As we won't have any new episode of Shameless tonight and no more Fiona Gallagher (*cries forever*) I thought it would be a good time to share my tribute video.
Fiona Gallagher is one of my favorite characters ever and Emmy Rossum did such an incredible job portraying her it's very hard to see her go.
She has been through so much but always got back up, she is such an underrated character and will forever be someone I look up to.

Fiona is not a fictional character. There are millions of girls like Fiona in real struggling through life.

😭 Realest comment. Been watching shameless with those girls. Saw them cry in front of it, so moved to see an authentic, strong, beautiful, honnest picture of themselves. Fiona gave us strength to keep on doing what we were trying to do and to keep on trying to survive life's troubles. She made us feel less alone. And gave us hope that more people could understand the struggle of our lives by watching fiona's story. I'm so very grateful for her character.
And we should never forget this.

The voiceover of Lip saying she needed to hit rock bottom. Like has this girl not hit the bottom multiple times?! She's one of the strongest characters on this show, and deserved to find her peace
I honestly got so mad when he said that! She was the glue that kept that family together and when he fell down yeah she put him out but she did whater she had to do to make sure they had everything so he doesnt get to say that. She bounced her back from everything that she had to through. Gonna miss her.
He meant for her alcoholism. She needed to hit rock bottom to realize she needs to stop drinking.
@@Mxzyck You can't really knock a method that worked. She stopped drinking and started going to meetings. She got a job and picked herself back up. She was being totally destructive and everyone around her was suffering immensely; Lip especially (Xan, Jason, etc). Her taking care of the family in the past didn't excuse her from going off the rails and hurting those who cared about her in the process.
He wasn’t wrong , she was self destructive when she pretty much became an alcoholic. Once she hit rock bottom she finally got her shit together again and left to be happy, so that’s actually exactly what she needed.
@@stonecameraa He isn't wrong, but part of it I feel like was Lip taking out losing Xan on Fiona, and then him throwing her things out seemed a little excessive. I always felt Fiona wanted to be happy where they were at, with the fambam, so it was pretty sad when everyone kinda just let her fall and pick herself back up again. Except Carl. Since he paid for the house back.
The one thing I hate is how Fiona parents these kids their whole life and loves them but every time she messes up Lip throws it in her face and make sure she knows that she screwed up
I felt that cuz I helped my dad with my younger brother and sister .....my sister makes me feel so worthless no matter how hard I try.

And Debbie was suchhh a bitch to her during the whole pregnancy/derek/franny storyline... but they all had their issues and I’m so glad it ended on a good note. They really circled back to their endless love and gratitude for the woman that saved all of them.
that’s why when people say lip did more the most HE did was when he kicked her out of the house when she was a drunk to keep the kids safe other than that fiona did ALL of it she lived in the house for 8 and a half SEASONS to take care of who ever is in there
When he kicked her out of the house like I was so mad at him....when anyone got problems Fiona was there to advice them and take care of them but when she made one mistake they called her a bitch and pussed her away

She’s one of the most complex and greatest characters ever written. Literally cannot picture anyone else playing this role!
She's the most arrogant and selfish character on the show, not to mention predictably shallow and repetive as a character. casting did a great job finding someone as irritating as emmy rossum to play her.
But really she needed more close ups and solo shots of her weird Kermit the frog grimace and gaudy, fake crying. It really added texture and depth and was such a nuanced plot hook everytime. New game: Drink every time you know that Emmy rossum grimace is around the corner and see if your liver lasts any longer than Frank's.
Elwood McGuire How was she arrogant and selfish???? She worked hard to try and support her family, she didn’t choose that life but she had to do and she had the kindness and heart to stick around, unlike her horrible parental role models. She just wanted to live her life but couldn’t because of having to raise all her siblings. And also emmy rossum is a phenomenal actress

honestly shameless really broke my heart and made me furious when it came to fiona. it was heartbreak after heartbreak for her whether it was a guy or the family. she literally did every fucking thing for all of them. when they made mistakes, she looked after them regardless of the situation. but EVERY FUCKING TIME she made a mistake, everyone pushed her away as if she was a disease or trash. they judged her, they never even tried to comfort her. they would throw all her flaws in her face but always somehow forget what they did themselves. and just like the time she started to put herself first, everyone was saying she was being a bitch. the fucking irony, everyone did whatever they wanted to do with no thought of her but every choice she made, they were in her thoughts. I love them all but they don't deserve her. as sad as I am about her leaving, I am glad she finally decided to get away and start something for herself. she deserves happiness. Edit : damn I’m so happy that many agree with me. and I know a lot are saying that she was a “hoe”, no one is perfect, but she NEVER threw her family away. she never had the time to be a “kid”, but she did everything in her power to give them a kid’s life. that is what I’m saying. she never wanted a “thank you” or even payback. she yearned for appreciation and love from the ones SHE LOVED. isn’t it funny that the ones who showed her more care and love was the youngest boys, Liam and Carl. everyone else basically tossed her to the side until they realized she as a human had finally reached her breaking point. fiona deserves every once of love and happiness. she was their sister and mother, but unfortunately they didn’t know how to cherish her.
Debbie's got pregnant on purpose ,Lip struggled with being an alcoholic and fiona went back to school to get her GED so lip can go back to school,ian was bipolar , Carl in the game,and Liam's will his mother figure even though she did fuck up in season 4,but overall she did do a hell of a job she even dropped out of school to help them .

