      Hi Billy. I never said that is anything wrong with it, on the contrary i said it is impressive, but given the actual market and price point it is not worth buying it, when in the same price range you can get the Moza R5 or the Fanatec GT DD, or CSL DD.

      @@JulianNDL well I agree to a point but when you buy this base now with a sparco mod wheel, it's around 600 ..with that wheel I feel it's a good bargain , it does have a bit over 6NM which is plenty strong IMO ....But I see the point also that a person may as well just buy DD ! But I wouldn't bother with say the Moza R5 that's not much of an upgrade imo ..To make it worth while I would go at least 10nm and above .But again for a belt driven wheel it's the best out there! And I also agree there method of wheel attachment is far outdated , especially that stupid screw ! For me however , I don't change wheels really so it wasn't an issue . Anyway as I said , I upgraded to a DD and I'm very happy ! I went with the T818 because I already had rims .It's been great so far ! Happy Racing !

      @@billynolanjr2266 Owning all 4 (t300, ts-xw, r5 and dd pro 8nm) of them i can surely say that Moza R5 is not just an upgrade from the TS-XW but a huge one. Starting from materials, build quality, feeling, ffb, level of details, and so on to the quick release solution. Even though on paper the TS-XW has more ffb power, in real life Moza R5 is at least 30% more powerful than TS-XW, smoother, faster. But more about all of these in my next Time Battle video where i will compare all 4 of them.

      @@JulianNDLIs the Moza R5 Xbox/PS Console Compatible?

    • @JulianNDL
      @JulianNDL  9 месяцев назад +1

      @markweatherall7437 Unfortunately, no. Exactly the main topic in the comments section of my videos at the moment. I don't understand why all these manufacturers keep ignoring console players.
      Actually, Moza released the R3, which is only xbox compatible, and the compatibility comes from the steering wheel. So, if you own an R3 and an R5 or R9, you could make them xbox compatible using the R3 steering wheel, which for now can't be bought separately.

      I am sorry but that is no reason to spend 500 euros/dollars/pounds on an really old wheel, with an even older QR system, with almost no accessories and a bunch of old steering wheels. With bo decent pedals, etc. Yes, it is still a good wheel but, can't deny that, but it is like spending 50k on an old Vw Golf 3 or waiting a bit and buy the latest Passat, or Merc.

    I notice you say don't buy it because there are better options available for the same price TM are charging for this wheel. And yes i 100% agree with you on that one. The trouble is i am a console player and unfortunately there is only 1 real option to buy a DD base and that is fanatec and they are having real issues delivering them to the UK when they say. So for console players i think this is a great wheel base especially if your already in the TM Eco system. I think i will be purchasing this base as i am not going to spend £1400 on the Logitec DD base with pedals and fanatec are just not reliable enough with QC and delivery time to purchase. I just wish you would specify that you are meaning PC players when you say don't buy it. Console have not many options

    • @JulianNDL
      @JulianNDL  9 месяцев назад

      I did this video more than half a year ago. Back then, the only option for console players was the GT DD Pro. And the price was high, even for the 5nm option. Since then, they lowered their prices so much that yes, now, for the amount that the TS-XW costs, you can buy a Fanatec.
      The TS-XW is not a bad wheelbase. It's the only belt/gear driven wheel base that I liked and was strong enough, but it costs way too much for what it is, what it offers, and for its build quality and materials.
      Yes, it's a valid point with delivery times, and to be honest, I have no idea what's the delivery time now with Fanatec, but, if you ask me, I would wait longer for the Fanatec rather than buying the TS-XW. And, like you said, you don't want to have a day without a wheel, I get that you play on a daily basis racing games, so you're not a casual player. When I preordered my GT DD Pro, delivery time was around 3 months, but I received it after just one month.

      @@JulianNDLfirst off thanks for the reply. I will be honest with my friend I am so torn by this. I really really want to have a fanatec but I am going to have to sell my t300 to part fund the fanatec but it's just the wait that will kill me without the wheel. But on the other hand I am not going to be in a position to be able to afford to get a fanatec for a very long time. So I am going to have to give it some thought to get the TSXW in a couple days (which would still be an improvement on the t300) or take a risk and have to wait 2 months for the fanatec. I think I may just bite the bullet and get the fanatec. Thanks for the reply and the videos

      I totally understand it! I've been through this so many times, and I can say that i got to the conclusion that it is better to get the best I can afford even though that means to wait for it rather than to make compromises, because even though you'll get the TS-XW right now, in a few weeks-months for sure you'll want a DD and yes, you can sell the TS-XW, but you'll lose some money doing that.

