This is an age old topic which has come to light recently on social media and I'm glad it has come out in the right way. We people love to add accessories for looks, utility but safety accessories has mostly been perceived safety rather than actual safety. When my dad wanted to install a crash guard/ bull bar for our Maruti 800 (23 years ago) our mechanic was strictly against mentioning it does more damage to the cars structure than protecting it, which made us not install crash guards on any of the vehicles we've owned till date. Unfortuantely such sensible advice doesn't prevail now as everything is seen from a business perspective. Thanks to whistle blowers like Vikas for bringing it up !

if the machine was designed to have those crash bars ie. it has mounting points ready then it's engineered to accept those accessories.

Thank GOD, some sensible biker and youtuber made video about these bullshit frame sliders otherwise all others are busy in promoting and giving links in the description to purchase these accessories 😂

Haha I crashed last week on my Honda CB300F, I had just bought the bike a month back. While I was thinking to install the crash guard i thought the price of the guard itself is 4-5k and if I crash the fairing would be similar to replace so I avoided buying it. Turns out it was a good idea. In the crash my fairing got some damage but the frame was not harmed at all. Yes the handlebar was bent but apart from it there was no major damage to the bike. I crashed at about 75kmph. God knows what kind of impact would have happened if I installed those bird cage like guard. Anyways the idea of mounting it inside the main frame was something I hated in the first place so good thing i didn't. Thanks for covering it Vikas sir.

After market crash guard in not at all practical.
Those companies born overnight in last 5 years. Before that there were lot of motorcycle with stock guard and it served well.
Hence, dont go for aftermarket products. Save money, be practical.

Sir is it safe to install aftermarket crash guards or they are as harmful as frame sliders?

I follow a simple philosophy. I buy safety accessories from the manufacturer cos they would've spent millions on R&D and know their products in and out. I won't trust my vehicles's safety on products developed by people who have no engineering prowess in comparison to the manufacturer and who just weld some pipes and sell them. All my bikes have had OEM crash bars.

I use crash guard for the safety of my leg not primarily my bike as my priority is to protect my legs
