Not sure you should really judge this show this harshly without watching a single episode. Sure there’s some mess in it but I hope you’re not judging it this way just from what you hear from others. And the cast actually did a great job for the show in my opinion

I think its painfully obvious a few things happened. For one they most likely used an AI to write the story. Edited probably but non the less was written by an AI. Then being contracted to make a 10 episode series went ahead with their story and realised it could be ended in 8 episodes. So they had to make 9-10 fit in some way to the rest of the story. Which is why it feels so weird and not fully connected or tacked on. Kanduu definately fought in ww1. Biggest give away was the trenches and the uniforms. And based on the terrain/sand/egyptian style ruins he found he was more than likely in the middle east. Also the carnival stuff wouldve been still big in this time period. But now the ruins have opened a whole new level of what the hell does this mean. Because someone put that there. Some ancient person or entity created or knew of these monsters that could be unleashed....but backtracking now what the hell was up with the mask and camera...we know they had powers but it never explains what the hell they actually were and are they the "monsters" inscribed into the ruins kanduu found or are they seperate lol maybe im reading the episode wrong but i got a strong implication that what kanduu was trying to do was release all of the goosebumps monsters. And idk what his logic is because it makes zero sense. Hes trying to stop all wars which kill people needlessly by releasing monsters that will.....kill...needlessly....i assume...otherwise whats the point in releasing them if they arent bad. Kanduu is actually stupid.
Kanduu couldn’t have fought in WW1 because he was turned into a dummy in the 1880’s as given by the year time stamp in Episode 10. Judging by the British uniforms seen in that episode, he probably fought in one of the British wars between Burma and Afganistán throughout the mid- late 1800’s

This episode has "Horrorland" in the title. Where was Horrorland??? This series is trash, just as I thought it would be the very moment this series was greenlit. It won't get a 2nd season and if it does it's only out of spite, not because this series is great. I don't think this series would have got much attention if it didn't steal the Goosebumps IP.

After watching this I felt like the writers of this series (same ones from the movies) wanted to combine both movies of course with changes into a 10 episode season. I especially say this because they even said if the show is received well they was gonna make a 3rd movie. Which why would you need to see if a series is good to make a 3rd movie after you already made 2 movies unless the series and the movies are basically slightly connected? Also it would have been better if the Horrors from the Spire Sacrificial Ritual that Kanduu wanted to release ended up being released with a very sad ending but it instead we get another possession 🤦
Wanna know what Goosebumps should’ve had? An animated series aimed towards children, like a Saturday Morning type of thing, its a damn shame that after such success Goosebumps built up in the last decade, THIS is what we’re left with. Me and a good friend who isn’t even into Goosebumps but is into cartoons even agreed that something like Nickelodeon should make a Goosebumps animated cartoon series.
I don’t know about animated, but I’m a firm believer that a Burton-esque stop motion animated feature anthology would’ve been the way to go. I know it would’ve taken ages to craft, but it would’ve been way better than this trash A.I.-written content Disney gave us lol.

I havent watched this video yet. Just finished watching episode 10 and jeez..... What the actual hell happened this episode. I feel like crap just happened to happen. And i actually feel dumber having watched it..... Episode 10 can be summed up in a few words. "What the hell is this"
Just also watched episode 10 and uh, oh boy. 😅 this "twist" ending. It's like having a Horror Land balloon slowly deflate in terms of the hype I got from this finale twist. Episode 8 in comparison, was like a sharp, loud balloon popping as far as how I felt hype wise in terms of that episode's cliff hanger. As a history fan it bugged the heck out of me when they didn't say what war this was supposed to be. But, I guess that's not the focal point of Kondu's back story. As far as the "you're suposed to be dead" dad scene, all i could think of is that scrapped The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ending with Peter in the NYC graveyard, visitng Gwens resting place. When he encounters Ben Parker. I am also very confused as to how Mr.Bratt became possessed again. Was it after the spell that Margo read to bring Isaiah back from death? Was it during the final scene with the former soldier ghost/zombies trying to pull Kandu back to, i assume this universes version of Hell? I dont think its very clear at all to the viewers. If we do get a Season 2, how do you carry on from this? Mr.Bratt and the kids already know how to defeat Kondu, Mr.Bratt already knows how to stop being possesed. Normally the best progression would be for Kondu to join Mr.Bratt and the teens against an even bigger villian. Who or what that would be? I dont even know. Maybe the writters will pull from a GYG book. Rob Letterman seems to be rather fond of those. As a life long Archie fan, and a fan of the Horror spin offs, like Jughead The Hunger. I'm so glad i skipped out on the Riverdale series. 😂

Slappy has multiple backstories, one of them involves an evil sorcerer who created a ventriloquist dummy and used it as a vessel for his soul. Another backstory tells of Maher, a Ventriloquist, who is associated with a magician - even though he doesn't like to be called a magician - known only as Kanduu. Kanduu ends up bringing Maher's dummies to life so that he won't feel so lonely anymore. This show simply took parts of those two backstories and put them together.

