This video is well over a year old and these particular weapons were the best at the time. 2. Yes, I know "traditional" and "real" dueling is usually melee only. The opponent featured in this video came to me personally and asked to duel for plat and I asked him beforehand were there any rules he would like to set before I invited him to the dojo, he said no, and to me that means no holds barred. I assumed he was going to use weapons and/or powers, so I just pulled out my nova for giggles. Anyways, this video was all in good fun, and I don't expect anyone to take this video seriously because this is not at all how I duel and besides when you have plat on the line, (100+) why play fair anyway? :D

I recently made that mistake of dueling for plat, should've known better. Saw a guy post it in the trade chat, duel with melee only and no abilities. I felt cheated because the guy never touched to ground he was jumping so much and never needed to get near me to one shot me. I honored the agreement though to be a good player and gave him the plat... only to be taunted afterwards. He is now on my ignore list. Never doing that again.
had a duel against one of my clans high lvl players ....she was using the same set as u and i was new i just got ash prime "pre rework" after trading and maxed him ....i fought her she said best of 5 ....no abilities no guns ...only melee....first round for me and then she used guns and tye same skills as u but it didn't slow me that much ....2nd round i didn't use skills but she got me with a shutgun ☺....third round i used the teleport and 1 shot her with the dragon nikana.....4th round i used invisibilty and teleportation and get her she then quit and 3 or 4 days later i was kicked out of the clan 😊
The duels we do in my clan are done with no mods, start gear only, and Rhino can't use Iron Skin while Valk can't use Hysteria, I made that rule from the get go and I main rhino, Loki and Ash are also not allowed to cloak anymore, things are actually well balanced, we need actual skill to win, not just good abilities.

Kray Gray well let's keep in mind once they decided upon melee only nova never used moc prime until the rhino used iron skin. He simply saw his opponent used an ability so decided he could too. He was perfectly willing to duel melee only no abilities
I have to argue that only because my nova's power strength is currently at 200% and the enemies move much slower than they were at 145%. Actually helped me quite alot in the Pacifism Defect. Now given my Spread is a wee bit slower but my duration is at 245 (Or in that area, I don't have the numbers in front of me #XboxLIfe) But a buddy of mine had actually done a small test to see whose Nova would be better for interceptions. His power strength (Even to this day) is confirmed at 145% while my strength is still at 200% Comparing the two. My MP drastically slowed them down to a practical crawl where as his brought them to a steady stroll
Yeah I remember being the leader of a clan with a few hundred people a few years back. I had a tigris before it was primed with 150,000 slash damage per round. So it was more like 300 as I fired the 2 rounds at the same time. Even frames with partial immunity to slash were on hit every time. Even a health build for a valkyr or rhino. I remember doing this to new players of the game who had a sword at like 10 thousand electricity who just spam melee you and I blast them in the face before the even try. It's also a useful weapon to help your friends new to the game against bosses they are stuck on. And when the void used to have keys and I used to speed run them through very high tier towers so they get a good early start
i actually like heavy blade duels. Because it all goes uphill from there. Get it? because neither one wants to get cheesed by tempo so they go into the air? AIR HEAVY BLADES
on the other hand, i use a 7 formad ignis with all the 4 90% elemental damage mods (including p cryo rounds), and a vile accel for the extra punch... no1 has yet to defeat me

I kinda wish DE added custom matches that would add restrictions. Like no abilities, no sentinel, no of x weapon type (maybe even disallow specific weapons), disable mods etc.
honestly, this wouldnt be bad if the game was not so pve focused, which leads to MANY broken builds and things that are just down right powerful, such as the Slowva build, which is a garuenteed death sentence in pvp. and hten there is something like explosion radius, which although bad against you in a pve standpoint, will bassicly prevent all need to aim in a pvp one.so long as you know your distance/limit of course. the game is still good. but when it comes to pvp, the gear is what determines the winner. not the skill.

