I did not enjoy this video because it came across as two good old boy Republicans reminiscing about the fun they had during the Trump tenure. I could only get through about half of it. Disappointing.
McMaster still singing trump’s praises is very disheartening. Trump was the worst as well as the most destructive and divisive president in our nation’s history.
McMaster is singing praises to DJT, and yes some of his ideas may have been great, but.... as McMaster says DJT would change his mind and add things to the original plan and not stay focused on the overall objective. This is a sign of weakness. If DJT were a company commander in an armored division he would have been relieved of command. Just vote for Harris.
Yes, the psychopathic lying, delusion and narcissism. (Ask your family physician, don’t believe me.) And, the fact that he has the attention span of a gnat. A lot of his companies folded because, not only is he a poor businessman, he loses interest…and, has Zero care or empathy for the workers who are suddenly without a job or healthcare.
Yup. There were some qualified folks working in the White House during DJT term and the things they got right was to their credit, not DJT. Those quality folks were slowly fired by DJT so that by the end, the majority remaining were DJT cult members.
Thank you... I dream of a country where we see "compassionate conservatives" willing to send its survivors back out into the light to fight FOR the GOP to survive, and to fight back against apathy & toxicity. We deserve better.
Great insights from a great man. As a management consultant, I worked with a leader like Trump, ironically at a family business that was being merged. Walking on eggshells with a highly reactive explosions that took us to unproductive conversations. Weird beliefs and worst of all, no none could shine lest they somehow outshine "the boss." Let's turn the page on Trump and get back to leading.
You said you don’t understand Trump’s relationship with Putin. To me, as a (retired) therapist, it is pretty straightforward. Trump was psychologically overwhelmed by Putin because of his unresolved toxic relationship with his father.
I do not find McMaster to be very objective in his self-evaluation of actions while serving under Trump, who he seems more inclined to be an apologist for, overly consistently so. Overall, just not that impressed as he seems to be very much under the Trump spell; perhaps, he was just too close for too long. Trump ALWAYS played the contrary role: A) because he didn't know ANYTHING (and was embarrassed) and B) to feed his unconscious NEED for creating chaos from which he can eventually derive benefit for himself EVERY TIME. His psychological type is SO EASY for people like Putin to manipulate, and he did consistently.
All but one of my Republican friends admit the mistake of supporting trump. The sense of honor coming from our leadership should be held in the highest degree. And it's not even close this November... #DUMPtRUMP _💙🌊🇺🇸_
He's not in the military anymore. So it's time to take sides regarding Trump/Maga or sanity. Thank you for your service. Now you can take a stand and help the country more than ever but you are dropping the ball.
Flynn was out by "2.1 Scaramuccs"... I always laugh when things are measured in Scaramuccis. Good interview. I recognize that guys like McMaster are why Trump's first term didn't totally collapse into utter disaster. The people surrounding Trump (the good ones) worked to prevent his worst inclinations. But, even with those efforts, Trump couldn't help but induce a bunch of problems and be a consistent source of chaos. The general tries to paint a kind of balanced critique of Trump, but let's face it, if you have to really tailor how to present basic information and geopolitical concepts to the US President, just so the President can kind of understand it his way, you're dealing with a serious problem. Reading comprehension and effective analytical thinking are essential for the number one, and Trump ain't got those capabilities. When Trump talks about NATO, he's either being disingenuous about how the alliance works, of fundamentally doesn't understand the arrangement at all. He clearly doesn't see the value of NATO, and how that collective security greatly helps the USA project influence and support national security at a fraction of what it'd cost otherwise. And Trump's pandering to Putin is absolutely beyond the pale. His and the MAGA's efforts to undermine Ukraine's defense and our ability to provide assistance against what's clearly merely the first salvo in Putin's grand scheme to reconstitute the Russian Empire, is astonishing and inexcusable. Also, this idea that Trump's disruptions are somehow a good thing is ridiculous. You don't ruin something in order to fix it. My dishwasher stopped working recently, and I didn't beat it with a sledgehammer. I took the door off and sponged out some water that had collected at the bottom of the device. Snapped it back together and it works great. Incremental repairs are usually much better than demolitions, but Trump wants to set fire to government institutions, especially voting, and some of the more swarthy GOP operators are only too happy to help him do it. Anyway, I appreciate Scaramucci's efforts to shed light on some of these issues with Trump and his toxicities. If only more Republicans wouldn't kowtow to Trump and/or simply go along with his unAmerican activities.