Fist of all my favorite episodes of the series were; Go Eat Worms, Night of the Living Dummy Pt 1(it was giving different vibes and at least they understood Slappy a bit), and You Can't Scare Me(They really should have ended the season there and sadly no sight of any mud monsters) The acting was fine, but they do have potential. Lucas was the best character and Justin Long is such a phenomenal actor. The soundtrack was fine. Some of the special effects were good. I liked some of the concepts they were going for, like tying the Goosebumps books to the overall plot. They seem to forget about stuff so fast like the monsters, Harold Biddle, the sacrifice of souls, etc. I like how in the Haunted Mask, Isabella was an internet troll and literal troll but I disliked the design for both versions of the haunted mask. I love the fresh take on the monsters. I don't love this series but I don't hate it, I just am curious to see what they have in store for season 2. Also they should have not added Travis Scott's Goosebumps and I wish they brought back the old theme song(The dog's bark still gives me chills to this day). I love your content keep it up man.

I actually enjoyed the show, I love goosebumps and grew up on it .. the series was a refreshing modern take of goosebumps and me waiting til 12:00am every Thursday night/ Friday night shows how anticipating each episode was for me .. I hope they make a season 2. Remember to not compare the show to anything and just enjoy a suspenseful and enjoyable product .
Another thing i dont like about the series is that it only gives us thebare minimum of goosebumps content, theres no characters named after ones from the books, no easter eggs, no references, nothing

Awful ending, unworthy "twist". They should have let Kanduu go ahead and bring the ghosts and monsters into the world and have the subsequent seasons be episodic and basically visit each ghost and monster in the same fashion as the original Goosebumps. Maybe even loosely connect it to these kids, who now have the spell book and have to banish the ghosts and monsters one by one like in The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo.
Yeah, but look on the bright side; 1. We were so right about season one being awful, they’re starting entirely from scratch for season 2. 2. It took them nearly five months to even mention a season two would be made-how many supposedly “majorly successful” tv shows have you ever heard of it taking this long to announce a sequel? Sounds to me like the ai they were using couldn’t get a sequel season down lol. I’m not going to even hold my breath that this second season even gets made. Kanduu said he knew every spell in that book from memory, he didn't need it. It's also possible Kanduu is still alive but just in the realm of monsters, where he was dragged to. It's ALSO POSSIBLE he managed to split his soul - yes, that can happen in FICTIONAL STORIES involving black magic - which one half possessing Nathan Bratt. You can't say they shouldn't continue with that storyline because it would make no sense for them not to. Why say Mr. Bratt is possessed only for him to magically NOT be possessed anymore with no explanation?!
Episode 10 is based off the book slappy beware something’s was changed but the book did the same thing to slappy. Can’t wait to see it pick up if season 2 comes out because it’s going to be like the movie yet it will be a horror land. If they do things right it will be better then the old series that just did books and not a on going show which was needed.
Overall I think this show was better than the travesty we call "Goosebumps 2015 & 2018". Those movies were so painfully awful. But this show wasnt a whole lot better. Some things I did like. I thought the character of Lucas was pretty decent, and I thought whoever played Harold did well too. Thats basically it. In terms of Slappy, I have to wonder if you have read all of the goosebumps books... Because Slappys origin in this show was almost beat for beat with his origin in the books. (Ik there are 3 different versions but version 1&2 are very similar to each other with 2 just adding a few things). But Slappy was made of coffin wood, which is accurate, he was a dummy with the trapped spirit of an evil sorcerer, which is also correct. If you dont like what R.L Stine did in the books thats fine but you have to give the writers credit for that because at least for Slappy they stuck to the source material. But overall yeah the show was pretty mid, it felt like they were really building up to something crazy in the beginning but then it kept slowing down and slowing down, and it lost me by the end. Slappy basically did nothing, the other horrors also basically did nothing (the haunted mask being the biggest disgrace). Im going to give the show a 5.5/10

Um ... He never lived from Century to Century, what in the hell are you on about?! After he healed himself, the show skipped ahead 2 years, when he met Franz at that Carnival (1880s). It then skipped ahead another 2 years or so, when Franz found out Kanduu was turning people into living puppets and decided to stop him by putting his soul into Slappy, effectively killing Kanduu in the process. That's only 4 years, not Centuries. He wasn't immortal as a human.
I was more of a AYAOTD fan as a kid. Goosebumps was okay to me but I thought it was cheesy back then. That said I actually enjoyed this new take on the stories. I just finished the last episode and I am not sure what the ending means, but overall I enjoyed the entire series. It was cool to watch with the kids. The boy & his clones turning into "goo" made my stomach turn so I am not the biggest fan of those episodes. LOL.
Also for everyone who blames disney they weren't the ones who made it. It's a Sony product that they aired on disney plus and Hulu. I looked it up just to confirm that in case I might have been wrong. Also can we talk about how episode 10 has one of the biggest lie of a title I've ever seen. I read goosebumps almost daily. I certainly don't recall slappy EVER being depicted the way he was in this TERRIBLE show.

