- The Bond watch, the watch from Goldeneye 007, The Omega Seamaster 300m Professional. That’s what we’re looking at today. The question is, how the Omega Seamaster 300m Professional Dive Watch compare to the films and of course to Goldeneye 64.
*Minor Correction:
The bracelet is brushed stainless steel, not titanium. The Planet Ocean is offered in Titanium.
Goldeneye is the reason I bought a seamaster with my first paycheck at the age of 16.
How much did you paid it
@@Zenith6000 I bought mine in November of 2000, got a 2541.80 at the PX for $1199.95. The newer Coaxials came out a couple of years later. The 2541.80 has shot up to $2500-3000 now.
@@desertsoldier41 Spot on. I recall mine being very similarly priced at purchase in 2001.
it got me into watches as a kid too.
Best watch ever I have one and it’s great
fun fact the devs were given seamasters after the game was finished
Haha. Yeah that would have been great though!
GoldenGuns im serious though, Doak still has his
@@crashoveride879 Do you have something your referencing, like an interview or an article? Or, are you joking and I'm not getting that...
Wow! I thought you were just being funny. Totally didn’t know that! Thank you for sharing that crazy fact! I hope Doak see’s this video.
@@crashoveride879 You sold yours??? 😲 Or you are not part of dev team, like me ?
I love these videos and this channel. After two years, I had only subscribed out of solidarity and a distant hope that someday I'd see more. This didn't disappoint though, and it wasn't even gun-related! Keep up the fantastic videos, I hope this means you're back!
Yes. I’m back! I promise it won’t be another two years this time. My personal life has just been very busy and this channel has to take a hiatus. Thanks for your patience!
Ummm.. at 3:11 no Dalton DID NOT miss the mark! He’s the most Fleming Bond of all the big screen portrayals!
If people actually read the novels, Dalton instantly becomes their favorite. It’s science.
@@ArcLight726
THANK YOU! He’s not my personal favorite, that’s Connery because of nostalgia, but yeah Dalton is the Fleming BOND!
Let's not forget to mention. The only reason why Dalton didn't do a third film was because his contract expired. Due to something completely unrelated to him, a legal battle between the long time Bond film producer Albert R. Broccoli and the studio MGM/UA. Hell, even after that debacle ended they still wanted him to do 3 or 4 more films. However, Timothy Dalton declined the offer and step away from the role for good. I don't understand why so many people undervalue Timothy Dalton's time as James Bond.
When he said that, I was like "Uh... WHAT!?!?" Dalton is extremely underrated in the role and he brought new life to the character and the films with his more mature take on Bond after Roger Moore's films were so campy which got old really fast
Looking forward to adding one to my collection. I've always wanted an Omega and what a perfect way to celebrate my childhood. Thanks for the video!
You can actually get the Goldeneye Bond watch face on your smart watch. The armour and health displays the battery too!
I'll be sneaking my apple watch on school like James bond
We all know the 1 dislike was from Rolex!
Best comment in the whole thread.
Great video. While I do own a genuine Omega Seamaster Black dial I had also bought a replica Omega Blue dial. Plan is to put a smaller ( ladies ) quartz movement into it, take out the hour markers and replace them with led lights that can be turned on when you turn the bezel. Also want to do something with the helium Valve but not sure what yet. Thought it would be a fun project after I saw a watch from MTM special OPS.
Whow, Bond had the first Smart watch. That James, always ahead of the curb!!
Holy shit you're back!
Great video btw.
Thanks! No more two year breaks lol.
@@goldenguns2659 So when are you going to review the T-55 tank?
I assume you're sending me one for review, right? Do I need to sign for it, or will the postman leave it by the door?
Tim Dalton is underrated.
Best watch review on RUclips
Another Seamaster-Esq watch to look out for is the Casio MTP-VD01, its actually fooled a couple of people into thinking that its an actual Omega every time i've worn it
This watch video is very much underrated!
I own and love this watch and have fond memoroes of the game. Goldeneye is the nest Bond movie IMO but you coupdnt be more wrong about Timothy Dalton - his version of Bond is the most accurate and he is arguably the best most authentic Bond ever.
Damn! I was hoping it'll have the magnet and laser!
I have the Invicta and always wish I had the omega. I turned it down, now regret it.
Nothing to regret though really Invicta is a dynamite watch and Omega is too and who says you won't come to own both in time?
