This is legitimately one of the coolest builds I've seen on RUclips. I almost wish I had a dark basement so I had an excuse to replicate this in my house. Well done sir!
Couple questions, 1. How do you do the settings to view the picture to that angle instead of the traditional way? 2. What did you do to have the video play like that on 3 different tv’s and where did you get the streaming video?
@stevenpermann2242....I have the same questions ‼️ He makes completing these projects easy, but they look like a lot of work. Specially the dog house built I just saw. Truly talented‼️ Love these TV 📺 windows and to watch sporting events, movies, etc‼️
well, im only three minutes in, so idk what he did. but i can tell you how to do it on a PC if you have three monitors or tvs connected to your pc, you can go to settings and search for monitors you click the "arrange multiple displays" tab and then if you have monitors plugged in, they should show up in a small window where you can drag them around and change their position and rotation (display mode>landscape/portrait/flipped landscape/flipped portrait) hopefully this makes sense! like i said, i have no clue how he did it yet, if he did it on the TV's settings or if he did it with a computer.
Omg! This is incredibly cool on so many levels. Beautiful job on your office. The tranquility and peace that these spectacular views provide is mind-blowing. I want one! Please continue with this work of art. And, I believe you can display works of art in each frame as well. I'm so dang envious of your skills Drew! You are the master!
Yes, Ive dreamed about doing this for years. I'd like to make a portable window for people who live in the basement, with different scenes, scents, heating and air, just like a real window!
19:10 "I've worked with lots of caulk in my years building stuff but I've never really had a need for black caulk before. But I think its safe to say I'm a big black caulk guy now" :3
This is awesome! I really like the idea of having the feed from the camera that is mounted outside. I think that would give the most authentic feeling of having a real picture window.
this is so cool i randomly found this guy and watched every single one of his videos over the course of a week and was like he is so creative and i subbed and i was recently thinking when is he gonna upload again. Keep up the great work drew i love the builds and the creativity, as well as the simple humor you put into your videos
Okay -- this is the one of the coolest videos I have seen in months. Very well done, sir! If someone has 4 k to play with for their mancave, then your set-up is absolutely the way to go!!
If you want stained wood to look more even and less blotchy, first apply a coat of clear sanding sealer. This will make the wood absorb the stain more evenly, so different grain and knots don't look so dark. Also, it would've cool if you used the same wooden figured moulding as around your other window, to reinforce the "window" idea.
Great work! An alternative cool solution for the TVs would be the Aerial app: it's an open source project made to replicate the Apple TV's "panoramic fly by" screensavers...it comes on both Windows and Mac i believe and has plenty of options to split up and synchronize the same video over the multiple screens connected to the computer. Has loads of videos from all over the world, in 4K too. Of course it wouldn't look like a window anymore but might be cool to change the vibe sometimes.
I'd probably have it viewing webcams from many different cities maybe your own so I felt I was actually seeing the real outside almost like a window. very cool man! nice work too.
It’d be pretty cool to have the displays become a virtual shelf. As a avid collector of figurines, model cars and a bunch of other stuff, it’d be funny to just have a crazy collection in my room but I don’t actually own anything.
I had this idea a few years back when exploring underground shelters. I thought if one had monitors where windows would be and cameras set up with all points covered, one could give the illusion of being above ground. And since you are literally underground/basement you have proven it would work. Very cool!
Yes, I've seen videos on RUclips that showed underground disaster shelters that include "windows" like this. The shelter designer knew that this would be important for keeping the inhabitants sane while they lived underground for an extended period of time.
The use of the three TV screens is genius, wow! Just watching you get alot of useful tips on constructing things, which was the same with your tiny home project. The window install with the absence of the flashing is a good example. Great video!
That's magnificent Drew. I can only imagine how the northern winters are there. I live in Australia at place where winter consists of one colder day a year. Anything under 20degC, or if I have to put on socks, is too cold. Hence, I would definitely need a WINDOW TO ANYWHERE to survive your winters.
You gotta get a 3D video in there.... Maybe a roller-coaster or something. I don't know if the monitors would handle in this format a "proper/no-breaking" 3D experience with glasses, but even if they don't... with lights off and a full wall... you'd get most of the 3D experience even without glasses. I would actually stare into a ride for hours on that wall/screen :)) I also built my office in my basement, I LOVE this idea!!!
I don't know why but I'm loving this. This isn't a new idea, but your implementation was almost flawless. I say almost because what you're missing is just a higher powered pc. Nvidia surround or the AMD equivalent would make life so much easier for you. With three 4k tvs I would say you could definitely use the new RTX 4090 in your life if you can find one. PC gaming on 3 monitors in that orientation used to be more common before ultrawides and 4k monitors came onto the market.
