    Can we all appreciate the fact that he learned this only a few months after learning Brahms' ENTIRE first sonata? The amount of effort and brainpower it takes to polish music of this caliber in such a short time period is astounding!

      Don't forget he also performed a bunch of Godowsky during that time

      I remember hearing Josh Wright say when he was in his prime music school days he learned Rach 2 or 3 in three weeks, like wtf LOL. I could only imagine, this is crazy work.

    Excited! Your Brahms sonata 1is my favorite. I really like the No.3 more and was thinking about trying it. Saw you rated it to 8 first but now switched to 8+. Maybe I should think twice since most of the pieces that I've performed were 6++ and 7.

      Maybe you can try the first movement if you have good octaves and jumps, that's the only really difficult technique in the 1st. The last movement has all sorts of prickly passages.

    • @avantpianist6636
      @avantpianist6636 Год назад +2

      Correct. The last movement has passages that are technically difficult. It’s also very hard to bring out the orchestral aspect of the piece.

    5:45 this anticipates the 2nd section of the slow movement
    Also, Schumann-like syncopations

    Is it weird that prefer this to the Chopin sonata 3 1st mvmt? (which is a masterpiece don't get me wrong)

    Интересно, какой максимальный интервал вы можете взять?

    Hey, I love your videos and was inspired to start my own channel where I upload 1-2 minute music clips from pieces I like with some brief explanation, but I have a few quick questions: Where do you find recordings that you are sure are in the public domain? How do you cleanly upload sheet music? Is this idea something that has already been done excessively?
    Great recording, of course!

      Almost all of my recordings get flagged by the copyright system because rarely are recordings in the public domain. I'm not making a single cent off of my youtube channel
