    I’ve been quiet about the show but since the heat has died down a bit I feel it’s time to rip into it.
    I’ve been peeved since episode 1, and especially 2. Episode 3, 4, 6 I quite liked. 5 and 7 weren’t good, and episode 8 was decent. And then this episode - I saw the twist with Kandu and Slappy all the way back in episode 6 with the constant Kandu name drops and even Slappy trying to get the magician guy to say the spell by Kandu’s coffin. It was inevitable - and since knowing this episode was NOTLD Part 2, it was going to continue with Slappy’s plan of the past.
    The teen drama stuff is so consistent I just don’t care at this point that it’s there, just fast forward through it. The fact the mom and guidance counselor got engaged is infuriating. Nathan Bratt is officially a ruined character as well. The good actors with good roles are all gone in my opinion. Don’t have much hopes about episode 10 but I at least hope it comes out somewhat good.
    Anyways, I’ll have my thoughts on 3-10 soon enough. Lots to say - but for now, glad it’s almost over lol.

    Honestly, I think it would be better if it was an anthology series because I would love to see books that were not episodes in the original series.

    I agree that the reviews should contain spoilers. Not only can I not imagine anyone that watches a review of episode 9 to not have already seen the episode & if not they probably don't want to watch the episode ;) Plus, don't think that spoiling this show spoils anything Goosebumps related since this show could be of a different franchise and as long as they changed Slappy's name, I wouldn't know the difference thats how little in common the show has with the Goosebumps franchise.
    P.S. Here are a list of Slappy questions I wish someone would answer for me: Slappy can now posses & reanimate dead corpses? How does Slappy know all these spells when Mahar only was taught the spell that brought Mr. Wood to life? It's not like he was taught magic by the masterful sorcerer Kanduu since Slappy wasn't alive when Mahar lived in England. Why did Slappy need to be brought back to life again when the teacher found him in the snow? Why did Slappy's body come apart from falling of the cliff, his body has never come apart (without being sawed apart in Bride) in any of the books. Why couldn't Slappy talk to the teacher when he wasn't alive like episode 6? Why does the teacher read the spell like Slappy wants him to; couldn't he just have demanded that Slappy tell him what the ending of his book should be without following the commands of a dummy that clearly is evil? Why doesn't Slappy want slaves in this series? What is Slappy's goal? Is the dead guy Kanduu & if so what is his body doing in America when he was from England and of all places why is he so close to where Biddle lived? Why does Slappy even know about Kanduu since the 2 have NEVER met?

    Now that I think about it, if Slappy wanted to possess Kandu's body to walk and turn people into non-moving dummies. Why couldn't he just use Mr. Bratt this entire time, after all he was able to make Harold Biddle turn others into dummies. Also what I think what would've made the episode better is if the cop from Episode 8 was there in the Snowy Mountain area (since he works there) found the pieces of Slappy on the ground, he reads the note and Slappy comes to life by reassembling. This time Slappy would be able to walk around, he would turn the cop into a dummy as a way of thanking him and would try to find a way to get back to the town and get revenge on the teens, Mr. Bratt and the teen's parents. Maybe the majority of the episode we would've had Slappy go through different creepy shenanigans with random people here and there as he starts to become more serious but playful at the same time, have him say some ventriloquist jokes and have him doing a creepy laugh (which is one thing I don't hear this version of Slappy doing much). Eventually he would catch an Uber and force the Uber driver to take him to the town, once he arrives that's when he starts beginning his plan. Perhaps he should've used each of the items from the first 5 episodes and use them to be more strong (worms attacking people and going in them, Haunted Mask possessing one person, Slappy using the camera, taking pics and causing people to experience bad luck & The Cuckoo Clock to mess up with time). But yeah, I feel like I did a better job coming up with a plot for this episode then the AI bots.

      @nycot107 8 месяцев назад +1

      Slappy doesn't possess Kanduu, Kanduu possesses Slappy. Slappy is just an ordinary Ventriloquist dummy. When Mr. Bratt said those magic words it caused Kanduu's spirit to transfer back to his human body from the dummy.

    I literally only watched the show for Slappy and now that its like, not slappy, or something, I just dont want to hear anything else about the show.
    I love slappy and each episode that's supposedly about HIM he only gets like, what 5 minutes screentime max? It's really annoying. I was annoyed when he couldn't walk on his own and now I'm just flat out angry about how they wasted, in my opinion, such a good voice actor for Slappy. If he even is Slappy.

    Before I share my thoughts on this video, I would like to thank you for the 4-hour-plus insightful Q&A video. I want to share my thoughts about it but I can't figure out how to word it. In this video I 100% agree with you, this is not Goosebumps. It has no heart and soul, and it feels like it started out as something else. they knew it was crap so they just slapped on the Goosebumps tile. It's hard to talk about how they messed up Slappy and don't even get me started on the haunted mask. The end monster of Go Eat Worms felt like a Goosebumps monster. This season has had very few good things and there but overall it has been a mass of dumpster fire. I'm holding on to very little hope that they will do something wild and blow up everyone's skirt. This needs more Gossebumps and less teen drama crap. It was a nice touch to use Fifi the Vampire Poodle they could have used more of it. Loved the the R L Stine cameo.

