I don't know if we should believe that pythons have a smaller carbon footprint than cows. Cows are herbivores. Pythons are carnivores. Every link in the food chain requires an order of magnitude more food to sustain it.
For example, one pound of cow requires ten pounds of plant food. But, one pound of python requires ten pounds of rat, which requires 100 pounds of plant food.

The quote at 8:04 calls them a "flexible source of protein". Obvious joke aside, maybe that indicates that they hope to just feed them "enriched" grain-based junk and slop -- as is done in so many Ag-zilla farming operations. Then will come heavy doses of steroids added to the feed to combat the irritable bowel syndrome epidemic in grain-fed pythons, and all the children being fed python patties through school breakfast-and-lunch programs will be sprouting chest hair in second grade.
BINGO! And as Tyrus pointed out, how are we going to "sustain" the heat needed to keep them alive, much less contained? The "carbon footprint" to farm them greatly outweighs any damned cow.

There's no way this is serious; it's media clickbait. Using predators as a food source is the most wasteful possible practice, as you have to feed and raise their prey animals too.
No, dummy, here in the USA, in Florida, pythons are an invasive species. It started in the keys, but the problem is bigger than they realize. Because of this we have snake hunts. Now there are a ton of pythons and we all know rattlesnake tastes like chicken, so isn't it natural that we'd eat them? Gators Dockside serves gator tail....
They also want us all to eat bugs so i believe this.

Snakes eat meat, so they would need farmers to raise chickens, rodents, etc.. No way raising a meat eater will have a lower Carbon footprint than a grass eater.