if you want a real duel without restricting to melee only (wich is so boring), the best thing to do is a 3 ban option, i always do that with my clan mates, 3 bans (you can ban whatever you want weapon, warframe, companion), and before that both duelist acord on basic terms like pets or not, mods or not, etc.
Best way to counter Slow is AOE and invincibility frames. (Using Frame genders for pronouns) I think that in the melee match, Rhino should have sat in the air to avoid a knockdown, then Rhino Charged Nova when she tried to jump up and hit him. Using the time bought by that knockdown, he could then land and launch a Rhino Stomp to deal large damage and almost completely immobilize Nova allowing a finishing followup (assuming the stomp doesn't do the job). Of course, there's also the option of casting Rhino Stomp timed so that the blast is immediately following match start, trapping Nova and allowing him to waltz over and execute her. As for the shotgun instagib, cast Iron Skin as the match is starting so that its damage-absorbing starting phase blocks the initial shotgun blast and contributes the health required to tank the followup. Use that time to not leisurely but definitely calmly line up and fire your own instagib. If Augments are brought into it, Rhino could cleanly counter the melee attack using Iron Shrapnel (AOE burst using Iron Skin's health for damage, no cast time), which Nova could counter by bombarding him from a range with Null star, which makes the active fighting last long enough for both sides to have more options. As for the shotgun instagib, Nova could counter Rhino's counter using Antimatter Absorb, which would buy Rhino time to launch Rhino Charge to counter that, and probably a few more stages I'm just not thinking of. Point is, if you know both frames well enough, you can use (more) legit tactics to overthrow the cheesiest cheese.
ok, for example that slow nova only used mo prime. how would you feel if you were in a duel slow af while getting shot at. i know i would hate it. and to be honest i duel a lot and you learn that ABILITIES GUNS and COMPANIONS are cheap to use in a duel.
The Nova can't really brag, considering the massive nerf he gave to the other guy with Molecular Prime. Also those of you arguing that the Rhino used Iron Skin, it's very easy to peel off with a gun, and seeing as the Rhino was constantly ground slamming during the melee only round, Nova could've dodged the ground slam, and taken advantage of the recovery from the slam. Usually in Warframe if it isn't 2 good Mastery Rank 12+ players going at it, it'll be an ugly and one sided fight. On another note it sucks MAJOR ass that one of the most recent updates made it so that no one can see 2 players fight anymore. They get screen loaded to another version of the dueling room that's been cut off from the dojo. And the whole things just a fucking hassle to do now, since it doesn't always work and there are those fucking load screens to wait for. Hopefully they change it back.
still rhino used iron skin wich is an ability that make him take more hits, if you go like it can just be peel by weapon, well you can say while nova is casting moprime you have time to one shot her as she is paper
They should add some sort of betting were in you put something on the table and the other puts something on the table too, whoever wins gets it, disconnecting or quitting would be an automatic lose, you lose what you bet and no way of getting it back but by betting again.
the clan I'm in we usually go only melee and no abilities to make things a little even, with to two parties involve having to agree if they want to duel with abilities and guns included
Gave up on dueling (even for fun) after just a few days. People start putting in rules until it's just a slap-fight between 2 of the same frame (some might even try "no mods"). Had a Frost complain about fighting a Trinity. He loved to 1-shot people with Avanlanche, then pulled a "no abilities" after Link killed him.
Considering most weapons can do over 2000 damage per sec/shot with few mods, and most warframes have less than 2000 health/shields combined with rarely over 300 armor.....
I've played bits of this game & still move like a drunk ninja I've dueled once played I think 10 rounds (not sure wasn't keeping count to busy trying not to get pwned in 0.5 seconds after start of round) the person I dueled was nice , she was trying to help me get better, but at the same time thought kicking my ass was hilarious
moral of the story don't duel for plat unless you know the person or you've been clan friends for a while because they are likely to get salty when they loose and rage quit.
I had a duel like this today. To be fair it was like a fight club and none of us knew about the "melee for honor" rule so we were free to abuse any abilities in our arsenal. One player keeps using wukong. His undying passive is pretty op in duels, also he heals himself by using 2, absorbs damage using 3. This guy refuses to use any other frames. Honestly at that point we just treat him like a dark souls boss. While kinda annoying, he's a friendly dude. One other player also main a wukong decided to use excal umbra and abuses his 4 and 2 and got some kills. I too, used a wukong with a fucking proboscis cernos so I was feeling a bit unfair. Later I switched to a zephyr and abused her 4 so my opponent can't move. Only one player were honorable enough to use his parascesis. But then again, I don't know why but he keeps talking to himself of how awesome his harrow and parascesis is. Like, any normal conversation we have would just end up going back to him explaining about the parascesis. I might as well ask "What do you have for breakfast dude?" And he probably would answer "Oh I made a fucking parascesis today and it needed 1000 ducats lol" it was weird Anyway. Fun night. There wasn't even platinum on wager or anything. Just some dude killing each other and having fun lol. I wish DE would hold some kind of pvp event.
To be honest, the only way too duel is a good old stand off. Just 2 people with both a one shot kill weapon. Whoever pulls the trigger first wins! Person with the fastest reflex ( or connection) wins :).
I fought for platinum once. It was againest a new character who bought 200 plat and said he would bet me it. I knew him in real life and thought it would be fun. He was rank 3 and thought he was very strong (with beginning weapons and had mag). I wanted the plat so I used galatine prime, it was over in 2 seconds got the platinum and he stopped playing warframe. All in all a good day

Zonkory been playing longer than you have. Maybe if you read the entirety of what I wrote you'd understand. Jumping around is fine on PC, on controllers it's a whole different story.