I love how proud of yourself you were at 15:10. I'd be proud too! I never noticed ANY numbers until you pointed the one out at the end, then I thought I'd have to go back and re watch the video to find them all, but I don't have instagram so.... Great video and great idea.
Dude, you beat me to it. I’ve been planning on doing the exact same thing for a year or so. Unfortunately we had a fire at the house and it’s slowed me down enough for you to beat me to it. I’m simply saying against anyone who said you wasted your money or time. Screw them this is awesome!! I’m glad I wasn’t the only with this vision. Only mine was bigger but using your info it will save me a bunch of time streamlining it hopefully. Kudos!! I love it!! Good job!! You got a new lifetime sub.
Any new updates on this awesome project? I am planning on doing a very similar project on a bit larger scale with the 3 tv’s. Need to know how to use the correct processor and other info on how to do the landscaping loops that you mentioned near the end of the video. Would be greatly appreciated any help on this.
This looks awesome! My biggest questions are around the tech/software and the exact step by step 'how to' when it comes to splitting a single video onto the portrait screens which seems to be skimmed over a little in your video. Is there anywhere I can watch a more step-by-step 'how to' of this part?? Thanks in advance 🙏
Just brilliant. And creatively inspiring. Every picture was beautiful. It might be fun to have a scene of moving through space as if from the main deck of the Enterprise or something similar. Again, so well done. Saved to my "home" file for future reference.
If/when you upgrade the computer, remember that you'll want bezel compensation... That let's you remove the sections of video where the wood exists. This would help your 'window' look continuous behind those breaks. Right now, one column of pixels picks up where the last display left off, which kills the illusion. Maybe not so visible on nature content, but you'd notice it with almost any other type of video.
your woodworking is just incredible. Great job. I'm starting my project using a Raspberry Pi 3 attached to each display and reinzor videowall software which treats the 3 displays as one big display and allows you to define gaps between them like a mosaic. Pi are due to be delivered tomorrow!
@@keithephesusgoodman8695 I forget why but I ended up using PiWall. I did get it to work but it was buggy as hell. At the highest resolution it would crash after 1 second. At the next resolution down, after struggling to get all 3 Pis to run the program, the resulting display was like stretching your phone screen to 43 inches. Not impressive unless you are 20 feet away. I ended up returning the TVs. I'm trying again now. The plan is 2 Samsung Frame TVs and a matrox quad2go box. I have searched a lot and found no good solution for large gaps between displays other than an expensive device like the matrox. unfortunately, home video walls never got popular so the only options for the controller are commercial, expensive devices.

I was very much and admiration of your skills and technical abilities as well as your video production right up until the point where you stated that due to the process of this build out you are now a big black caulk guy. The problem I have is I think you misspelled caulk
Recently, I've wanted to build a house, then bury it, creating a tornado-proof "underground" house on grade to avoid moisture problems and then use a giant TV, like yours, mounting one on each of 4 walls (N,S,E,W) with a camera outside pointing directly out, to create a real-time "window" inside. I'm still negotiating for the ranch land (North Texas). That's as far as I've gotten.

2. What did you do to have the video play like that on 3 different tv’s and where did you get the streaming video?
@stevenpermann2242....I have the same questions ‼️ He makes completing these projects easy, but they look like a lot of work. Specially the dog house built I just saw. Truly talented‼️ Love these TV 📺 windows and to watch sporting events, movies, etc‼️
well, im only three minutes in, so idk what he did. but i can tell you how to do it on a PC
if you have three monitors or tvs connected to your pc, you can go to settings and search for monitors
you click the "arrange multiple displays" tab and then if you have monitors plugged in, they should show up in a small window where you can drag them around and change their position and rotation (display mode>landscape/portrait/flipped landscape/flipped portrait)
hopefully this makes sense!
like i said, i have no clue how he did it yet, if he did it on the TV's settings or if he did it with a computer.
I love the idea and the result. I would have looked at removing the gap between the tv's as closely as possible.
I agree. If he ever does get it set up for TV, video games, etc., the current "window frame" gap between screens would be a real turnoff.
This is the first video of yours that I've seen. Well-versed in tech, carpentry and design, you are one all-around super talented individual.
awesome build! a led strip diffuse would help with the led "bright spots" under the frame, gives it a more subtle look.
Yes, Ive dreamed about doing this for years. I'd like to make a portable window for people who live in the basement, with different scenes, scents, heating and air, just like a real window!
Yep...me to! It's good to show his method of achieving this.
19:10 "I've worked with lots of caulk in my years building stuff but I've never really had a need for black caulk before. But I think its safe to say I'm a big black caulk guy now" :3
I blushed 🫢
This is awesome! I really like the idea of having the feed from the camera that is mounted outside. I think that would give the most authentic feeling of having a real picture window.
