It's been a while ~ I don't care~. I have subscribed and I am watching every move~. I was able to get a 1998 with some unknown mileage ~ That is so so so clean. No title but a key. I was going to turn it over for a profit. The price was very very low. The mileage is no more than 20K ~ the digital odometer is messed up. You Brits would be sick to hear. Anyway. Looks like I'll register the bike, get NH plates and make it all proper. This video ~ my bike ~ Is GOLD! Thank you so much for sharing this.
Nice way of removing the engine Ian, love the videos i always look forward to them keep up the good work mate, i really would love another MK1 Bandit, i have a 2007 Bandit but it only has 4500 miles on from new and in a heartbeat swap for a MK1 again great videos Regards Mark....
Thanks for the comments Mark, got shown the engine trick years ago so easy when working on the bike by yourself, will have plenty more bandit videos coming don't you worry (and lot's of other bikes as well!) The MK1 is the way to go but I do like the look of the 2007 model, all the best Ian
Ian your vlogs are no rubbish, down to earth, straight forward, no bullshit talking and demonstrating videos, there is only few like you left on youtube, i watch youtube more than TV......
Just acquired my mk1 bandit with 18k, passed its mot on Thursday but unfortunately its been stored for a few years so is needing stripped which will be my winter project. Thanks for this video very helpful. How long did it take you to strip it to frame as mine is the teal colour and its getting a change of colour.
Broski, that was helpful, I'm breaking down a 2001 and selling off parts, do you recommend a site to sell parts on? I also want the swap a low miles 2001 motor into a 2005 high miles bike, feasible?
And I thought changing oil and filters was consider a good mechanic and motorcycle understanding 😂😂😂😂 ❤your video but after watching... I'll rather buy another bike
Hi Joey, I wouldn't say I've got a photographic memory but I have taken apart and put back together a few Bandits over the years. Plus I can always watch the video back if I do get stuck
This is my thing I'm about to consider taking my engine out not forks or swing arm etc but I'll be sure to put bolts where I know I won't a )lose any b) know where they go lol
Alun Saunders I’ve put the rear spindle in the wrong way around so when you tighten the nut it doesn’t affect the chain tension as much as it normally does the “correct” way around, I’ve done this to all of my bikes over the years.
I like that stand ! I plan on giving my 981200 the over all this winter. I passed 50k miles on my Bandit this year. Great videos !
Thanks Daniel, let us know how you get on with your Bandit project

Man I love your video, the light is so beautiful.
Thanks Danilo we do try our best!
I just pray that you've posted the re assembly. Oh please please please! ~ Steve from New Hampshire
I hope you found that washer that fell out when you took out the swing-arm spindle. Loving the series btw.
Thanks Amateur Enthusiast, glad you are enjoying the series, don't worry I got the washer I put it on the spindle for safe keeping.
@@Classicmotorbikes I was worrying about that washer as well!

Thanks Mark, really appreciate the kind words
Well done, I bust my guts lifting a 1200 lump out on my own! Interested to see how you put it back in. Looking forward to the gearbox repair.
Thanks T Will, I've got a trick for getting it back in, I'm glad you are looking forward to the gearbox repair I'm not sure I am!
You know when your watchin' a real man, when you have to use censored signs 😂👍🏻
Nice work fella
Thank you kindly Aandepainters

I order to remove the head do I have to follow all of the steps you took or is there a way to just remove the head without removing the whole engine.
How do I install the bottom mounting brackets with the engine in place? Ta
cracking series helping me a lot but what model abba stand are you using there ?
Lee Robinson it's a skylift 👍
Do you have any bandit mk2 videos as I'm starting to strip mine down but never done anything like this before thanks in advance
excellent, again! thank you for sharing and teaching. Now i know it is possible!
Thank you Jon, the Suzuki Bandit is a great bike to learn some mechanical skills on 👍
Good idea I'll try that next time
Great job!!

Planning when I get funds on line to buy a kit for bandit any recommendations?
Hi SW, do you mean a tool kit?
Turbo kits or just ways to tweak performance stuff like that aha
And I thought changing oil and filters was consider a good mechanic and motorcycle understanding 😂😂😂😂
❤your video but after watching... I'll rather buy another bike
Am doing a mk2 gsf600s bandit it's the same problem the frame needs powder coated it's a real pain
Hi James, hope your project is going well, most Bandits I see have some rusting come through due to age, well worth getting it powder coated.
I wouldn't have believed it. Until I tried it. I finagled it with it for 30 minutes. But after it was on it it's side, it came out in 5 mins.
Great advice
Hi, I've recently bought a bandit and I've been told that the engine is prone to chipping and rusting. What would you recommend to prevent that?
Great job bro
i asking if you can tell me the weight of frame and engine approximately...
I think the frame is around 20kg and the engine about 50kg, I know they are heavy!
Classic motorbikes thanks...
Camera B looks so good
Thanks Daniel 👍
Bravo!
You keep dropping parts in your tool box or on the work bench. How are you cataloging all these parts? Do you have a photographic memory?
Hi Joey, I wouldn't say I've got a photographic memory but I have taken apart and put back together a few Bandits over the years. Plus I can always watch the video back if I do get stuck

Cheers Geoff, much easier than trying to pick the engine up if that makes sense.
Your a beast bro. ❤
Your rear spindle was in the wrong way round
Alun Saunders I’ve put the rear spindle in the wrong way around so when you tighten the nut it doesn’t affect the chain tension as much as it normally does the “correct” way around, I’ve done this to all of my bikes over the years.
What stand is that
Hi Adam, it’s an ABBA Skylift, I’ve done a video review that might interest you.
Or a trolley jack easylife#
Rear spindle is on the wrong way !
Not so much taking the engine out of the frame - taking the frame off the engine!
Hahaha, thanks for censoring the builders' bum...just had my dinner, think I might have struggled to keep it down. :)
No problem, no one wants to see their dinner twice!
I could probably strip it down but make a right arse of putting it back together again
That's the toughest bit, putting it back together! but if you take your time is not too bad 👍