I highly doubt that they will make a season two, but if by some chance that they do make a second season, I bet all my money that they’ll never make a season after that because of how crappy the show is

So disappointing, but I did enjoy it was set entirely in the snowy forest and Justin Long did his creepy finger wave when he spotted the cheating mother at the cottage as we first saw in the first Goosebumps preview. So disappointing.. Truly awful "adaptation" if you can call it that...

    This show is definitely a combination of trying to be a cash grab from an IP and trying to "get brownie points", there's no other way around it.
    Gay people existed before shows and modern media started shoving it in our faces. I have a handful of gay friends that are some of the most entertaining and compassionate and reasonable people I've ever met who hang with my straight friends, they dont make their sexuality their personality and are just self accepting and accepting of what my strsight friends are like, and we all have a good time, and do you know what these friends DON'T do that some written gay characters in media for the sake of them being in media for representation have been doing recently that i swear to god is being treated as a trend and not as true acceptance in yourself????? They don't do the "Wah wah you should accept gay people or you're a homophobe!" Or "Wah wah, feel bad for me and you should accept queerness or you're a bad person!"
    First of all, thats toxic behavior. Second of all, the problem is a character being represented as gay in media is apparently the equivalent of a character being a Mary Sue or some big hero, and that's it. Thats apparently what makes them so great and thats their only personality trait. And apparently if you DON'T like this character, its because you're a homophobe. No, its because that character being gay is their only personality.
    Your sexuality first of all, is only something you like to do in the bedroom and just romance with whatever sex you prefer. It's not something you should be given a medal for.(Actual thing one of my gay friends said.) Your sexuality doesn't determine your self worth.
    So, not only do I not like this new "Goosebumps" show because the monsters are being ruined and the tone is off and inconsistent with what "Goosebumps" was, but the gay kid in the show is also being treated as a plot armor character who gets a medal for being gay. Similar to how the one girl in the episode you mentioned is getting a medal for doing something stupid and dangerous just because she's labeling herself as "being an independent woman".

    I like this show KIND OF. It just gets on my nerves that they ruined night of the living dummy, they are basically saying that slappy is just a person. They are using relationships and topics that are relevant to teenagers to draw them in when their target audience should be kids and adults because they are the main people reading their books, adults meaning collectors and just fans of goosebumps in general

    I am Slappy's Evil Twin is the book that gave us Slappy's backstory (& Mr. Wood's). Slappy Beware just retold the same prologue minus Snappy who is confirmed to not exist outside of Slappy World. Also, you are wrong about Slappy Beware being a Slappy World book. It's a stand alone 1 issue series commending the 30th anniversary so the entire book is canon where Slappy World is canon but with non-canon inclusions from the mind of Slappy.

    • @madmathematician4458
      @madmathematician4458 8 месяцев назад

      @@MRWood-T2235 Nice to see you again. You sure you want to go another round arguing with me cause you lost last time claiming that Mr. Wood looks identical to Slappy in Night of the Living Dummy and then claiming the 2 prologues from Slappy’s Evil Twin and Slappy Beware were different stories. If you lose this argument are you just gonna delete your comments like you did our last conversation?
      So to address what you said. I am Slappy’s Evil Twin is a Slappy World book, Slappy Beware is not a Slappy World book even though almost every Goosebumps channel claims it is, including Michael Goosebunpsfan claiming it’s book #18 which it’s not because there is not a single mention of Slappy World anywhere in or on the book. I still consider Slappy World canon, it’s just loose canon with the stories sticking with the source material but Slappy adding things to the story that never happened (such as Snappy). The prologue ps Slappy Beware confirms there is no Snappy which is why we never hear from Snappy again.
      There are crazy ridiculous powers of Slappy in Slappy World books and that’s to be expected since he’s obviously wants to boost his scare factor. However, there are no new powers in Slappy Beware. Slappy has always been able to animate other dummies by putting a part of his soul in them as seen in Night of the Living Dummy 3. However that doesn’t mean Slappy has the power to bring things to life. Making something alive in the Goosebumps franchise is giving something a soul, a soul that can live forever and inhabit other bodies if the right conditions are met (magic words & a body made by their creator, Mahar). The only toy characters with souls that are alive in Goosebunps are Slappy, Mr. Wood, Dennis & Mary Ellen since they all have come to life when the magic words have been spoken. My theory is that Dennis & Mary Ellen where both made by Mahar and I even included Dennis in my book (if you read it since I posted 4 chapters in our last conversation). But just like how the dummies from Night of the Living Dummy 3 go back to being lifeless once Slappy has been defeated, so to will the Mr. Wood toys go back to being lifeless since none of them poses a soul.
      See, no canon issues with Slappy Beware! RL Stine isn’t slipping up yet!

    If it’s that bad, maybe it’s time to quit. When I usually watch a tv show, I try to give it at least till episode three or four. But then there are some shows that are so bad, that it’s time to stop after about episode four or sometimes five. But that’s just my opinion. You know Goosebumps was originally aimed at a kid audience age ranging from seven to thirteen and the crew who worked on the original show seemed to understand and respect that while the people who work on passionless shows like these, sadly don’t have a clue. Maybe they didn’t want to have to work with a bunch of kids around ten -cause kids that age can easily be annoying-, but it’s originally aimed aged audience is what made that show work.
