@@tg9388 no we haven’t. It’s not easy to find truck campers in our area of the east coast. As we travel more we hope to! Thank you for supporting RV Unplugged 💙❤️. We are looking forward to seeing it too! 🫣🤣
When I look at truck campers like these (which are very nice indeed) I see 2800-2900 lb weights and $44,000 to $49,000 price tags, I can't help wondering how many people have also priced in the $75,000+ they will have to cough up for a truck able to haul them. $120,000 seems like a lot for campers this small. Just my opinion, everyone is different. Camp on!
In most cases, most have the truck already. Florida is notorious for trucks to pull boats. So an extra $45k is easier than buying a whole RV. The RV trailers can cost 3xs more plus you need a special hitch for 5th wheels.
Besides loosing a sleeping area you also loose a ton of storage space something you will wish you had once you start camping. I'd love the recliners but realistically you give up a lot for this option. The recliner option is fine on a lager rig with multiple slide outs but not in a small camper. If you ever want to take the grandkids or guests you can't. I guarantee you will regret the recliner's and want the storage space back especially on longer trips or winter camping when you need to bring winter gear, sleeping bags and clothes that take up tons of space.
I agree with you. The truck camper is too small for recliners. A sofa with storage would be much more practical. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting!
The Cirrus 820 would be immediately eliminated. I'm 6' 2", so the bathroom height is unacceptable. I don't like a below the counter microwave. And I like a refrigerator with a separate freezer compartment. The Lance has a 45 gallon fresh water tank vs 33 for the Northern Lite. It also has larger holding tanks. And the Lance's bathroom looked a little bigger. So definitely the Lance for the win.
Cirrus has unique heating and HW. why no mention of that? Northern Lite is a 2 piece fiberglass unit, lightweight and very watertight. No mention of that.

I really liked the Northern Lite. Loved the interior wood colors, all the storage, the big fridge/freezer and mirrored door. The downside was the small dark bathroom.
Great video, thank you. I like them all but northern lite is by far the better one I love the way its built, I have had two 5th wheel trailers and both had de lamination issues there for no matter what brand if it has laminated wall its just a matter of time before it happens. in my almost 20 years of owning rv's I have noticed that anyone can put lipstick on a pig and say they build the best but when it wears out you let with just a pig to deal with and the manufacture will always come up with excuses not to help you.
honestly the best floor plan was the 1st one. Plus if you work remotely and want an office you can remove the seating and retrofit a desk and have one awesome mobile office
I love the Lance 960 because we have the perfect F350 long bed to place it on. We've had travel trailers, fifth wheels, and Class C. We're in our 70s now, and hooking up and pulling a vehicle has become difficult. Also, packing and taking outdoor stuff has become too much work. It's time to KISS, Keep it Simple Stupid. Loved the Northern Lite. The 4 season features make this a great off-road and year round RV for sure! Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting.
Hey Susan and Mike! I picked the same two y’all picked. I love the Lance’s bathroom and no dining area. I’m with Susan on their bathroom. It’s pretty roomy for a truck camper. And the dining area is way better without it! I’d have to see in person the optional seating for that space. And my choice is the Northern too. Like Mike, I love the colors in there. And the dining area in the Northern is so inviting to me. It just screams, come sit, eat and visit. I like that. Funny, I like it in this one and like that it’s not there in the Lance. Go figure. So it’s a toss up for me I have two favorites. But, if I had to just pick one, I’d pick the Lance. The kitchen seems to have more counter space. And that’s a big thing for me as I love to cook. And the bath seems to be bigger too. Alrighty, thanks y’all. Enjoyed it! ❤️💜💚
I am partial to short-bed trucks, however, the Lance 960 has a great layout. I like that it does not have a slide and the galley looks very functional. Love all those drawers and the garbage bin!

@@RVBlogger : One thing for me that is a deal breaker is when the Frig is right next to the bed! I also like the long counter and the style of the seating area! 🤔👍🇺🇸🔆
I prefer the Lance too. My only negative is that it has a regular microwave. The idea of a convection oven would be my first choice! Thanks for sharing.
I have never seen the inside of a truck camper. Thanks to you guys, I did now. I like the Nothern Lite. The dark wood color of the cabinets and the cushions. Great video by the way. Thanks for allowing me to see my first truck camper.👍😎👋
I liked the Lance out of all those. Having only a RAM 1500 I"m having to choose a much lighter weight camper but that is the route I'm looking to go when I retire in 5 years! My plan is to live full time in it and no longer have a house full of STUFF.

