- Another rediscovered classic AI gem from the late and great "Reginald Watson". This 1964 classic was part 2 of his ambitious "Smack a B*tch" trilogy. It is said that when he was executed in 1976 for the murder of his seventh wife, he proudly sang this song as they strapped him into the chair. Today, we again honor Reginald and his fantastic music.
Lyrics:
Honey, I'm a man of dignity and respect, when faced with a moral dilemma yeah I always pass the test
I work real hard and I provide for my baby, yeah I was raised to know how to treat my lady
But there's times you get to runnin' that mouth, and yeah that's when I gotta show you what I'm all about
Talkin' back and talkin' that smack, yeah that's when you know you gonna catch a hard slap
I be puttin' these hands into overdrive, cause a back-talkin' ho ain't 'bout to play with my mind baby
But sometimes that mouth it just keeps a-runnin' along, and that's when I decide one smack won't do this job
Yeah, sometimes you gotta smack a b*tch again (one more slap)
When that mouth just won't stay shut and that attitude still runnin' wild as all f*ck
Yeah, sometimes you gotta smack a b*tch again (one more slap)
Cause when one don't do the task, that's when you gotta put a second smack on that ass
Yeah, I was raised to respect, dignity and principles is my middle name, and everyone knows I got a level head
I be goin' to church and prayin' to the Lord, helpin' my neighbors and sh*t, mmm yeah I know the score
But honey that don't mean I won't up and use these hands, when you get to yappin' that mouth and talkin' back to your man
Cause ain't no place for no womanly bullsh*t in this house, and yeah I'm 'bout to up and slap that mouth
But when that don't quite do the job, I be gearin' up again to smack that face twice as hard honey
Yeah, everywhere I go they say "What a upstanding and god fearing man"
But that don't mean you ain't gonna catch these hands
They all be tellin' me what a great, godly christian I became
But that sure don't mean I won't wack that ass and cause some straight pain honey

Such a lovely song.
I remember my aunt and uncle dancing to this song until she said something stupid and unc sent her flying.
Reginald Watson, whose hands were rated E for Everyone
People say Reggie deserved what he got, but it's hard not to feel for him. Realistically, how long's a man supposed to stew in his anger before he loses it completely? Five, ten, fifteen seconds?
😂
The good days, back when music actually did something for the soul ❤
Reginald Watson is one of the greatest influences of soul music of all time. He was a man devoted to singing the patriarchy gospel. A real God-fearing man. Women loved him. Men wanted to be him. A true alpha male. A man of dignity and respect. No one fucked with Reggie especially them whores. He was a fuck about and find out kind of guy. Unfortunately his harsh upbringing eventually led him to the electric chair. But today we remember Reggie for his outstanding contributions to music. 🎶 ❤