Kray Gray well let's keep in mind once they decided upon melee only nova never used moc prime until the rhino used iron skin. He simply saw his opponent used an ability so decided he could too. He was perfectly willing to duel melee only no abilities
I have to argue that only because my nova's power strength is currently at 200% and the enemies move much slower than they were at 145%. Actually helped me quite alot in the Pacifism Defect.
Now given my Spread is a wee bit slower but my duration is at 245 (Or in that area, I don't have the numbers in front of me #XboxLIfe) But a buddy of mine had actually done a small test to see whose Nova would be better for interceptions. His power strength (Even to this day) is confirmed at 145% while my strength is still at 200%
Comparing the two. My MP drastically slowed them down to a practical crawl where as his brought them to a steady stroll
they were slamming as well like little bitches its melee not pound the floor to get a finisher also channeling is bitchy

Yeah I remember being the leader of a clan with a few hundred people a few years back. I had a tigris before it was primed with 150,000 slash damage per round. So it was more like 300 as I fired the 2 rounds at the same time. Even frames with partial immunity to slash were on hit every time. Even a health build for a valkyr or rhino. I remember doing this to new players of the game who had a sword at like 10 thousand electricity who just spam melee you and I blast them in the face before the even try. It's also a useful weapon to help your friends new to the game against bosses they are stuck on. And when the void used to have keys and I used to speed run them through very high tier towers so they get a good early start
As soon as I saw "cmon bruh" I lost all respect for the Nova. (The little I had anyways, lol)

my Akstiletto Primes can one shot a Rhino Prime too :) that's only ONE bullet. Not multiple spread shards. ONE BULLET
on the other hand, i use a 7 formad ignis with all the 4 90% elemental damage mods (including p cryo rounds), and a vile accel for the extra punch... no1 has yet to defeat me

honestly, this wouldnt be bad if the game was not so pve focused, which leads to MANY broken builds and things that are just down right powerful, such as the Slowva build, which is a garuenteed death sentence in pvp.
and hten there is something like explosion radius, which although bad against you in a pve standpoint, will bassicly prevent all need to aim in a pvp one.so long as you know your distance/limit of course.
the game is still good. but when it comes to pvp, the gear is what determines the winner. not the skill.
Elder Rusty Daikyu is so broken in Conclave. I totally agree that it's more of the gear than the player when it comes to any PvP related thing in Warframe.

if you want a real duel without restricting to melee only (wich is so boring), the best thing to do is a 3 ban option, i always do that with my clan mates, 3 bans (you can ban whatever you want weapon, warframe, companion), and before that both duelist acord on basic terms like pets or not, mods or not, etc.

in a melee only if someone pulled out their powers mid duel, while I'm using my immortal Valkyrie build it's all over
Best way to counter Slow is AOE and invincibility frames. (Using Frame genders for pronouns) I think that in the melee match, Rhino should have sat in the air to avoid a knockdown, then Rhino Charged Nova when she tried to jump up and hit him. Using the time bought by that knockdown, he could then land and launch a Rhino Stomp to deal large damage and almost completely immobilize Nova allowing a finishing followup (assuming the stomp doesn't do the job). Of course, there's also the option of casting Rhino Stomp timed so that the blast is immediately following match start, trapping Nova and allowing him to waltz over and execute her.
As for the shotgun instagib, cast Iron Skin as the match is starting so that its damage-absorbing starting phase blocks the initial shotgun blast and contributes the health required to tank the followup. Use that time to not leisurely but definitely calmly line up and fire your own instagib.
If Augments are brought into it, Rhino could cleanly counter the melee attack using Iron Shrapnel (AOE burst using Iron Skin's health for damage, no cast time), which Nova could counter by bombarding him from a range with Null star, which makes the active fighting last long enough for both sides to have more options. As for the shotgun instagib, Nova could counter Rhino's counter using Antimatter Absorb, which would buy Rhino time to launch Rhino Charge to counter that, and probably a few more stages I'm just not thinking of.
Point is, if you know both frames well enough, you can use (more) legit tactics to overthrow the cheesiest cheese.

ok, for example that slow nova only used mo prime. how would you feel if you were in a duel slow af while getting shot at. i know i would hate it. and to be honest i duel a lot and you learn that ABILITIES GUNS and COMPANIONS are cheap to use in a duel.