Seriously, the things this woman has done for this family and the amount of shit she gets.
Debbie: "You need to give us money for the bills or no water." Bitch, all the shit she's done for you and this family, you kidding, right?
Lip annoys me the most because he does this every single time. Any time Fiona fuck ups, he gets on his high horse and gives her the biggest amount of shit. MAINLY, because he is scared to have to take her position as head of the house and to have to do the things she did to keep that family afloat and together.
Season 9 pissed me off when it came to her storyline, I wanted her to go out on top, but they ended up breaking her down to her absolute lowest before she made her farewell, annoyed the living hell out of me. Glad she went out nicely.
I swear to god if you have kids, don’t make the oldest or the second oldest watch the others.
It absolutely destroys them.
and that’s on having to mature before everyone else because all you’ve known is taking care of your younger siblings, and always having to miss out on stuff because you’re busy trying to figure out how to help pay bills and make sure the kids eat dinner for the night
Exactly, a child isn't a parent they shouldn't get the pressure of an adult cuz then it also destroys the younger siblings that end up having to be raised horribly by a clueless child
I had to help raise my sisters and cousins .. I don’t blame my mother though.. my dad left and she had to work three full times jobs and couldn’t look after us much..
It didn’t really ruin me, but I don’t want kids of my own now. I feel I raised some already
Don’t put them in a position where they have a large responsibility in the household either like cooking all the meals, cleaning the whole house, or taking care of you because it makes them start to feel like you’re more of a roommate then their parent and it’ll make them not rely on other pp thinking that you have to do it all by yourself bc that’s the way that’s it’s always been for them.
That depends on what you mean by “watch the others”, it’s okay to ask older kids to babysit every now and then, but you can’t expect your firstborn to be the parent.
I think her departure is just genuinely beautiful. It’s so realistic and her character deserves that after all. I like to see it as a character development for Fiona rather than “one major cast leaving the show”.

I don't know how to be anything else than a parent-blaming fuckup that lets my fucked up parents meddle in the lives of their children and then abandons said children whenever I feel I need to make a half-assed attempt at amounting to something. I let a toddler get into a sack of cocaine and surround my younger family with junkies and thieves. What a strong, poor woman. Or a poor, strong woman. Opinion seems divided.

I'm crying. Emmy was so good at her craft. Shameless won't exist without her character(Fiona). This is a wonderful tribute to the ups and downs of the character. Very good thoughtful editing that brought the highs and lows and exceptional acting on Emmys part.

Ithe saddest things of all is that Fiona always deserved more respect from her siblings. They never appreciated her help enough never respected her and never fully understood how much she sacrified for them. They always took her for granted and that made me so angry. Everyone says how Frank is a selfish bastard but I don't see any of them any better. They are all very selfish and they never thought about Fiona and what she had to go though for them. She litterally gave her best years for them and she never even got a simple Thank you. Debbie and Ian are one of the most selfish characters on the show....self-centered and arrogant and the way they treated Fiona eally pisses me off.
I started crying in the middle of this. This show brings a tear to my eye almost every episode. The fact that Fiona looked after all her siblings and took care of all them and then when she makes one mistake they all turn their backs on her. Fiona deserved better in season 5 and 6. Fiona was such a powerful woman in the show.
The main thing that pisses me off about Fiona's last episode was Frank and his "You sure helped a lot" bullshit. But I digress, this tribute to Fiona was VERY well made, you deserve some kind of award for this. Thank you for putting it together.

It always makes me so emotional seeing the scenes where Fiona breaks open and cries and then takes a deep breath and stops. It’s like she allows herself one moment of weakness before steeling herself and going on again.
I relate to fiona so much because I constantly take care of others and I never put myself first and I am always there for them, if they make a mistake I help them fix it and if I get overwhelmed or depressed I cry it off in the bathroom, fix myself and move on. but the second I make a mistake, the second it all becomes too much and I make a mistake I am thrown out and on trial for everything, no second chances just people screaming at me, turning against me and I still care for them anyway

Fiona Gallagher made Shameless one of the greatest shows ever.
I have to take care of my 5 brothers. I cook, clean, do their laundry, and make sure they are ok. It really sucks, but I dont blame my dad, because my mom left and he has to work. I stay with them when they have nightmares, i dont go to school if they are sick, instead I take care of them. I am always exhausted, all because I wake up at 7am, and go to sleep at 3am. I love all of my brothers, and would do anything for them, but its exhausting. All of the mental breakdowns in the bathroom, getting called mean and stupid, the pressure from my dad to always do better... it's all worth it as long as my brothers are happy, healthy, and comfortable. For anyone else who has or is going through this, just let me say: Thank you. Thank you for caring, thank you for being there for who ever needs it. Thank you for being a great human being.

in season 9 when Debbie wasnt allowing Fiona into the house because she wasnt paying made me honestly cry, and so fn mad. Fiona kept them alive growing up, and for Debbies character not accepting that made me crazy.
I haven't seen the 9th season yet. Omg, I can't believe Debbie did that, especially after everything that Fiona did for her. Debbie was so sweet as a child in first couple of seasons, but later she turned into very stupid, arrogant, rude and very selfish bitch. Her choices and decisions vere so dumb, but she was too stubborn to listen to Fiona. The way she treated poor Nial was horrible and the way she treated Fiona really made me mad. She never appreciated all the sacrifices Fiona made for her.
