The Oak Ridge Boys actually reached out to them to see if they wanted to record one of their own songs with them on either Home Free's 1st or 2nd album!!!
Watching Home Free live was an experience of a lifetime! They all are so gifted and blessed! The freak of nature Adam Rupp is amazing and the Bass blowout,Tim Foust is earth shaking!!!!!
You cracked me up! lol!! Loved your reaction. The Oaks were the ones that approached the HF guys, and since then they have performed at the Grand Ol' Opry together several times,. HF was also invited on a few of the Oaks concerts to preform, also. Thay still stay in touch and have nothing but nice things to say about each other. Thank you, for another fantastic reaction!
My favourite genre of music is GOOD. Good is relative to each person and moment in time. Sometimes we just connect. Music is in the ears that hear, the heart, mind, and soul of those that feel. If a song and singer connect to you, which country music does a lot, it's good music. Great reaction as always.
I actually love the sound of an older person's voice. There is a depth to it that makes me want to know their stories. (That doesn't say it well, but I know what I mean).
I absolutely loved your reaction! I especially love how you reacted when Tim hit that low note and you paused it with that look! You had me cracking up laughing! These guys had me hooked during their first Sing Off performance!! I am a devout Home Fry! I love that you claim to be a Home Fry, too! The Oaks have stated that they feel that Home Free is very similar to them in that they’re a close knit group of guys, and their appeal to their fans. They also stated that they think Home Free will follow in their footsteps as far as longevity goes. I couldn’t agree more! Thank you for this reaction.
My mother used to play this song endlessly, and I never got sick of it! The bass singer for Home Free doesn't get quite as low as the bass singer for the Oak Ridge Boys though lol. Still a great rendition of a classic country song.
You're good brother. My favorite story to tell is when I was 5 or 6 we were riding somewhere, we being my mother, sister, one of two brothers, and myself. Listening to the tape with this song on it and I hit the low note and caused Mama to pull off the road to turn in her seat and stare at me.
While I too remember this song (from back when it came out), I've never been a fan of Country Music. BUT... I honestly don't care what Home Free sings, I'll listen to it! Their talent, both as a group and individually, is so immense it's just awesome. Another example, I hate most Xmas music, but their version of, Do You Hear What I Hear? is on my year-round playlist. The vocals are, of course, unreal, but the arrangement is so unique.
Totally agree except that I might say "believe" instead of "trust". I like what I like when I like it depending on mood, time of year, weather, whether or not I'm driving, degree of sobriety [NOT when I'm driving], etc. For example. I didn't appreciate this song because I was expecting a different "Elvira" Same applies to groups/artists. Some I like, but....., others I don't, except for ... , and some I actually hate, except for ....
I can find examples of *any* type of music that I like, but I can say (honestly and accurately) that there are genres of music I don't like. I don't like rap, but I also have "Funky Cold Medina" on my iTunes playlist (as in I bought it at the Apple music store). As for Home Free, Pentatonix, Voice Play, Voctave, they can take songs and genres that I don't like and make me like them, but it doesn't make me a fan of the genre.
You should see them live! You will FEEL (not just hear) those low notes from Tim. You will feel the vibrations in your body, the seat and floor! I've been to 5 Home Free concerts, best concert experiences ever (and I've seen top iconic rockers & bluesmen over the years)!
Another one who grew up on this song and other country artists in the ‘70s and ‘80s who had Top 40 hits alongside Michael Jackson and Culture Club. Speaking of, check out Home Free with Kenny Rogers singing “Children, Go Where I Send Thee”- my dad and I were jamming in the car to that one just three days ago. BTW, you have a beautiful smile! I love when you grin in delight over a performance.
I didn't like Country music until I saw Home Free videos, they spice it up with the beat and beatboxer and I love them! I haven't seen a bad video from them yet, and I've seen them all.
Austin has a real dynamic and clear voice and he can belt those high notes. Tim also can go so low that some notes are barely audible, but you can feel the sound waves will blow you away. in concert I've seen people's hair move like the wind was on it, I've felt my pants legs flapping, the floor shakes and seats too (aka bass in your butt).
You have made my day !!! You are a Home Fry, that is absolutely great. You have joined a great group of people who appreciate very good music !!!! Thank you for that wonderful reaction and I will be waiting for more Home Free !!
Thanks for reacting to this. Loved the original when it came out and love this version. It's so much fun! I also grew up on country music and like you said if they don't like those reactions don't watch them.
I just loved the look on your face & in your eyes when you were getting ready to rewind to hear Tim hit his low note. You were daring anyone to say anything, LOL. Like you said if they do not like country then skip the video. I am not a big country listener, but there are some performers I just can not help listening to. I grew up on Hee-Haw & The Grand Ole Opry, and to this day I really cannot listen to twangy country. Not real sure what my mental block is on that one. But between Home Free & Chris Stapleton I have started listening to country a bit more. Maybe because they are not what I would consider strictly country.
Love this collaboration of the 2 groups! Fun to see HF get schooled by the Oak Ridge boys! Since this HF have appeared with them several times. The ORBs have become mentors to HF! They’ve also worked with Kenny Rogers at his request on “Children Go Where I Send Thee”! Glad you’re open minded in music choices. If you’re not, you by pass lots of great music! Great Reaction!!
I love where you paused to let everyone know you grew up on country music. Having an appreciation for multiple styles of music is like having an appreciation for multiple genres of literature; it enriches your life. I love your reactions, sir. Keep up the good work!
Love the Oaks! LOVE THIS SONG! The Oaks love Home Free and have been on the Opry with them more than once. Also, should you ever be so inclined, the Oak Ridge Boys have a beautiful theater in Branson, MO. I love that smile, was waiting for it. 🥰😂🥰
I grew up with this song. The man who wrote this and recorded it first was my first experience with this one. 1966 Dallas came out with his version of this song and it was pretty good .
1:44 Great respect for Country music + great reaction! Glad your introduced to Home Free! I'm only 20 but I grew up with the oaks too! 3:00 time does well with the Bass singers bc they get lower but I can see what you mean & I can even tell with Rhichard's low voice. It sounds like SOMETIMES it's hard for him to get down there. Great reaction!
A couple other Home Free requests ... where you see a change - of sorts - are “May Day” Cam cover and “Auld Lang Syne” .. both these songs highlight Adam Chance and his bass ability, and Tim’s upper register!!! Love these reactions
I'm pretty sure they're contacts, as I think we've seen him with brown eyes. However, they *look* real, unlike some colored contacts (cough "Daft Punk" cough, although those are *supposed* to look fake). I had a Korean acquaintance (not close enough to call a friend, but I knew her) who had some absolutely stunning green contacts, and they looked absolutely real. It was striking, as she had classic and delicate Korean features, with green eyes under the epicanthic folds.
@@UserHorologium You're right... I noticed that right after I posted the comment... He should always wear em' .. He looks dreamy with blue eyes !! lol !! I cant help it !!
Been away a while but this has been one of your best Ive seen. I grew up with country , blues, classic rock, southern rock all the good stuff even early (best) rap. I think this is the first one I seen you have actual fun listening too. Big thumbs up.
Love this song, excellent cover by Home Free, a lot of credit to Jeff Castelucci (from Voiceplay) who arranged it. I don't really like Voice Play as a group, I really like Jeff Castelucci by himself. I am sure they are all very talented, however, Home Free and Pentatonix have raised the bar so high, it has become 'unfair' to other acapella groups
I just loved this song when it came out by the Oak Ridge Boys. When HF with the Oak Ridge came up with this version, I will admit that my favorite is still the original. I have no fault on this version. It's just that I find the original version more pleasing to my ears. That's all... By the way, I follow several reactors. When they react to genres I don't care for, I do Try to listen to it but... When they continue to react to these singers, I just bypass it until their next reactions.... Thanks for reacting to this song!
Always loved this song and I’ve seen the Oaks in concert several times. Home Free does a great job. If you’re going to check more by Voice Play they do a great cover of the 50’s tune Sh-Boom, I recommend trying that one.
LOVE your reactions on all of your Home Free videos that I have watched. Omg you are great and hilarious. You tell it how it is. Go get em and keep up the fantastic work.
That was a wonderful reaction...your face and eyes are so expressive. I loved it. And I love the respect and support that the Oaks have given to Home Free. So generous.
You AND the music made me smile! LOVE the Oakridge Boys. Saw them in Branson four years ago. Yes, the voices are not as they once were, but what a great and fun show. This is just a special bit of music from two of my favorite groups.