The Nova can't really brag, considering the massive nerf he gave to the other guy with Molecular Prime. Also those of you arguing that the Rhino used Iron Skin, it's very easy to peel off with a gun, and seeing as the Rhino was constantly ground slamming during the melee only round, Nova could've dodged the ground slam, and taken advantage of the recovery from the slam. Usually in Warframe if it isn't 2 good Mastery Rank 12+ players going at it, it'll be an ugly and one sided fight. On another note it sucks MAJOR ass that one of the most recent updates made it so that no one can see 2 players fight anymore. They get screen loaded to another version of the dueling room that's been cut off from the dojo. And the whole things just a fucking hassle to do now, since it doesn't always work and there are those fucking load screens to wait for. Hopefully they change it back.
still rhino used iron skin wich is an ability that make him take more hits, if you go like it can just be peel by weapon, well you can say while nova is casting moprime you have time to one shot her as she is paper

They should add some sort of betting were in you put something on the table and the other puts something on the table too, whoever wins gets it, disconnecting or quitting would be an automatic lose, you lose what you bet and no way of getting it back but by betting again.

the clan I'm in we usually go only melee and no abilities to make things a little even, with to two parties involve having to agree if they want to duel with abilities and guns included
Gave up on dueling (even for fun) after just a few days. People start putting in rules until it's just a slap-fight between 2 of the same frame (some might even try "no mods"). Had a Frost complain about fighting a Trinity. He loved to 1-shot people with Avanlanche, then pulled a "no abilities" after Link killed him.

Considering most weapons can do over 2000 damage per sec/shot with few mods, and most warframes have less than 2000 health/shields combined with rarely over 300 armor.....
I've played bits of this game & still move like a drunk ninja I've dueled once played I think 10 rounds (not sure wasn't keeping count to busy trying not to get pwned in 0.5 seconds after start of round) the person I dueled was nice , she was trying to help me get better, but at the same time thought kicking my ass was hilarious

moral of the story don't duel for plat unless you know the person or you've been clan friends for a while because they are likely to get salty when they loose and rage quit.
I don't run any dojo fights no matter what it always comes down to who can be cheaper.
Between dealing for plat and selling discounts, there isn't away to avoid getting scammed

I had a duel like this today. To be fair it was like a fight club and none of us knew about the "melee for honor" rule so we were free to abuse any abilities in our arsenal.
One player keeps using wukong. His undying passive is pretty op in duels, also he heals himself by using 2, absorbs damage using 3. This guy refuses to use any other frames. Honestly at that point we just treat him like a dark souls boss. While kinda annoying, he's a friendly dude.
One other player also main a wukong decided to use excal umbra and abuses his 4 and 2 and got some kills.
I too, used a wukong with a fucking proboscis cernos so I was feeling a bit unfair. Later I switched to a zephyr and abused her 4 so my opponent can't move.
Only one player were honorable enough to use his parascesis. But then again, I don't know why but he keeps talking to himself of how awesome his harrow and parascesis is. Like, any normal conversation we have would just end up going back to him explaining about the parascesis. I might as well ask "What do you have for breakfast dude?" And he probably would answer "Oh I made a fucking parascesis today and it needed 1000 ducats lol" it was weird
Anyway. Fun night. There wasn't even platinum on wager or anything. Just some dude killing each other and having fun lol. I wish DE would hold some kind of pvp event.

To be honest, the only way too duel is a good old stand off. Just 2 people with both a one shot kill weapon. Whoever pulls the trigger first wins! Person with the fastest reflex ( or connection) wins :).
Bring Nyx. Psychic bolts would tear his iron skin to shreds and are just about impossible to dodge.
We melee only when we're betting plat, no energy, no abilities.
I fought for platinum once. It was againest a new character who bought 200 plat and said he would bet me it. I knew him in real life and thought it would be fun. He was rank 3 and thought he was very strong (with beginning weapons and had mag). I wanted the plat so I used galatine prime, it was over in 2 seconds got the platinum and he stopped playing warframe. All in all a good day
The onky way to have fair pvp is to fight in conclave, or dojo duel with the same gear on