Mooch needed to say what you have written here. The fact that he didn’t make this a lousy interview. It’s a shame because I like mooch. McMaster is repulsive and a disgrace to the uniform.
Hard disagree on Trump caring about the country. Trump would only like to get things done. If you meet him look better that’s all he cares about is himself.
Gees, Mooch. You're making a real meal ticket out of your years with Trump. Even time I fire up YT., I get another Mooch video trying to explain Trump's thought processes. I'll give you the tip, there's not that much going on upstairs with the orange one.
Anthony, ask Generals McMaster, Mattis, and Kelly to do a Lincoln Project ad denouncing Trump. It would be especially devastating to Trump if Kelly tells Americans about Trump's "suckers and losers" statement. Excellent and thoughtful insights on your shows, Anthony. Keep fighting for democracy.
I thank H.R. McMaster for his extended service in both the military as well as the trump admin. But I am disappointed by his discounting of the harm trump caused, some of which was criminal. I am also disappointed by his failure to see how central money is to trump's thought process. This $10 million 'Egyptian mystery' is just the latest. As for being a 'deal maker', even in trump's early days, could anyone believe that Mexico, with an economy a twelfth that of the U.S., would pay the estimated $20 billion (equivalent to $240 billion, based on their GDP) to build a wall? A true negotiator would have contacted officials in advance, propose a pro-rata contribution, and in exchange, the U.S. would strive to stop arms sales/shipments to the cartels.
Wow, McMaster really spends a lot of energy continually normalizing Dumph. Clearly, what I have learned about our country, what normal is, civic virtues, etc., is not the same as other people's formulating experience.
Disappointing to hear what he said today. I would say based on this today I wouldn’t buy the book. Playing both ends and it is going against the middle.
This was informative. As a liberal, it was important to hear things like the critique of Biden's handling of Ukraine and Afghanistan from someone who has credibility based on actual experience. As I was contemplating the above response, a funny thing happened. Walked into the bedroom and looked down to the slower shelf on my night stand. There, in large print, I saw, "H. R. MCMASTER" on the the cover of "Dereliction Of Duty." Not an easy read, (LOTS of names & details!) but I'm approaching it as one would when eating an elephant: one bite at a time!
Just remember that he has his own biases and political opinions. Like everyone who writes an autobiography. There are several different sources I would dig into for a nuanced set of opinions.
Although I haven't read his book; as a regular viewer of "Goodfellas," I learned nothing new about McMaster's hagiography and apologia of Trump. In fact, he's been asked the same questions by more or less sympathetic interviewers so many times, that his narrative has been honed to perfection. But I'm not blaming Anthony for not pressing. If Trump really threatens the Constitution, McMaster may yet still be needed in the future.
McMaster is naive about whether Putin has anything on Trump and trump wanting to do something to help the country. The Muuch is right on about the money and power thing.
HR is patently in trumps camp, a true believer and it is difficult to agree with his one sided conclusions…and I like and admire him. Won’t be buying the book.
It is mcmaster's duty to the Constitution to make it very clear that Donald Trump must not ever be back in the White House and McMaster does not make this distinction in this interview or in other places
McMaster is positioning to be taken back by Trump, possibly for the purpose of keeping Trump from doing more stupid things. It's disappointing, coming from a general.
I VERY much agree with the potential for a center-right party to arise. I also think if it is center-ish enough, many center-left will feel right at home there. I say that as an INDEPENDENT.
I don't see Trump the same way as McMaster....of course we weren't on inside. I think 2nd administration would be worse than the 1st. Trump is so incoherent it's scary.
Good interview -- but no mention of Trump's infamous tete-a-tete with Putin when he dismissed not only his aides but even the US interpreter. Significant, surely?