As a genre, Country isn't my favorite either. But you should look at the individual songs/performances. This has always been one of my favorite songs...and even better with both groups!
I enjoyed the hell out of this video! Thanks for bringing some joy into my life today! HF are some very talented young men... On that note, this is your channel, you play whatever touches your soul..
I know you did this awhile ago, but I just found Home Free and their version of Elvira, I've watched a lot of reactions to a lot of songs, but I loved yours so much I had to go back and watch it again. Keep it up, man.
Love that you do all sorts of music. Makes your videos much more interesting and informed. I also like to watch for the grin when I know Tim is about to create a seismic event.
I'm new to your channel, and I'm loving you! I love watching you rewind and re-listen to my favorite parts! You play what you like - don't let anyone tell you different.
CLASSIC! Love this rendition...grew up with this song / group too. Another terrific reaction video. That 'I'mma 'bout to rewind that sh#t' smile...LOL #LOVEIT - Thank you!

Binge watching your HF reactions again and have a few things to say. I love the way after Richard Sterben goes really low on that mawh mawh everyone turns and looks at Ti m as if to say "Go for it". Second I have to laugh at people who say things like "I don't like country music." Then turn around and say "I could listen to Alabama or Reba all day long" Well guess what YOU LIKE COUNTRY MUSIC! And third YOU HAVE THE BEST SMILE!!! It's contagious! It's a smile that makes you smile just because.
Everybody in this vid--including you--look like they're just in hog heaven! 😄 I was raised on old-school Country, too...Love pretty much every genre, but Country touches my heart like no other. Wish my folks were still around to hear this, they'd be Home Fries just like their daughter!

Can we just talk about how Adam KILLED it with the beatboxing?!
Each one of these men are so talented. Amazing vocal's and vocal ranges. But I have to say Adam Rupp was KILLIN" IT!! He is unmatched.
