@Alpha Momentum.... You are actually the dumbass for believing this crack addicted hookers story. Go watch it again a few times and you will start picking up all the discrepancies. For one.. There was no college age, tall asian guy that was caught and convicted of murdering a bunch of women with a hammer like she claims. She is just telling urban legend stories that hookers tell each other. The actual serial killer that was murdering prostitutes with a hammer was Michael Monert.. a 50 year old white guy that was convicted of 4 murders from 1989 till 1991. He was caught because he left his prints on a piece of plastic wrap by one of his victims. Not because someone turned in a hammer to the cops..... LOL. Furthermore. Think about a hammer and how big the claw is on the back. She claims he hit her so hard she had to pull it out of her head. If something makes a hole that wide and deep in your skull and brain you are flat out dead. Especially since this was in the back of the brain by the brain stem. Her entire story is one lie after another just because as a hooker her job is to lie and she is seeking approval. She claims she cleaned off in a fire hydrant... You think she had a firemens wrench in her pocketbook next to her crack stem to turn on the fire hydrant????? Furthermore...You think any real psychiatrist would tell her he wished he could prescribe her crack??????? Cocaine period is terrible for your brain and extremely hazardous to anyone with mental illness due to the fact it causes cocaine psychosis......Admit it... you fell for a story because you wanted to believe..... You have to take these soft white underbelly videos with a grain of salt. You can't say you believe everything each person says... Would you say the same thing about the kkk videos this channel does where he interviews Klan people???? Of course not. Those dumbasses are idiots and liars.. Same with this hooker.

i get that people want to see the "success stories", about the survivors that are able to create a better life for themselves - but that is not for YOUR benefit if they do. and it's not realistic either of you to assume that it's all about willpower or whatever.
what i've learned is that in most of the cases, wanting to hear the "success stories" is just a selfish thing from people that haven't experienced trauma themselves. i get sick of it.
so, yes - you categorizing some people broken or non-broken, is just horrible. people need proper help to heal trauma, and some people don't have the access to that help, for thousands of different reasons. are those people an inconvenience to you?

There are plenty of people in the grips of their depression, addiction, trauma, etc that haven't mustered the strength or found the way to start the healing process yet, so they are "broken" and/or lost. Imagine living in a country where half of your income is stolen from you to pay for other people's medical problems. I'd rather the former. If you don't have the money to go to hospital, that's your problem.
EDIT: getting a lot of flack from angry snowflakes who haven't read the whole conversation so here are all your points argued below.
No. wanting choice does not make me a "selfish piece of shit" Why assume that I want choice to hoard my money? I never said I was going to keep my money. I just trust myself to give it to people more than I trust the government to as I'm sure they take a cut :)
Yes, as a matter of fact I am medically unfortunate, and no I don't expect your government to steal your earnings and give them to me because of an illness out of any of our control. I'd rather you CHOSE to give to me :) and I'd be fine if you didn't too...because I respect your freedom more than I respect stealing.
To you Americans. No "free"(taxed overpriced) healthcare isn't "amazing", they caused me more problems I needed fixed on private healthcare later anyway. And many other people I know. And in fact, the reason your healthcare is so expensive is not because it's private. It's because; ironically it's one of the most state intervened healthcare systems behind the scenes. The issue here is the state. Not capitalism. Think about it, you're not the only country with private healthcare...yet you're one of the the only ones with HUGE bills.

You grow up. you shouldn't take pride in socialism you twat. Nobody goes to school for "free", it's paid for by tax(everyone). School food is private and paid for by the parents(how it should be) Medical care is also not free, you're paying for it via tax(the NHS wastes 2billion a year btw). I want to have the CHOICE to pay. Not be forced to, like a corporation not a tyranny. I want to pay for MY use of the service. Not other peoples'. And I don't expect them to pay for my healthcare in the same way I wouldn't expect you to pay for the fix for my my broken phone. because that would be MY problem, not yours. And like any responsible adult would, they wouldn't force their problems onto others.I would love to go to my own land and live by my own rules which I could agree on with the local people but I have some tyrannical authority called the "government" which already own EVERYTHING around me because they've claimed it all. There is NO land for me to go and be free, because they already stole it from the natives that lived there prior. You're just one of the many indoctrinated by the central authority, and people like you are the kind of people that were "just following orders" during the holocaust. If intelligence could save us, she'd be saved a hundred times over. She beautifully expresses the darkest things. Sometimes a good brain seems almost like a curse, in that she sees things more clearly.
So much is stuffed inside her brain, it's almost futile to try to get it all out there into words. But she does, and when someone really listens....what beauty there is in her humanity.
Her stories are ones I can relate to. This kind of innately good spirit doesn't die, ever ever ever.

True. I was actually riveted listening to her. She's so eloquent and she describes events in a very vivid manner. Listening to her is like reading a well written novel!

Absolutely! I loved listening to her...her life could be mine except I've never had a substance addiction and never prostituted...but all the trauma.....I've had several people tell me I should write a book.

Precious, precious human being who is still kind, fighting for her life, and able to tell her story. Bless her.

I was folded into a sofa bed once by accident when playing with a friend who wasn't strong enogh to pull me out. It was a coffin under ground - totally trapped. I was not purposely tortured and at age 50, I still feel stressed thinking about it. All I had was one sliver of light and forcing myself to breathe shallow to survive. What THIS poor human went through is unthinkable. How can we as humans bounce back from such horrors without incredible intervention.