Good content, Anthony, appreciate the effort. One point to bring to your attention, it's not "the Ukraine", it's "Ukraine" without "the". You don't say "the France" or "the England", same with Ukraine
I’m afraid that the General’s criticisms of Trump sound too mild to stand out. I think it would help if he extrapolated and discussed the specific possible consequences of Trump’s flaws if he re-enters office.

Thank you for sharing and I’m hopeful that even Republicans remained loyal to Country not man.
Amen!
You are doing the right thing for the right reason. Let's hope you set an example for others similarly situated.
Thanks for your post....Trump is not a republican...you can sleep easy with your choice.
I did not enjoy this video because it came across as two good old boy Republicans reminiscing about the fun they had during the Trump tenure. I could only get through about half of it. Disappointing.
I can't trust anyone who won't get off the fence when it comes to Donald Trump.
Exactly
McMaster still singing trump’s praises is very disheartening. Trump was the worst as well as the most destructive and divisive president in our nation’s history.
Copy that to the power of 10.
He is a pathetic hack!!!
Im certain McMaster understands everything you are saying. Do not worry abt that.
McMaster is another maga-lite, fine with whatever happens because he's doing ok for himself
McMaster is singing praises to DJT, and yes some of his ideas may have been great, but.... as McMaster says DJT would change his mind and add things to the original plan and not stay focused on the overall objective. The only way rrrrr😮the uuiuurrrwiiii
Whatever Trump was, he ain’t no more and I don’t think he was ever anything!
Plus there's the psychopathy ...
@@CR-bb5hvMcMaster is a neocon, I would not listen to him ever!
I think McMaster is giving DJT too much credit for any kind of thought pattern...
Yup. There were some qualified folks working in the White House during DJT term and the things they got right was to their credit, not DJT. Those quality folks were slowly fired by DJT so that by the end, the majority remaining were DJT cult members.
Understatement
Trump not weak? You kidding General 😂
I lost respect for McMaster when he said Putin doesn't care who wins. It's almost like he doesn't understand the danger our country is in.
Yeah that was weird.
Copy that
I would imagine that Putin has "Evil Plan A" for if Trump wins, and "Evil Plan B" if Harris wins.
It’s because McMaster was a pity hire. He should never have been a general.
48 Years in the GOP here, including Reagan California think-tank and 1980 campaign alumni.
But this year…..
🎉COUNTRY OVER PARTY🎉

Spot on!
Agreed 💯
Oh man, right on. .. Copy that.
I respect HR McMaster, but I do think he’s rationalizing and doing a lot of apologizing.

The sense of honor coming from our leadership should be held in the highest degree. And it's not even close this November... #DUMPtRUMP _💙🌊🇺🇸_
This guy is far too partisan for someone in the military. It seems very wrong!
McMaster reminds me of William Barr.
He's not in the military anymore. So it's time to take sides regarding Trump/Maga or sanity. Thank you for your service. Now you can take a stand and help the country more than ever but you are dropping the ball.
Yup
PUSH BACK MOOCH, FOR GODSAKE PUSH BACK!!
McMaster is full of it. He would go work for Trum0 again in a heartbeat. And I wouldn't be surprised if he has political aspirations of his own.
No leader can truly serve if he's only as good as the last person to whisper in his ear and currently with Trump that's Laura Loomer

I feel like this guy has to say moving the embassy had nothing to do with October 7th since he had a little something to do with the decision making.
When Trump came out of the meeting with Putin in Helsinki, he looked like a sheepish little adolescent who just been caned.
Obviously, McMaster aspires to serve in a second Trump administration.
That’s right and he is utterly disgusting.
Too painful to see McMasters still bootlicking.
Painful and revolting
After seeing Drumpf at first hand and writing about him im a book yet still won't vote for Harris tells you all you need to know really
Copy that .... Bingo.
Exactly

Always struck by how cool and not full of themselves people in actual battles are.

Me too. He is a bozo and his book should stay in the distributor’s warehouse..
Wow, McMaster really spends a lot of energy continually normalizing Dumph. Clearly, what I have learned about our country, what normal is, civic virtues, etc., is not the same as other people's formulating experience.

