We owned a cabin in Spaulding for about 20 years. We would always go in November. We stopped when the kids started high school. Could not take them out of school for a week anymore. Nothing like catching an Eagle Lake trout - running, stripping line. I sure miss it. Might have to start going again.
Right on. There a couple of good guides on that lake a google search should find them. I suggest hiring one regardless of your skill level just to get you going in the right direction. Local knowledge is worth its weight in gold in my opinion. Plus you might make some new friends. Good luck I hope you catch a biggun
Thanks Bender. All I did was go fishing Franco made the video good. Trust me he had to go through a bunch of footage to get to the good stuff. It did come out pretty good we are getting better.
Fished there every year for over 20 years until drought. Make the 4-5 hr drive from Sacramento….. rent a cabin … fish for 3-4 days minimum. Always in November…. Catch fish all day most times. Haven’t gone since water got so low…. couldn’t launch at the Jetty. Lots of great memories and stories.
Yessir you can definitely still catch em all day. The water has never really gone up from what I’ve seen. They are making it more boat friendly at the ramp. Last year it put out more fish over 5lbs than I’ve seen in a long long time. It’s still beautiful and a special place to go you should check out it this year if you get the chance

Glad to see Pine Creek flowing fresh water into the lake again
No kidding. Went back up 2 weeks later and it was just a trickle. The lake should fish fantastic late fall early winter
I just bought land by eagle lake and can't wait to experience the fishing

05:41 Wow. An excellent fish on the gorgeous lake. I am surprised to see no other people. 🙂
Yeah most of the people probably limited out early. I only kept one in the morning so could fish the rest of the day. Plus it was storming off and on
Excellent quality fish! 👍👍👍
