regulatory entities only allow me to seat X amount of people you best believe I'm using that space to the fullest. We always try our best to satisfy individual customers and their needs but there will always be a prevalence on how we can optimize the experience for everyone and the space is specifically designed to leave enough room for staff/customers to walk around freely and not feel cluttered and not many people would be willing to sacrifice that flow for a plus sized person's special requests.
Restaurants serve people, not land whales. They don't have to waste money to accommodate those who will be 6 to 8 feet under in couple years.
Biggest thing on me are my ta ta’s not apologizing for that!! 😅 LOL
Hey Scott, love your content man! I hope you and your family have a great weekend!
Plus size people expect special treatment everywhere. After one year in hospital In 2020 I was terribly skinny and TRUST ME, people where not shying off from commenting “you need to eat more” ... I’m very sick of this fat acceptance thing.
Tough one. I'm neither a plus size, nor a expert on this matter.
"Fit" people have the ability to be dedicated and focused on the "Healthy" lifestyle. Plus size people" have a different relationship with food. Some have medical concerns.
Hard to criticize anyone not knowing what health conditions/ experiences in their lives got them to that point.
Doesn't mean that the world needs to change to accomodate their needs
Would these places also accommodate their ceilings, doorways, restroom facilities, etc. for individuals of ALL height ranges? 🤷
So true! Not likely!
“Plus size” people don’t deserve special treatment. If I get hardly any extra help with a real disability, why should someone get extra just for being fat.
Hey Scott. How are you doing mate? Hope you are doing fine
So my comment or a question is a bit different from the context of the video but since the comment section of your channel if quite respectful i would like to comment and ask.
I really get pissed off at times when i see guys who have had the same training experience as me lifting more or putting on more muscle mass without taking proper diet. Meaning i am literally slogging my ass to put on 1 pound of muscle everyday yet i see a guy who puts half the work if not less than me achieving more.
Even in my teenage i lived a relatively healthy lifestyle slept 8 hrs was physically active and played sports did MMA and Hand to Hand combat yet i am ended being only 5'3. And i saw other guys who literally did nothing achieve growth and height far more than me. And trust me though i am 24 whenver i think abt these moments even now it pisses me off.
It felt like all the hardwork dedication that i put in went to them.
Anyway my main point is it does really pisses me off when i see people who have had the same training experience as me achieving more. Or achieving with putting in less work.
dude just stop comparing yourself to others, it's not that deep bro
Look into Mike Mentzer
I mean, places should deffinitely have accomodation with people who have spcecial needs, genetic disabilities, movement issues etc... but requiring restaurants to cater specifically to morbidly obese fat people? Surely being limited to where you can eat out is just a basic social consequence of treating your body so terribly?
Trying being married to a 5' 2" left-handed woman. The world was not built for short lefties, lol
I will just pick apart one of her "solutions" Solution 5, if a restaurant puts a chair weight bearing load in writing and someone comes in and breaks it because of their girth they can and will sue the restaurant. These people are already sue happy, no need to give them another reason.
Booth seating can accommodate 2 to 3 people happily. Larger person, only one and it is ideal, unless the table is bolted to the floor.
They do it on planes too. Airlines these days don't accomdate the larger person, they want more seats not less.
People should just endorse being healthy. Let’s go ahead and bring down the sugar companies
Obesity should be punishable by law.
the entitlement of these people is amazing
Yes, that's right; we all need to accommodate you and the choice you made to get that big and stay that big for years to come
Crazy right?!
If you are plus size the only thing you should be allowed too order is a salad.
I died laughing when you said when making reservations let them know you are having 500 pound people are coming.
Bless my mother, she is pass on now but I remember back in the 70s being embarrassed of my mother who was morbid obese. She was the odd one who was. I didnt notice anyone who was. Now days in comparison she wouldn't stand out so anymore.
Only half way through the video but something tells me she doesn’t include the option of choosing to lose weight by diet and exercise. Having been a plus size person and losing 60kg, life is so much better in many ways and some in unmeasurable ways. It’s much better than receiving plus sized seating.
It makes me sad that people like this think the solution should be larger seating at restaurants. Working out is so great for you physically and mentally. The gym is my therapy when I've had a really rough day. I wish more people would focus their energy on bettering themselves rather than demand the world change to accommodate them. Love the vid, Scott. Keep up the great work. 💪♥️
You need to consider there are many people that are fat because of metabolic disorders, not all of them eat a lot and sit on their butt all day.