Invicta’s a great watch. My bronze dialed Pro-Diver looks exactly like the one in “No Time to Die”
I love these vids. Goldeneye, its guns, and the wrist watch just ticks the boxes with my interests. Buying this watch today it seems to come with Omega's automatic 8800 caliber, but I remember the era and quartz was cooler at that time. Interesting to hear your views on the skeletonised hands.
The one in the movie was actually an Omega Seamaster 300 Quartz as the Automatic didn't come out until the following year, it was then worn in The World Os Not Enough and Die Another Day.
I like the video, not sure what you mean by calling Seiko an upstart
Not a dig at Seiko. I have a lot of respect for them. Just pointing out that from the perspective of Rolex and Omega, Seiko was the young upstart reinventing the watch industry.
@@goldenguns2659 Seiko was making incredible mechanical movements well before the quartz crisis. They even were the first manufacturer to sell an automatic chronograph (there's some controversy and backstory here) and were doing things in automatic chrono movements in the late 60s that Rolex didn't do in-house until the late 90's. Seiko was also founded before Rolex. Omega was using modified ETA automatic movements in these Seamasters until just a couple years ago. Same with Tudor in many models. Seiko has been all in-house for so long I can't even figure it out. Lot's of misconceptions out there about Seiko based on nothing other than marketing by Swiss watch manufacturers. My Seikos run forever, accurately, are beaten like hell and never need a service. I cannot say the same about my Seamaster, though I adore it. I have a 5 year old Oris which I have babied that needs a service. I prefer Swiss personally for irrational reasons, but I still love a Seiko and see them as just as good or better than most of the big Swiss brands. And they can achieve this at a tiny fraction of the cost
Titanium bracelet ???! Who told you that...? It’s stainless steel!
Well, I knew I’d make a mistake somewhere here. I stand corrected sir.
always loved the games music as well
Woah you have the arnie seiko in there at 2:47 ,that watch is from predator and commando not james bond. Also the rolex connery first worse was on something called a nato strap which is basically nylon and not leather.
Good points. I knew it was a NATO strap. I must have misspoken.
Wrong
Roger Moore wore the Arnie in the "View To A Kill" for some scenes
Fantastic informative video about the Bond Seamaster watch!
Thank you! Walther PPK video in the works.
I have the automatic one arriving today 😁
I think the one from goldeneye is better
The Rolex from Dr. No is NOT on a leather strap. It's a NATO-strap
I enjoyed this video even more than the gun ones surprisingly
Excellent video, very well executed!
Thank you my friend! Did you see the longer video I just did about Goldeneye and the other James Bond games?
Dalton was 20 yrs ahead of his time, and unfortunately we got Craig in the same style … Also, titanium bracelet, lmao, this guy is uninformed!
6:24 Bracelet on the 2541.80 isn't titanium 🤦♂️
And the strap on the Dr. No Submariner isn't leather either. But also, shut up
@@thecianinator What's your problem? Which part did I even mention anything about a Submariner?
Excuse me while I block you. I don't have time to entertain you. Don't bother to reply because obviously I've blocked you by the time you read this and won't be notified of any of your response. 👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼
Sure does bring back memories.. I should dust off the old n64 soon
Great video, and very well researched. While I'll never own a real James Bond watch, I do have a decent novelty one and an actual N64 promotional watch. Plus, it's nice to see how much armour I have on throughout the day.
Well played my friend. Please excuse any shade I may have cast on your watch. Wear it in good health, or at least with full body armor.
Also, cool about the N64 promo watch. Is it a Goldeneye promo watch specifically or am N64 one?
@@goldenguns2659 No worries. Trust me, I've seen some of the custom made GE themed watches for sale out there, and I know how bad they can be.
The promo watch is a proper GoldenEye 007 N64 one. I ended up getting it cheaper on eBay, because a part of the face is missing (think the numbers round the edge). It still looks perfectly fine to me, though. Plus, for paying probably a tenth of what they would usually go for, who cares! Hehe.
I can't help you with the laser part.
I’m thinking you have to pay extra for the laser.
I can fit a 200mw diode in the helium escape valve. Won't cut steel...but it will pop balloons.
Timothy Dalton missed the mark!? What?
Exactly, Dalton was actually a fan of Fleming’s novels so he was able to portray Bond the most accurately
He wasn’t my taste but I agree he did an incredible job portraying the character in a different style than anyone else had.
Dalton was the most true to the character and probably the best most skilked actor to play 007.
