I bought a 1200 Bandit New in 2000 - had to sell it in 2002 - broke my heart. Saw it for sale on eBay last week and bought it back yesterday - happy day. Just found this series of programs on RUclips and I'm sure they'll be handy - over the last 16 years it can't have been loved like it was by me. Thanks for making the programs and keep it up.
That's awesome Peter, love story with a happy ending but i hope the bike has been loved over the years, let me know how you get on with it again and glad you have found us!
My brother passed away in a mc crash. Before he went he schemed to get me back on a bike. He had a 2000 Bandit which he gave me. I take every RideForlife course. Big help plus constantly practice. I can never get rid of the bike so I will have to maintain it well for the next 40 or so years. Your videos are brill! Thank you 😎
So Sorry to hear this Ian. I've a lot of time for the Bikesafe courses, everyone could do with a refresher and there is always something new to learn. Good to hear you are keeping his bike going if I can help in any way just let me know. Ian
I need to replace my engine but having watched your superb video strip down of a Bandit, I realise that it will be too much for me to undertake now! Many thanks.
I had a 600 bandit sold it and felt the heart ache, I've now bought a 1200 project and came across these videos so helpful well explained cant wait to start getting mine stripped using this
@@Classicmotorbikes just bought a 1997 mk1 today aswell as it was mint and couldnt resist lol I've started taking the tear end apart and had to stop due to lack.of tools so ebay was used for everything I've kust received everything that was ordered the last few days so going to start stripping the old girl this weekend
Glad I found your Bandit o'clock ! I subscribed, it will help me out on my restoration ! I bought mine with 300 miles in 99. It worth much more than the retail value. I call it my Timex.
Thank you for the kind words Daniel. WOW you have had it a few years then! I’m gutted I stripped my first bandit 1200 for parts but I did a check online and someone has rebuilt it and is riding it around, good to know it’s back on the road being enjoyed. Ian
Really awesome videos Ian, my wife has bought me a few accessories for my Bandit at Christmas including a service kit, wheel decals, bar raisers, charging port for my phone but have not yet got around to doing any of them, however your videos are inspiring me to do so although its nothing like you are doing it just gives you the kick up the backside and gives you the interest, well done again. I told you about my a Bandit 2007 with around 5000 miles from new, im looking for a MK1 now and i might have one i will let you know how i get on Regards Mark...
Thanks Mark, really means a lot to us its inspiring you to get to work on your bandit, keep us updated how you get on and yes let us know if you find a MK1. Shroomy
Gonna have to give the original series a look as well as watching this one.. Just wondered about the price of the Oem front Discs you mentioned...price wise... Enjoying the series btw.
Hi Weggy, just looked at the front and they are back to the normal price £190 each for genuine and £160 for pattern with only a £60 difference I would still go genuine myself, but just noticed the rear disc genuine is £78 and pattern is £80, work checking out from time to time as they do change the offers regularly. Hello chaps, I'm interested in why you go for OEM discs rather than aftermarket? I've seen some EBC Prolites I like the look of, as my standard discs are near replacing time. Is it a false assumption that aftermarket discs by peeps such as EBC are in some way superior to OEM? Thanks in advance should you choose to reply, Glenn
Thanks for the question Glen, I think all round you can't beat standard discs, nothing wrong with EBC just feel the OEM ones last longer and prefer how they feel when braking but thats just my opinion, hope you are enjoying the videos.

It isn’t too bad to drop the engine out. Putting an engine in is a pain, mainly as it is a hefty lump.
Thanks for the mention Ian!
No Problem Darren, glad the videos have helped and inspired
These videos and including series 1 are great. I have a mk1 b6 and I've learnt loads by watching. Thanks.
Hi Wayne, thank you for the kind words, glad you have picked something up from watching the vids 👍

Hey Tony, sorry about the slow reply. I sold a 1200 bandit and felt the same. How are getting on with your project?

Thinking of either buying a used bandit 600/650 or a yamaha XJ6 as i've passed my A2 licence, which would be best?
For me it would have to be a Bandit 600/650 but I'm a Suzuki guy through and through
Can vouch for bsd, mark turned my 1250 bandit into a missile after a few hours work on the dyno
Mark is the man to when it comes to dyno work