Wait, did McTool just blame Biden for the Oct 7 attack? LOL - lost all cred on that one. C-yah!
H.R.McMaster a true American trader.
McMaster is waffling just trying to sell a book.
I like the laughing, great spirit, thank you for your service! 💙
I hope Anthony, Liz, and Adam get a cabinet position in the Harris Administration.
Vote Harris / Walz 💙🇺🇸
Always great to listen
Selling a book. Politically amoral.
Exactly
“They say it’s Russia, I don’t know why it would be”. DJT

For a General to speak as a 30year old & have So much empathy & sympathy!! Good Get! ❤❤ USA 🇺🇸
Great Job Anthony. The general sounds like a Trumper. How can he not stand up for our country in this critical time.??
AGAIN!!! GREAT GUEST!! Thanks Antony!! ❤❤USA 🇺🇸
Anthony is always looking down when he talks to his guests.
Is it because his screen are at the desk? It looks a little wierd...
16:55 Linking Russia's invasion of Ukraine to the US Afghanistan's failure is the stupidest thing ever heard!
This General is a Trumper.
Maga McMaster.
Yep, Vote 1: Trump
Barf. Supporting his redemption tour. Too late HR.
🤮
I appreciate him being a “good soldier” and his assessment and his way of doing the best with what he has been given.

Now you’re giving Scaramucci an excuse for letting an American traitor get past him.
🌠Love🌠Anthony🌠Scaramouche🌠 Thank You
Is McMasters actually defending the betrayal of Ukraine?!?
Yes, he is and that’s why no one should buy his book. He’s a disgrace to our uniform service members.
Wow. What a smart guy. Thank you Anthony and General McMaster
HR is great ! worthwhile discussion. Thanks Anthony
Trump surrendered to the Taliban without any input from the standing government. So lets say Putin took his cue from there
McMaster is naive about whether Putin has anything on Trump and trump wanting to do something to help the country. The Muuch is right on about the money and power thing.
Stay out of politics keep to what you know General
"Disruptive, flawed, but not weak"! OMG. "but not weak"! With those attributes Trump is the last person that should be the POTUS.
wow this is insane
tanks HR. what a man. truth to power.
McMaster is just a self promoter.
McMaster, When he needed to speak up, he was silent until he was ready to sell a book. He lost me.

Fabulous, fascinating interview!! Thank you so much!! 🙏

Great interview- McMaster seems like a very fair and nice person..

Thank you great interview

Brilliant discussion guys!
McMaster is positioning to be taken back by Trump, possibly for the purpose of keeping Trump from doing more stupid things. It's disappointing, coming from a general.
It’s worse than disappointing. It’s unAmerican. He’s a disgrace just like his fuhrer.
Follow the money re the turd and Russia.
You know this
I VERY much agree with the potential for a center-right party to arise. I also think if it is center-ish enough, many center-left will feel right at home there. I say that as an INDEPENDENT.
Hey general I GET you are conservative I hope you’re in the Liz Chaney camp let’s get rid of Trump and help her rebuild the Republican Party 😊
Liz isn't running for president
Great interview 👍
I don't see Trump the same way as McMaster....of course we weren't on inside. I think 2nd administration would be worse than the 1st. Trump is so incoherent it's scary.
He is right we need to get beyond the divied let us know when the GOP becomes a real unbigoted party
Good interview -- but no mention of Trump's infamous tete-a-tete with Putin when he dismissed not only his aides but even the US interpreter. Significant, surely?
Would have loved a UFO question ✌🏼❤️
Whatever trump says, there is always the easily-observable-reality!🇺🇸💙🇺🇸💙🇺🇸💙🇺🇸💐
My ex-hubs graduated from West Point with Gen. McMaster. Said he was a really good guy all around.
It’s irritating to hear McMasters praise Trump.
I'm interested to know how regular American's will be able to "re-unite" with those supporters of Trump - now that they have been unveiled for what are and what they stand for?
Good content, Anthony, appreciate the effort.
One point to bring to your attention, it's not "the Ukraine", it's "Ukraine" without "the". You don't say "the France" or "the England", same with Ukraine
I’m a little disappointed in the gentleman. Is he looking for another job?
SMH!
Am I alone in thinking that H.R McMaster is more presidential than any of the politicians on offer today ?
I don’t want to even try to understand Trump.
Not a fan of McMaster or Flynn!
This guy saying 'hey' so much dwn grades his authority & apparent extensive knowledge in his area of expertise
6:50 “o god now we gotta do this”. Lol.
Anthony would be a profound president
This guy talks out of both sides of his mouth.
Too bad Gen McMaster cant be intellectually honest and cant reject pres Trump.
I’m afraid that the General’s criticisms of Trump sound too mild to stand out.
I think it would help if he extrapolated and discussed the specific possible consequences of Trump’s flaws if he re-enters office.
Your right Anthony, it’s the $$$$
