I agree. I see a lot of people say in this comment section they have parents who dont love then or show them. My parents always do, like a couple hours my dad told me I was cute or beautiful ( forgot wich) and tells me every day

The thing with abusive parents is that they're so good at manipulating us and making us believe that we're wrong and all they're doing is out of love and when we have just one good day with them they make us feel like we were just overdramatizing things in our little minds and when we're finally depressed they still manage to make us blame ourselves💔💔
Like I refuse to allow my kids to ever go through what I'm going through and what I went through and that's a promise I'm willing to keep

What If they did grow up with a parent for a while? My cousin 's dad due to a heart attack when she was 13 and now she is 15. My dad's dad left them when he was young and died of cancer

The second scene gets me because of how real it became. He did marry a "beautiful honey" and while I don't think two kids counts as a "whole bunch of kids," I think, in a way, we are all Will Smith's children. So in a way, he did have a"whole bunch of kids.". And he raised them better than his father raisied him.

Most parents try to be better then their parents...
all parents fail in one way or another... either through forgetting to teach their kids a valuable lesson that was too obvious for them OR by never being thought that lesson in the first place...
Then it up for the next generation to heal themselves from their trauma in order to make sure their kids do not inherit it... then teach them the lessons they learned from their life...
this dynamic has existed for millions of years, but now when humans has gone from a state of surviving to a state of living it is more important then ever!

I'm 19 years old and I have a broken family. My mom and dad already have problems even before I was born I guess, I never experienced a whole family. They still have a feud until now. I wasn't blaming them for my shortcomings (although before I did). I kinda pity them actually because I know they were young and immature when they became together and the fact that they thought they could build a family is outrageous. They never thought about the consequences of their actions and they never thought that it was going to affect me in some way. Now, they blame me for my shortcomings, they actually never thought that maybe some of those came from a broken family problem. Now, like any other children from a broken family, I'm lost and I don't know if my parents are gonna be there for me.

I can imagine without my family not being in my life or my dad. My family tries to be nice and sweet but then all of a sudden they aren’t supportive. It hurts bad it does. If I wanna cry I can. Yeah everytime, whenever I try to open up and express my feelings, thoughts, grieves, pain and traumas to someone. It ALWAYS ended up ME listening to them, ME who's patting their backs, ME who's trying to understand them when It's me who needs someone at the moment.
It's not that I complained. It's just that I also want to be heard, I also want a hug, an advise, an ear that I could borrow even just once.

I had problems with my dad growing up, and then he wasn't a part of my life, and slowly got a little bit of a relationship with him within the past few years, but he's my dad and I grieve for what we could of had. I just want him back. I want to talk and get to know him. I never thought my dad would die when I was only turning 25. He had issues in his family and I just wish everything had been different and I miss what could have been, and I miss him even though he couldn't be what I wanted him to be, he still loved me. Especially seeing he had all the cards I made him and had our picture up in the apartment. He loved us. :(

Yes apparently showing love to your kids is too much to ask from a parent, My parents were the same no matter what I did to make them proud I never saw love in their eyes for me or saying they were proud of me... I have children now and everyday of every second i tell my children I love them and hug them because I don't ever want my children to feel unloved the way I felt with my parents.

it’s hard when somebody says “I haven’t had a dad my whole life? Why r you complaining u spent most of your life with him” i know it’s hard for thoes who don’t have a dad who cares and never stayed or died while there children where young. But when u spend most ur life with ur dad its probably harder because ur not used to him being gone.
This video hits hard. Both my parents abandoned me, and I lived through shit like this, and i'm glad they're gone, because you know what. I'm sick or crying, thinking it's my fault, like I didn't try hard enough, like being born was my choice and I did it to spite them. Because, you know what, it's not my f*cking fault they did it and I was born. But, it's still hard to know you are hated and cursed for being born. As much as I hate them, it hurts not having a family.

It's always the mother that stay no matter how much she been through.she always support u even when she at her lowest. but a father he leaves and don't look back instead of looking back he find a new family to care for when he has a family. when people use to say I need a father in my life I would I'll say who need a dad that leaves and don't come back. when u have a mother that stayed that never turned her back on u. she is always there when she at her highest and when she at her lowest. when she Broke and has no money she always find a way to feed u. so who need a father when all u need is your mom so if anyone is reading this then go hug your mom and tell her u love her.

Omg ur so lucky my dad doesn't even care to send a text message saying just "hey" anymore. That's all I ever really got from him. Now I get nothing. Cherish every moment you get with your dad. He had a choice to leave you, and he didn't. :)

Its heartbreaking to know. Everyone should deserve to be happy in life and not have to worry about what they look like, how many followers they have, wether they look good enough, if they are skinny enough, and overall if someone loves them. Everyone should love themselves no matter what skin color, hair color, height, weight, gender, or sexuality. I mean, when you really think about it, all of that sh*t is ridiculous. If they have the smallest flaw, they get called out for being different, and cant end up living a happy life

It’s the other way around for me. My mom is still around, but she spends so much time working I barely have any time to do anything with her. It would’ve been easier if it weren’t for the fact that my dad refuses to keep a job and can’t control his temper so he keeps getting fired.