I actually liked all three, so glad I saw them, now thinking about getting this, instead of an RV! I would go with the Northern lights because it could sleep '4'! Love the interior colors, the backsplash and extra counter space, has my 'must have' oven, and a cute mirrored 'separate' freezer fridge! (another must have) It has a skylight too, definitely another game changer! And that gorgeous U shaped dinette is Fabulous! U can't go wrong with either 3 of these, but this would be my choice, Northern Lights! Thanks. ❤️
The Lance is the one that appealed to me. The bathroom was bigger and the larger kitchen counter space is a plus. Theater style seating is what I would choose. All of them are very nice, but the Lance has my vote.
These are super nice Campers but I prefer our current 20 year old Fleetwood Elkhorn Cabover Camper for our 22 year old 2000 Chevy Silverado 2500 Short bed, 4 X 4 Gas Pickup Truck! We have a Larger all Fiberglass Wet Bath with sink & medicine Cabinet as well as an "On Board" 4 Kilowatt Factory Generator, Full Queen Bed, 40 Gallons fresh water, 30 Black, 30 Grey. all for $5,000 Used!

I have a 2019 Cirrus and I looked at all three of those but picked the Cirrus. I like the new deeper sink and faucet. In 2019 it's relatively small but could easily be changed. The Cirrus Alde heating system is the best by far. So my favorite is the Cirrus. I did add solar to mine which these days with Lithium batteries is a must. I hardly ever have to use the generator.
The cirrus had the best bedroom, more head space and lots of air flow. I also liked the fold up bathroom sink. The last one had the nicest atmosphere with the timber cabinetry and a proper oven, though I'm not a fan of brown. The lance has the choice of seats. It's a real toss up between them all. I'd love to see them use retro colours like red and turquoise with a light timber finish.
HEy Alison Great points thanks for sharing! Thanks for watching and commenting! ❤ Mike and Susan BTW, let us know what you think of RV Camping Magazine, our free digital and video magazine! rvblogger.com/rv-camping-magazine/
I like them all. The Lance has a bigger bathroom and it has the recliners. I imagine the TV will swivel so you can see it from the recliners. As a single person, it will just be me and doggo. I have a travel trailer which I love and spent 4 years full-time as I worked 150 to 200 miles from my house. The truck camper allows for more mobility which is important to me. I met a homeless vet who had an older Ford F250(90ish) truck and older rig that he refurbished into a fantastic rig. That's when I became interested in truck campers. I can tow my motorcycle or trike behind it. Perfect!
We 'll stay with our BIGFOOT CAMPER. It has a dry bath. A stove and oven. Tons of space. We have been camping in the U.P. of Michigan in 22 below zero and we stayed toasty warm.

I agree with your wife on the Lance. The 2022 models look even better. New interior colours and exterior graphics with black accents and I agree with her on the the better seating compared to only having a dinette. We currently have a 2008 Lance 992 double slide outs. They offer so much more room. But I found the dinette uncomfortable to sit in too long. We traded the 992 on a 2022 Lance 1172 which we ordered with our preferred options. We like the layout with the rear slide out which has a couch which is much more comfortable and it still has a good size dinette on another slide out. Our new camper should be delivered this spring.

If I were getting a truck camper, it would have to be a Northern Lite. They are well done, and they have one feature that is hard or impossible to find in other truck campers, and that is a pass-through window to your truck. You might have to take steps to make it work, but it's there and I wouldn't do without it.

We live full-time in a Host, Yukon truck camper. I think I like the Lance. I've heard their excellent products. The color was beautiful. The bathroom seemed a good size. I loved the eurostyle of the NuCamp but didn't care for the bathroom. Sorry the Northern Lite was too orange for me. Keep up the great work!
New subscriber...I have looked at all of them, but I have pretty much decided on the Cirrus 820, probably due to the large windows. I also like the more modern exterior looks and I it fits my existing truck bed. I really did like the wrap around dinette on the NL, but I can always customize that.

Hi Mike and Susan! I like the ones you both picked. I liked the Lance for the bathroom and the seats chairs or can get theater seats and the Northern Lite. Love the color wood and the refrigerator space. The bathroom was a nice size too. Thank you Mike and Susan. That was fun seeing those truck campers. Hope you have a great week and see you soon!