@@goldenguns2659 Dalton was a great Bond and led the way to Brosnan
I agree license to kill is still to me the best film of the franchise
Omega does make titanium Seamaster but the 2541.80 goldeneye model is 316L stainless steel
I have the Omega Seamaster 300M watch face installed on my Galaxy Watch 4 Classic with a steel bracelet, and I am getting a Ringke Bezel kit to make it look more like a dive watch. Until I can save up enough money to get the real deal
Love that watch. I considered buying it, but I do not think I will be able to get a good fit; there's no micro adjusts.
Now there's people scalping them in awful conditions for ridiculous prices "3000$" and up, wich i think it's absolutely insane.
First actual watch @1:26 comment. "Sean Connery sports a watch with a leather strap!" The strap is a NATA made of nylon a favourite of the British special forces due to it's durability" come on man that's clearly not leather!
I use the pause screen watch face on my Samsung galaxy.
What’s the diameter of the watch again?
I believe it’s 41mm
Went diving in Thailand to 20M. Visible illumination dials
Missed the mark!!! Dalton was the truest to flemming bond.
Dalton missed the mark? The dude's considered the best bond by lot of people.
I use the Casio Mdv106-1a
They're so expensive though.
They’re a handmade swiss watch. You get what you pay for!
What's with the. Echo?
What echo?
GoldenGuns Sounds like your in another room
I didn’t hear that. Strange.
I’m really enjoying this channel and your content! New sub earned from me!
And I highly recommend checking out the Orient Ray 2. It’s a beautiful blue dial diving watch that can be had for less than $150. Has a very James Bond look!
Wearing mine as I watch this. 02/08/21Bracelet is not Titanium it is steel.
Cool
Should be a garrote in the watch too.
Also that's a stainless bracelet
great watch. too bad the new models of seamaster have that comical font on their bezels
Yeah I agree completely. I don’t at all get the new design choices. And also, where’s the wave dial? That’s my favorite part!
Oh if you hadn’t noticed I’m a Rolex man and owner.
Make more!
I will. It takes me some time but hang in there and there will be more.
Ummm you do know the Rolex submariner was and is an automatic watch.
Live and Let Die came out in 1973, not 1974
Always there with the corrections. Good thing you caught that critical error. Also, the bracelet isn’t titanium. I don’t know what I was thinking that day.
It's hillarious how even nerdy Bond fans MISS the fact that their hero (Brosnan or Craig) would nevr be caught dead "in the films" wering a "theme watch" (with Bond markings of any kind e.g. "007" on the back o f the case of hte No time To Die watch...or more laughable the cheesy mechanical animation on the "Brosnan watch" :) OR the odd fuax pas in the BOnd films where they have Bond wearing a SPortS watch (diving during FORMAL occasions and not soemthing like a Cartier Tank a "Dressy watch"....
Companiees and certain reviewer s are tying to sell us on the idea that "...we CAN wear a DIVE watch" at a formal dinner. NO we SHOULD NOt. Be like wearing an ADDIDAS skin tight exercise pants to a wedding...heh...or running shoes...the things professionals manage to miss...UNREAL..
Nitce how Rolex and Beitling, Hamilton ...left their Bond watcehs "unmarked"??
Isn't it steel? 🤔
In the next movie Bond will wear an apple watch. Just wait for it
lol. Considering he almost became a she, I wouldn’t be surprised. Actually, I did go from wearing an Apple Watch to the Seamaster. I made my own custom watch face for it that looks like the Goldeneye pause screen, because... I have a problem.
@@goldenguns2659 I own an omega seamster 300m as well! Can you do a video of your custom one?
You mean the Apple Watch wallpaper?
@@goldenguns2659 oh, haha I thought you changed an actual watches dial xD
lol no, I think if I “customized” an actual Omega Seamaster you could rightfully have me locked up.
James Bond’s real watch is a Rolex.. I love omega tho
Quartz? ugh I'll just get a Rolex
Nato strap on the Rolex
Ah but yours it’s quartz .... no good sell that guy get the automatic
Quartz is no longer made. So it is become collectable.
Besides the exact goldeneye was ... the quartz...
@@ph69jbl I bought mine because it was the original Brosnan Bond watch.
Shut up, you bell end.
Upstart company Seiko? Do your homework. Seiko has been around longer than Rolex
Yeah, I made a few mistakes in this video. I was excited about it and probably could have taken some more time to get things in order.
They couldve made millions had they just build a watch to look exactly the same as in the video game I hope in the future they make a digital one that shows analog but once you press the buttons it would show everything that looks exactly like what we see in the game!!!!! 😡 🤬
I'd much rather get the Chinese knock off that looks exactly like the Goldeneye 64 watch. Much better time piece than an overblown diver's watch!
no.
Try again kid
You're obviously not a watch guy lol
