This happened on an E70 X5 that I changed the starter motor on. I don’t know if disconnecting the battery/battery monitor can trigger it but this process did the trick. Always grateful for the informative and entertaining videos. Cheers
do you know why this problem can couse? My customer had this with old car battery. I replaced and clear a foult. 6 months now and same foult come on. Cas module needed to be replaced?
So EWS code was like an immobilizer code? It was just failing to program or initialize due to low voltage? How did the code get set in the first place?
Hi Phillip my E46 2005 has a physical EWS module where this BMW mini only has a CAS module so this code is really just legacy terminology, a low battery voltage causes the fault code cheers sandy
@@sandyande would fitting a new battery solve or clear the code? mine just did this today and the RAC guy said it was a ground to earth on the ECU...... sounded expensive

We had exactly this issue, hooked it up to a charger, and still didn't re-sync. Jump leads running it at 14v worked perfectly! Thank you
Seemingly BMW requires well over 14 volts for programming
Mine managed to pull it off at 12.2V without jumpers
Worked a charm on my mini, driving now, thanks-a-lot

Great job Sandy, 19 scanners , determined to sort it , well done , a nice 30 quid job there buddy 👍👍👍👍
It was helpful I done it thank you 👍👍👍👍
Amazing how a bad or low voltage battery can coarse so many faults in modern cars.
Wish I found this today ffs lol
Not see why can't sync feom first tries, 2 good diag tool not did it. I have same problem yesterday with e90 2008 with cas. I used im508
This has helped so much, thankypu for this video. The last part using a Autel MK808 fixed it for me. Much appreciated 🙏
Hi, are the menus the same in the MK808 to realign thd EWS, or can it be done in key programming.
What diagnostic device did you use to fix crank no start on mini diesel please
Autel but any advance scan tool should be capable

.. modern cars seem susceptible to battery voltage so it just needed a new battery?.
Yes and a CAS resync
What kind of equipment do you need to sort this, my mini got the same problem
Any professional scanner should work
What kind of scanner did you used to stared the car ? I have the same problem and same code
Autel Ms905
Just wondering if you could have done it with the other scanners if the battery was holding charge?