Northern Lites are great truck campers. Unfortunately we don't cover all the great features an RV has. Keep it brief about the floor plans since we tour more than one RV. Thanks for watching our RV tour video and commenting.
@@RVBloggerI understand your point but you're asking which is our favorite. Solely based on what's shown we can make a decision but realistically, if one was to actually buy, we need a ton of information to make the right choice. The main thing you may consider pointing out is the Northern light is fiberglass construction built like a boat thus it will most likely out last the other campers by far and it's much more resistant to leaks which as we all know is the main death nell of all campers once water gets into the walls and roofs and rots them out. This is a major consideration and well worth the added expense. Buy a northern and take care of it, it will out live you. For me a generator is vital. That rules the Cirus out. The bath in the Lance is nicer but the fiberglass construction of the Northern makes it a no brainer. Do the math. Buy a Northern at 60k once or buy 3 or more Lance's. The Lance's last a long time but eventually they will fail especially their floors well known for water damage.
Have not seen a 960 but the Northern lite is hard to beat. I have a 10.2 LE, dry bath, should have went with the wet bath, Bad design on the dry bath, my opinion.
Very interesting point of view on the bathroom. I guess a larger wet bath is better than a small dry bath. Thanks for sharing that information. And thanks for watching our RV tour video and commenting!
We really liked the Northern Lite. It reminded us of a small yacht cabin. Like the colors. Made it look very clean and classic. Just wish the bathroom was a little larger.

I like them all but have narrowed down between Northern lite and Nucamp. However Nucamp is the only company that realizes where a true skylight should be placed and I also like the fact that they are built in Amish/Mennonite country and those people are great craftsmen!

Our favorite was the Northern Light although Fred could use the tall bathroom in the Lance. Fred does a lot of computer work and really liked the dinette the best in the Northern truck camper. We are excited because we are going to be getting a pop up camper put on our truck next week. We had to go light because we will be pulling it behind our class A. Mary 💕 Fred

Any of these three campers would do but my favourite is the Northern Lite. I also like the dining area because it looks so comfortable and it turns into a bed. Thanks guys. Cheers!!!
Would love to see you review an Eagle Cap. We are buying an 811 this week. We were lucky to find a 2019 on consignment. We are "trading up" from a class B as we really like certain options. We'll still have a wet bath, but huge in comparison to our B. We love the concept of having a queen bed that stays made up all the time as the set up and take down of the bed every day was getting "old". We are glad to still have a small rig that will fit in a parking space, but we now gain 4WD in the truck and one slide out. We also can remove the camper and just have the pick-up truck to tour around in when in a campground. That is so welcome. So hard to get a truck camper new in these Covid times, the manufacturers are backed up significantly, so we are excited to find this gently used one on consignment. I think truck campers are under certain people's radar, and are the new up and coming thing. In our opinion, so much better than a van. We are so excited to have discovered what they can do to improve quality of life for us on the road.
Hey Linda, We'll put that on our list to keep an eye out for! Good luck!!! Safe travels and happy camping! Thanks for watching and commenting! ❤ Mike and Susan

Was in love with Lance...I really thought they were the standard for quality in truck campers....until I learned very recently about Eagle Cap, a whole new level for not much difference in price now that Lance has gone crazy. What I like most are layout (and island in a truck camper) and the storage options....i.e. a wardrobe can replace your sitting area.

All good in their own way but for me, I'll stick with my 2020 Bigfoot 10.4. I prefer the separation of space with the mid dry bathroom, the insulation quality and the absolute superior quality of the Bigfoot products. That being said, truck campers get a bad rap. I really wish there were more reviews like the one you have done, I believe it's very fair and I do appreciate your honesty. Thank you, and look forward to your next video upload.

Thanks. ❤️

I own a 21footer and if I ever get rid of it, I’d buy a truck camper ☝️. They are easier to maintain & store; also you can park in most parking lots..
The Lance is the one that appealed to me. The bathroom was bigger and the larger kitchen counter space is a plus. Theater style seating is what I would choose. All of them are very nice, but the Lance has my vote.

The Northern Lites have choices of colors
I like them all. The Lance has a bigger bathroom and it has the recliners. I imagine the TV will swivel so you can see it from the recliners. As a single person, it will just be me and doggo. I have a travel trailer which I love and spent 4 years full-time as I worked 150 to 200 miles from my house. The truck camper allows for more mobility which is important to me. I met a homeless vet who had an older Ford F250(90ish) truck and older rig that he refurbished into a fantastic rig. That's when I became interested in truck campers. I can tow my motorcycle or trike behind it. Perfect!

I love the northern lites. They are four season campers and have a lot of features not mentioned, but also more costly.
I love the Lance!!!

@@RVBlogger Thank you for sharing a great video on these three campers.
Hey Linda,
We'll put that on our list to keep an eye out for! Good luck!!!

The over bed skylight in the Lance is most likely a roof vent/escape hatch. Vital for safety in a truck camper.
Not sure if that window is an exit window or not. Luckily there are two other windows beside the bed that could be use to exit as well. Thanks for the suggestion.