Many people forget or dont realize that very obese people have a serious life altering addiction. The problem is society has altered to cheering on and embracing food junkies, while still pushing away and shunning drug addicts. Yes, food junkies can still function in society, but all kinds of changes and adjustments have to be made to accommodate them (major changes in healthcare and/or costs, "handicap" everything, larger seats at sporting events/buses/trains/planes, clothing lines and magazines, and styles pressured to change for their disabilities. Meanwhile the people who have been "doing it right" their whole lives feel like they are left out or worse, punished for practicing healthier habits.
Why are healthcare prices as high as they are? Sure, corporate greed plays a role, but the amount of obese and grossly obese people has risen greatly, causing healthcare prices to skyrocket as well. So then again, the people doing "it right" suffer.
That being said, im all for people being who they are, but just like I'm wouldn't prop up someone screaming how strong they are, while also pumping chemicals in their body to assist with that, i also wouldnt prop up an addict who is unwilling to make a change in their lifestyle choices.
Only issue is several restaurants say they accommodate ADA but do not. We have a family member that is young & uses a walker. There is not enough turn around width, this is a normal sized person, or the bathroom door opens out, no a push in, but no where for him to move in order to open the door. I agree with your plus size observations but I think ADA is a whole other ball game that is sadly not adhered to.
There is an old proverb. “It’s easier to put slippers on your feet than carpet the entire world.”
May I introduce my fellow obese people to Saxenda? It wrecks your appetite, and makes you want to stop eating. And it's less risky than Ozempic thanks to its much shorter half-life. If you get bad reactions, it's out of your system the next day.
Our biggest issue is not being able to stop. Every meal, every snack, anytime. Our next biggest issue is an overwillingness to start eating. On Saxenda you have decisions. If you need a few days a week where you need that control, take it those days. If you need full time control, take it every day, or almost every day. But even on the days you don’t take it, the learned self-control sorta sticks. You can stretch a $380 box to 5 months if you use small doses and/or skip days. A small price to pay for regaining control of your life. Heck, you'll probably save that much on fast food snacks.
Here are some suggestions how to make people in all sizes feel more comfortable eating at your restaurant- names only things about obese people
Accurate!
"I hope to educate owners" - the victim that knows their narrative is a threat and this isnt educational
Every business owner has a right to choose his own clients to make his company prosper. It is like if vegans force steakhouses to have tofu steaks on the menu, so they can go there.
I thought I’d have a good laugh, but most of what she said was actually reasonable…
I'm 6'3 and 260lb, and whilst I have 30% body fat I have a shit load of muscle. I don't fit in most places that fat people also don't fit. (Though it's usually my shoulders that are too wide over my ass) It's annoying. There's a fine line between places (like airplanes) taking the piss and giving you not enough space, and just accepting that us big folks take more space. I have never personally complained about space even if I take up 1.5 seats on the bus etc... so I stand. I don't think we should cater to the morbidly obese but I don't think it hurts adopting some more inclusive measures.
Just watched a documentary that came out on Ickonic today talking about this problem. It is refreshing to come by two pieces of media speaking the truth on this. If everyone seeing this problem says nothing then nothing will change. Thank you Scott!
Using their logic we should also accommodate tobacco smokers and carry oxygen tanks around for them just in case they run out.
Don’t change all the tables to punish responsible people, just put one plus sized table in the back near the bathroom 😮
The only reason to accomodate obese people more is if the restaurant gains on it, such as being situated in an area with mostly obese people. Or generally having a business model targeting them. Otherwise they can do whatever they want and it's nobodys place to question it.
What's wrong with metal gratting on outdoor chairs?
Yeah I have no idea lol
Scott have you ever offered your services as a personal trainer to any of these fat influencers? You'd be doing them a great service if they'd accept your help.
I don't agree that restaurants should make concessions, but I do understand that sometimes establishments aren't accommodating for folks with larger frames.
Here's the thing though. You don't go to bed skinny one night and wake up huge the next day. You see it coming, it doesn't sneak up on you. It's common knowledge that obesity is bad for your health and personal hygiene, and there is a litany of resources out there on how to diet and exercise. In some cases, yeah, maybe there is a medical issue tilting the scale against you like a Thyroid imbalance. If you make an earnest effort to exercise consistently and eat properly and nothing changes, see a doctor, get to the bottom of it. Don't sit back and let what you eat, eat you.
Scott your Videos are great can you please compare bb reverse incline Bench press with bb reverse bench press vs incline bench press
A McDonald's model?
Obesity is NOT a natural human condition. It's a relatively modern malaise. You wouldn't' have seen any obese hunter gatherers! Effectively it's a lifestyle choice, and I say that as a 68 year old man that was overweight for much of his adult life. I would never body shame anyone but I have always taken responsibility for my own condition and have always been aware of what I personally could do to change it. Expecting businesses to go to extra expense to accommodate the personal lifestyle choice of a small minority of the population who have chosen and are content to stay obese is absurd.