Casey neistat does this…
That´s amazing, your creativity is awasome
That is one of the most amazing things I’ve EVER seen!!! Thank you for creating and sharing your work of art Drew!!!
Stunning build! I think we'll start to see this basic concept go mainstream in the next 10 years.
this is so cool i randomly found this guy and watched every single one of his videos over the course of a week and was like he is so creative and i subbed and i was recently thinking when is he gonna upload again.
This is amazing. I'd have loved to see your parents reactions to what you did with the room. Solid work all around
Best project I've seen on youtube, how crazy!!
Seriously genius. I'd love to have a window to the world on my office wall like this. Absolutely beautiful.
I wonder what this would look like on smaller wall hook up to computer for the office lol
You have a magic touch! Everything is so perfect!!
That is so bad ass! I can't wait to do something similar for my living room. I really would like to see the Trench Run from Star Wars on mine.
I'd probably have it viewing webcams from many different cities maybe your own so I felt I was actually seeing the real outside almost like a window. very cool man! nice work too.
19:50 What kind of the paint is this? Does the paint create wood texture on it?
It’d be pretty cool to have the displays become a virtual shelf. As a avid collector of figurines, model cars and a bunch of other stuff, it’d be funny to just have a crazy collection in my room but I don’t actually own anything.
I had this idea a few years back when exploring underground shelters. I thought if one had monitors where windows would be and cameras set up with all points covered, one could give the illusion of being above ground. And since you are literally underground/basement you have proven it would work. Very cool!
This idea is 30 years old 🥱 ruclips.net/video/w6uqxay2xts/видео.html
Yes, I've seen videos on RUclips that showed underground disaster shelters that include "windows" like this. The shelter designer knew that this would be important for keeping the inhabitants sane while they lived underground for an extended period of time.
You have made the TV window the best TVs , I've n
ever seen ......
You truly are one heck of a HANDY MAN!!!!
I envy your toy collection. For example, I didn't even know an oscillating multi-tool was a thing, but it looks very useful.
This is a really fun and interesting project! Is there any issues with the recessed TV's overheating?
The use of the three TV screens is genius, wow! Just watching you get alot of useful tips on constructing things, which was the same with your tiny home project. The window install with the absence of the flashing is a good example. Great video!
That's magnificent Drew. I can only imagine how the northern winters are there. I live in Australia at place where winter consists of one colder day a year. Anything under 20degC, or if I have to put on socks, is too cold. Hence, I would definitely need a WINDOW TO ANYWHERE to survive your winters.
The short day light period combined with the cold is what really makes them tough. But I also don’t like extreme heat so can’t win I guess ha
are you dis-ing Canada?
Dingo ate my baby!
@@kevinwelsh7490 Like how the moose kills little boys. I will stick with the dingoes... as they mostly leave us alone. :)
Love your builds drew! Keep it up!
Thank you!
Wow! This "Caulk" lover sure knows how to build cool things. 👍👍
What a transformation, impressive work Drew!
Have you considered adding a face tracking camera to add parallax? I think it could give a really really cool effect :)
props to this man still living with his parents. man wish of this but not many can have that "love" without negative judgement
I would actually stare into a ride for hours on that wall/screen :))
I also built my office in my basement, I LOVE this idea!!!
Ohhh that would be cool! Need to find a budget for a moving chair to simulate a actual ride
Wow, that is actually amazing ! This build gives the room a completely different ambiance. Well done !
Someone walked in the house as he said “I’m a big black caulk guy now” and I immediately felt the need to explain myself.
Kudos on one of the best projects I've ever seen! Absolutely fantastic!
Pure genius!! Amazing build but your attention to details (minus a few..Oops..pull cables before)...is amazing!!!
I love how proud of yourself you were at 15:10. I'd be proud too! I never noticed ANY numbers until you pointed the one out at the end, then I thought I'd have to go back and re watch the video to find them all, but I don't have instagram so.... Great video and great idea.
Thanks crystal. You would have been too late anyways. They were all found within the first couple hours
Following. Same
This looks awesome! My biggest questions are around the tech/software and the exact step by step 'how to' when it comes to splitting a single video onto the portrait screens which seems to be skimmed over a little in your video. Is there anywhere I can watch a more step-by-step 'how to' of this part?? Thanks in advance 🙏
All you need is a PC gaming computer with a decent Graphics card, like an Nvidia or the like….
@@jamesstewart3239 Thanks James. I could purchase this and still not know the 'how to' steps to make it happen though?
@@jamesstewart3239 What decent graphic cards means, as minimum requirements for x3 75" 4k TV LCD´s?
Just brilliant. And creatively inspiring. Every picture was beautiful. It might be fun to have a scene of moving through space as if from the main deck of the Enterprise or something similar. Again, so well done. Saved to my "home" file for future reference.
