      Good morning Jamie, I see remotes for sale on line that can be installed on your trailer. If you have a Doolittle trailer, call their parts dept to learn if they have one for your trailer.
      Once you have one you wont believe the convenience it offers. -Bill

    Put hockey puck in your front corner . Under dump box keep metal from rubber underneath. I put hockey board on my bottom trailer, own thing it’s very slippery. Good for stuff slide out .

    Nice review. Time for an update after the fall chores? I wonder what unexpected uses you found for the trailer. So far, firewood is one thing that I hadn't anticipated.

    • @billburkhart
      @billburkhart  2 года назад +1

      Good morning Steep Climb. This summer my primary use of the dump trailer was hauling 1 inch clean gravel for retainage walls and driveway topping. Otherwise, your spot on as firewood cutting season is started I’ll use it for some firewood for my nephew. The only other task that I’m going to do is haul clay to make some small repairs on my pond after contacting several contractors I said I would like to come and pick some up since I have a trailer that will allow me to get a few ton 5 or 6 ton and that would be enough for my pond repair. Otherwise it’s hard to put a price on the value of owning your own trailer so its available when you need it.
      Thanks for taking time to comment hope you have a nice fall stay in touch.-Bill

      Good morning Vince, the remote came with the trailer, however I’ve found them for sale. I’ll go find that and get back to you.

      Vince the remote is from KTI part KWR 003-02-12. I see Amazon sells these.

    Bill, I have a question about the connecting board at the end above your barndoors. What will you do when hauling brush and logs? If you haul taller loads, dumping might me harder. Could you explain how you have that set up.
    As for your canvas, what would you say about putting a pipe at the end of the canvas that would hook into the stock tarp location.
    Hope you can make the fixes that will get that trailer to YOUR EXACT SPECS. Have fun.

    • @billburkhart
      @billburkhart  2 года назад

      Andrew Hello, good eye regarding the 2x above the barn doors. I need to only remove 4 screws and that board will come off. I put the board there to make the sides stronger. I like your idea about adding the pipe to the tarp and securing it to the trailer. I'll work on that over winter, thanks for the idea.

    • @andrewbrenneman9592
      @andrewbrenneman9592 2 года назад +1

      @@billburkhart new idea for you think over. Replace stock tarp with heavier one and install "rubber rope" through the eyelets (skipping in & out to stretch down to the side hooks - if your trailer is equipped) so that the heavier tarp drapes over the sides.
      I'm hoping to buy myself a dump trailer this year. I don't want to jinx myself on that. Lol.
      Happy New Year from Oregon.

      Happy New Year Andrew, Good thoughts. I’ll keep your ideas in mind after it warms up a bit this Spring. Do you see much days of below zero in your area?

    • @andrewbrenneman9592
      @andrewbrenneman9592 2 года назад

      @@billburkhart no. We get as low as 20, occasionally teens. But it is warming up and the dusting of snow I had is all gone. Now just dealing with rain and flood warnings for a couple of small rivers. Flooding that is going onto agricultural fields. I'm about 650-700 feet about sea level.

    I always enjoy your videos, Bill. Great mods you did to your dump trailer. Hope you can find J-hooks a bit longer to meet your needs. Nice work on the 2x12 side rails. They really make the trailer more useable for gravel and dirt hauling. Have a fine week. 👍🏽🙂

    I appreciate your videos about your dump trailer and admire how well you take care of your trailer and equiptment. Do you have a good lock that you use for that trailer with the removable coupler? Thanks!

    • @billburkhart
      @billburkhart  2 года назад

      Hi Ben, Happy Monday. Are you asking me if I have a lock for the remote? If so, it goes dead in about 30 minutes and cannot be used until activated. I keep the remote on my keychain. Have a great week and thanks for the kind comments. - Bill
