When I was four my mom had my little sister. I remember when I was around eight my mom said that if I was with her and someone tried to come at us I was told to make sure she ran and I stayed to deal with the attacker. I mentioned this idea to my sister years later and I told her that I would rather be the one getting what ever they set out for than her and she said good because she was going to run no matter what. As the oldest sister I feel like we are only made to be the bullet proof vest the others can wear so they won’t have as much to carry, then we have people asking why we are who we are.

I had never thought about those aspects that Carina and Katniss have in common: always trying to do the best for their younger siblings, sacrificing their happiness/life for them, but in the end having to suffer the pain of losing them. Thank you, Cam, for making this edit and showing me how much in common two characters have, because they have been so significant in two different periods of my life.
By the way, finding out that you also included Maeve felt like finding a little hidden gift.
