    Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on these boats, it’s incredibly useful for someone looking to dip their toe in the water and buy their first river boat😀

      Thanks for your kind comments yep Freeman's do make a great choice for a riverboat! Well, I think so still to this day The Thames lock keepers use to vote the Freeman 23 as their favourite boat over many years on the River Thames. So I think that says it all really. Thanks for your kind comment. Kev.

      Yep, lovely boats for sure in some ways I wished they still made them but the price now would be astronomical I'm sure! Thanks, Kev.

    A very interesting video thank you. I hired a Freeman 24 and a 27 from Moore & Co on the Norfolk Broads in the late 80s. Really nice boats especially the 27. I used to be friendly with the staff at Moore's having hired their boats for many years. My understanding is that after Freeman stopped production the moulds were acquired by Aquafibre. They continued production of the Freeman 27, with some modifications, and renamed it the Sovereign 27. Moore & Co fitted out these boats and I hired one out in 1990. Great boat. Alas as far as I know Moore & Co no longer exist. Lovely boatyard and lovely people.

      Many thanks for that I thought and kind of knew someone years ago told me that some of the Freeman moulds went to Norfolk so that confirms that! So thanks and they must have built that Freeman for Val Wyatt in 1985. Very interesting so thanks for adding that as it kind of completes the story. It's such a shame how so many of these great boating businesses have all now gone today. many thanks for your great comment. Kev.

    Hi , thankyou for an excellent presentation, your enthusiasm for Freeman boats is very infectious! What are your views on a Freeman 27 with twin petrol engines compared to one with twin diesels?

    • @BramleyProductions
      @BramleyProductions  2 года назад

      I have to be honest I would go for twin diesel engines all the time in the marine damp environment a diesel engine can be more reliable and the biggest thing to me is that petrol is getting hard to buy in marinas these days may be OK if you are more coastal. But inland waterways have very little petrol about you have to walk and find a garage often and fill cans! Whereas lots of diesel is still sold at marinas. Plus then there is the whole safety angle of having petrol on boats but I have boated with a couple of Freeman boats with petrol engines and never had any issues it's just common sense you never take risks with petrol. Lovely boat the F27 whatever engine they have one of my all-time favorite boats ever made for sure. Kev.

    Good afternoon,iv,e owned the 24 which was a very fine boat and am currently on my 22 mark 2 which,is also a very fine boat and full of charm and character ,am considering a change to a 1960 freeman 26 and wondered about your thoughts on the 26 !

      Sorry for the delay in getting back to you I have been switching over to a new computer so missed out on some of the RUclips notifications about comments. Oh, sure the F26 is a very fine boat indeed just a bigger wider F22 really. I mean find a nice one in good condition and you have a super boat for sure. I rate all the Freeman range sadly some are getting old now but there are still some wonderful Freeman boats out there and the 26 is indeed a super boat for sure. Kev.