Hey Saiyan!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I actually like armrests on my chairs. 🤷
Same though I don’t mind them without!
Just one word: MONEY!
What do you think it will cost to renovate THE ENTIRE interior to gain 1% more customers? Do they eat 99 times as much? And also wider interior does COST space. That means you can receive less costomers in general, which reduces your income even more.
If we would live in Star Trek or whatever and there would be a 3 meters tall alien race, who wants to go to restaurans, I can understand it. They CAN NOT change their body size, but you can do it! If you dont want to, visit restaurants with owners having too much money to build enough space for you. Hearing the story in the beginning with the BBQ restaurant, there seem to be such places.
Food business is not like IT, where you and all your staff can become millionairs. Even if a restaurant is decently successful, you wont get rich there, especially not the staff working at minimum wage. Def. line crossed...
If this person visits Austria, she will have difficulties with the toilet seats, as these are only designed for people under 150 kg.
At least she didn't ask for parking space to be bigger.
Why is this an issue for plus size people, what about bodybuilders that are bigger than the average person or strongman like Eddie Hall (the Beast), or go to the other side why not accommodate people who are smaller like people around 5ft tall and cannot reach the table or place their feet comfortably on the floor when sitting.
Small or average people cannot change their body to accommodate different seating but plus size people can so they need to get a grip and understand they choose to be like that so we don’t have to accommodate just their needs, if you go somewhere to eat and it does not suit your requirements then go somewhere else, that’s what I do and I’m just an average guy.
I feel like this is only applicable, for the most part, for American restaurants due to our obesity problem. This woman wouldn’t be able to navigate restaurants in Japan at all.
Love the emphasis on PLUS SIZE
He should just be saying fat, there is no such thing as plus size, you're just a tub of lard

the entitlement of that tip taker is unreal, there are building codes that have requirements for restrooms etc. if you exceed that then it is on you. A pivot in content? I’m down for it

Ridiculous. How about instead of demanding others to meet her preferences, demand herself to change for the good of herself and others around her? If she thinks restaurants are too small for plus size people, she should go live in Europe or Asia for a few months and get a proper perspective. Oh but she probably can't cuz she can't fit on an airplane. Try swimming there then maybe by then she will able able to fit on a plane to return to America.
Most places have disabled access, parking, seating areas ect for people with mobility issues or disabilities. Most places, even restraunts have ramps, lifts ect and seating near the entrance to make it easier for them.
Being fat isn't a disability so if they have issues getting around or sitting they just need to eat less. People can't help being born with disabilities and you definitely aren't born overweight. This shouldn't be normalised and they shouldn't being using disability ramps or lifts or using a disabled toilet just because they are to fat to walk up some stairs or fit in a toilet stall and places shouldn't change just to make overweight people feel comfortable..
It's unhealthy, gross and isn't something to make normal.
She needs to put her fork down.
thank you for telling it like it is bro...i could not agree more...and it was worth it even if its demonetized by RUclips
I'm digging the Barbara Walters interview style of the slight blurriness of your face. Stay young :)
Put lots of chairs, and charge them for a two seater.
Maybe just have labels on Google maps (plus size friendly) this stops any restaurants having to change and they can go to the places that are able to accommodate
Are they willing to pay more for the food so the restaurant can accommodate them? Ah, I don't think so.
Totally agree.....
Plus size should refer to people up to 50 lbs overweight, past that should have a more honest label. I’m 65 and I’m in good shape but my children aren’t. The diet that these young people eat and drink is ridiculous. I’m in Texas where all my peers look like they’re going to drop a calf sometime this week.
I think to your point about these accommodations being unavailable in other countries, that kind of sums up the problem. I think as space and money are available, any possible accomodations should be made for people. But there are a lot of places where that's basically impossible due to existing architecture. I think it would be nice if the government was more inclined to spend money on helping the ADA or people with mental disabilities, or obese people, but they spend most money on war. So that's also one of the main problems.
Any time I hear someone call on society to widen for them, I call on them to narrow themselves instead.
What about all football player, basket ball people
Body builders and on and on and on
THEY NEVER COMPLAINED
Right on man! Yet all these plus size models seem to complain a lot!
Atleast in US its not less than 1% that are obese but rather it seems like nearly 40% of population that is obese(due to multiple factors) it really seems like if anything US food industry needs to learn portion control and people need to start eating less of garbage(fast food). Also wokes getting pissed off at the world is not worth raising BP or spending time.
Its actually sad seeing someone like that walk around and pretend as if their weight is normal, you know its likely they arent making it to their 50s. And we have internet now where theres so much information and resources to help in weight loss theres really no excuse for this unless its medical which I doubt..