Thanks for watching!
You come up with some great concepts, keep up the quality content, man!
Thanks TY!
Anyone else suddenly fall in love with this guy! I have never seen anyone this talented! I would love to learn those skills...
AWESOME!!!
your woodworking is just incredible. Great job. I'm starting my project using a Raspberry Pi 3 attached to each display and reinzor videowall software which treats the 3 displays as one big display and allows you to define gaps between them like a mosaic. Pi are due to be delivered tomorrow!
I'm curious, did the Pi 3 with reinzor video wall software work as you had hoped? @kmcg101
What can I say 🤯 amazing. Just keep doing what your doing 😁
It would have been cool to put artificial daylight lights down there, I've always wondered how realistic they would feel in a dark basement
so Rod, go buy some lights and get yourself a basement...
They would be lights. Easy project. Box up some led strips behind a layer or two of diffuser panels, and have at it.
It’s crazy that you built the very idea I’ve been dreaming about for months. I love the idea of being in space or under water. You could do so many themes with this too!
Totally blown away! Amazing, well done!!!
I'm blown away at how my mind just looks at it like a window! Really great job, thanks for sharing.
Fantastic idea and quality. Both for the build and video. Glad I subscribed to your channel!
You work really well with your caulk. 😂 Thank you for acknowledging the joke and not making me wonder if it was intentional or not. Oh, and love the ceiling tiles for a little of that 80's nostalgia?? Lol.
Hi Drew, this used to be my childhood dream idea in the basement and i can't believe you made it come true! I always imagine how this would change the real estate landscapes. Love to talk more in details if we can get this into production all around the world!
I was very much and admiration of your skills and technical abilities as well as your video production right up until the point where you stated that due to the process of this build out you are now a big black caulk guy. The problem I have is I think you misspelled caulk
Haha 😛
Really dig that you don't take the easy way out and replay a process till you have it right. Great trait to have.
That would be awesome! Sounds expensive though 😬

I'm 74, retired, been debt free longer than you've been breathing air and have nothing but time & money!
I love your Chanel. We are a lot alike; I build stuff too.
My "normal" building projects are steam engines and windmills.
I also build solar tracking steam engine generators for free electricity on clear days.
Drew earned yourself a subscriber. This is just great. A project in my bucket list.
Good job!. You could make a prank to some friends. Show them a horror movie (on TV) and in the middle a monster knocking on the fake window with huge sound .... And, of course, a hidden camera to record it all and afterwards show to us ....
Very impressed with what you did on this project. Well done.I was thinking the same thing about streaming video on it going forward. I like the live view camera idea of your backyard.
How much time/days did it take you to finish this? And what about sound system for this setup? If you have some kind of built-in surround system in the walls, it could be a great place to see concerts for examples or even live sporting events. The black caulk joke reference was hilarious. New subscriber.
Hello sir I’m new to your channel. I saw the doggie house video first. I’m blown away by the quality of your content and skills. Subbed for life now lol. Awesome end result here. Also I was absolutely not expecting the black caulk joke. I almost spat out my coffee. Thanks for the hearty chuckles Lmao 😂🤣👌🏻
Снег в зимнем лесу самое атмосферное,крутой vibe.
Молодец, круто сделал! 👍
Awesome work! Did u add any cooling? The air behind the TVs will get hot after a while, no? If price doesn't matter I would have chosen LG OLED Evo TVs. Those are more lightweight (
I want a friend like this so I can learn how to do all of this. Also, really great of your parents to let you do all of this and being supportive
you can do this easily if you have the money to waste on it
Lol women always want friends with benefits that doesn't include dining in the 69
@@subspaceanomaly money doesn't make someone a good carpenter.
@@BloodyKnives66 there's carpentry and carpentry, anyone with those tools can do this easily after watching a RUclips video guide or using their common sense. Designing and making a beautiful complex chair would be less easy.
Wow! Wow! Wow! I am so impressed and in love with the window wall. Amazing!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I will admit this is very cool, but one thing that would complete this is to put LEDs that match with the screen with some coding, that would add lighting to the room and make you feel immersed in the scene. That would be hard to do but I think if you did it, this video would blow up, as well as be even cooler
this video was a masterpiece! Well done sir, you make a DIY project into a story, and a well told story at that
Looks so good! It really changed the room.

Black caulk jokes got a sub from me, great name btw!

If you turn on the Cosmos or some kind of nebula or a Planet behind a dark electronic window, then you can shoot a microblog as if from other planets, or from space, stream its unique experience from the surface of the planet. It's similar to Tony Stark talking to Avengers Endgame in his helmet while texting his wife Potts, in the spaceship, and before being rescued by Captain Marvel. To rent such an office with just a dream and many more interesting things you can think of...