    I looked at this wheel for a bit and just couldn't see a reason to purchase it. Once Micro Center started carrying Moza products it was a no brainer to go with them as any issues I have a brick and mortar store I can return it to. Also the quick connect on the Moza is about as good as they get 😁

      You're absolutely right. I think once Moza introduced the R5 and also Fanatec the entry version of GT DD PRO or CSL DD, they killed all the belt and gear driven wheels. I see absolutely no reason why one should buy a belt driven wheel, even more at this price range, which is high, to be honest.

      Now, about buying it. It depends on your budged and on what you are planning to use it. If you're on PC, i would not buy it. It is old, it has outdated technology and it is quite expensive. For the same amount, you can buy a CSL DD Rady2Race, a Moza R5 bundle, or even I would save some more and get the R9.

    I still have it,for the event my fanatec brakes...the time i used it was very nice, with the tlcm pedals and the shifter i still use with pc, cause it is better than the fanatec shifter(never misses a gear). I bought the fanatec just out of curiosity what was the feeling of a dd wheelbase, and also with fanatec could stop using the collective minds adapter everytime i want to change from xbox to pc or ps. If not, would still use the ts-xw. I don't see the reason to not buy it today, if someone is already on thrustmaster and want an aproach to the dd pro, this is it. Just needs the base, nothing else.

    • @JulianNDL
      @JulianNDL  Год назад +1

      It is definitely not worth buying it today for 500 bucks! It's way expensive and the reasons are a lot! It's not a DD first, for such a high price, it's build quality it's worse than Fanatec's or Moza's (completely plastic), even though it's a powerfull wheelbase it FFB details can't be compared to te ones of a DD wheel, being a belt/gear driven base it's not as smooth, it's not as fast and responsive as a DD wheel, it's QR system is a joke, it does not have so many wheel options, and most of all it's an old system and nobody is going to invest in it anymore. Basically, everything you buy for it is obsolete. These bein said, yes, it's a good wheel base. It was amazing back in the days, but today, it's just old and outdated, but still can deliver.

    • @JulianNDL
      @JulianNDL  Год назад

      I keep using this comparation, but it is like buying today a VW Golf mkIII for the money you can buy the latest VW Golf. It doesn't make the MKIII, but you can justify buying it instead of the latest one, except if you're a cars collector.

      @@JulianNDL ok, it's your opinion. I feel not much diference between the dd pro and the ts-xw. If i would know what i know now, i would still on ts-xw. Of course I do not know moza or something else than these two.But attention, i am comparing this one with the dd 8 Nm, not even the 5Nm. Ok, you right 500 is bit too much today, but when you have already wheels, and pedals is something you do not need to spend anymore. And as i said, the handbrake sparco is strong and usable, the wheels can be used here can also be used on thrustmaster dd, the shifter h-pattern is better than many on market, the pedals tlcm are the same as the fanatecs basics and many others. It is most in plastic for sure, but holds. There is nothing to invest more as theres nothing to invest more on other systems too... but for sure you can have your oppinion, as i as a user each day of this machine, have my opinion. And i finish here.

    • @JulianNDL
      @JulianNDL  Год назад

      Of course it's my opinion. I also still own the TS-XW, and that's why I have this opinion. The Sparco handbrake is decent, also the shifter, indeed, but that's not a reason to buy the TS-XW today. If you already own them, you can use them with a USB hub on other systems, too. When I'm saying it's not worth investing in that system, i'm referring mostly to the wheels, as well as the QR system. Yes, the TLCM pedals are, again, decent but you can't compare them even to the CSL DD pedals and here i' talking about build quality, also for the DD pedals you can always get the load cell kit mod for the money difference you would pay for the TS-XW. Again, I repeat myself, it is a good wheel, but not for 500 bucks! It should cost in today's market, and in my opinion, not more than 300 to even start thinking about buying it.

    • @JulianNDL