I actually enjoyed the show, I love goosebumps and grew up on it .. the series was a refreshing modern take of goosebumps and me waiting til 12:00am every Thursday night/ Friday night shows how anticipating each episode was for me .. I hope they make a season 2. Remember to not compare the show to anything and just enjoy a suspenseful and enjoyable product .
I think it’s unfair to come in and tell people to not compare something to literally what it was supposed to be based on lmao.
Another thing i dont like about the series is that it only gives us thebare minimum of goosebumps content, theres no characters named after ones from the books, no easter eggs, no references, nothing

Awful ending, unworthy "twist". They should have let Kanduu go ahead and bring the ghosts and monsters into the world and have the subsequent seasons be episodic and basically visit each ghost and monster in the same fashion as the original Goosebumps. Maybe even loosely connect it to these kids, who now have the spell book and have to banish the ghosts and monsters one by one like in The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo.

Yeah, but look on the bright side;
1. We were so right about season one being awful, they’re starting entirely from scratch for season 2.
2. It took them nearly five months to even mention a season two would be made-how many supposedly “majorly successful” tv shows have you ever heard of it taking this long to announce a sequel? Sounds to me like the ai they were using couldn’t get a sequel season down lol.
I’m not going to even hold my breath that this second season even gets made. I’ll laugh if they ever release it, because we all know that first season was trash, and this just proves it.

This show feels nothing like Goosebumps other then the name itself and every villain is just a throw away character which is just terrible.

Kanduu said he knew every spell in that book from memory, he didn't need it. It's also possible Kanduu is still alive but just in the realm of monsters, where he was dragged to.
It's ALSO POSSIBLE he managed to split his soul - yes, that can happen in FICTIONAL STORIES involving black magic - which one half possessing Nathan Bratt.
You can't say they shouldn't continue with that storyline because it would make no sense for them not to. Why say Mr. Bratt is possessed only for him to magically NOT be possessed anymore with no explanation?!

Episode 10 is based off the book slappy beware something’s was changed but the book did the same thing to slappy. Can’t wait to see it pick up if season 2 comes out because it’s going to be like the movie yet it will be a horror land. If they do things right it will be better then the old series that just did books and not a on going show which was needed.

Overall I think this show was better than the travesty we call "Goosebumps 2015 & 2018". Those movies were so painfully awful. But this show wasnt a whole lot better. Some things I did like. I thought the character of Lucas was pretty decent, and I thought whoever played Harold did well too. Thats basically it.
In terms of Slappy, I have to wonder if you have read all of the goosebumps books... Because Slappys origin in this show was almost beat for beat with his origin in the books. (Ik there are 3 different versions but version 1&2 are very similar to each other with 2 just adding a few things). But Slappy was made of coffin wood, which is accurate, he was a dummy with the trapped spirit of an evil sorcerer, which is also correct. If you dont like what R.L Stine did in the books thats fine but you have to give the writers credit for that because at least for Slappy they stuck to the source material.
But overall yeah the show was pretty mid, it felt like they were really building up to something crazy in the beginning but then it kept slowing down and slowing down, and it lost me by the end. Slappy basically did nothing, the other horrors also basically did nothing (the haunted mask being the biggest disgrace). Im going to give the show a 5.5/10
I agree that this show has so many plot holes. I dont hate the first 8 episode arc, but what were they doing with this? They got every detail about Slappy and Kanduu from Goosebumps lore wrong...

After he healed himself, the show skipped ahead 2 years, when he met Franz at that Carnival (1880s). It then skipped ahead another 2 years or so, when Franz found out Kanduu was turning people into living puppets and decided to stop him by putting his soul into Slappy, effectively killing Kanduu in the process. That's only 4 years, not Centuries.
He wasn't immortal as a human.

I was more of a AYAOTD fan as a kid. Goosebumps was okay to me but I thought it was cheesy back then. That said I actually enjoyed this new take on the stories. I just finished the last episode and I am not sure what the ending means, but overall I enjoyed the entire series. It was cool to watch with the kids. The boy & his clones turning into "goo" made my stomach turn so I am not the biggest fan of those episodes. LOL.
Yeah for me I might give thia show a chance to see how it goes. Even if I don't like it I'll still have the 2015 movie to enjoy.
Also for everyone who blames disney they weren't the ones who made it. It's a Sony product that they aired on disney plus and Hulu. I looked it up just to confirm that in case I might have been wrong. Also can we talk about how episode 10 has one of the biggest lie of a title I've ever seen.
