Cobain in an interview said that when they got back to the states from that tour it was like Beatle mania it was nirvana mania and Thurston said that during that tour it shifted from sonic youth being headliners to nirvana being headliners....he was joking of course as sonic youth remained the headliners but ment it in the sense that nirvana's popularity had grown so much over that tour
The scene at the end with Kurt and Kim dancing on the railway track is very moving. Kurt seems so free of the inner turmoil that would go on to consume him. It's strange now to see him like this just before it all went stratospheric. Who could ever have known in the summer of '91 what was about to happen to change music and culture so decisively in the year that followed? Good times.

When I was in Jr High and High School, I would get high and put on an album and just sit and listen to it. I would pull out the insert, read the lyrics, and linear notes. I would look at the art, and it was all an experience. I can't imagine a High school kid today doing that. Music is just some shit you get for free and play in the background while you look at social media, or play video games. It holds no real value. You dont have to seek it very hard. The adventure of life was killed by technology. Just my opinion.

I live in this small city in Sweden and we have this place where bands go and play and it’s called Pipeline, Nirvana was gonna play there just some weeks before they got popular but then they got popular and it was cancelled.
Most of this is from 1991 - the year punk broke, I owned that vhs, but some new parts too. Anyways, great footage from truly a special time in Nirvana's short career.
They played near me, in Edmonton on March 5th, 1991.. about a hundred people were said to have gone to that show. Think how not too long after they were selling out venues. I could not go because I was only 9 on that date, but If i were old enough.
I bought that video after cycling through the city center of Utrecht with Lori Barbero from Babes in Toyland and she refused to tell us the punchline of the joke "what's green and flies over germany?". Man, that was a long time ago...
No wonder he is not with us anymore. He lived in a hospice, nearly everyone around him was a wacko. Still, no explanation will make it fair. So long and thanks for being friends with our feelings through the passion of your art.
