What I like about the acapella groups is that they're not actually "competing" with each other. They are totally supportive of each other, for every one of them has their own uniqueness.
@@PanduPoluan Exactly! The groups all have their own sound! The only time there seem to be squabbles is amongst a few fans from time to time. But you never hear it from the groups themselves.
This is like old school country, taking the younger generation to school. You can see just how much they all admire each other. Love it, and your reaction. Thank you!
The Oak Ridge Boys are a legendary gospel/country quartet that are in the Country/Western Hall of Fame. I am sure all the guys in Home Free considered it a great honor to sing with them. The Oak Ridge Boys saw Home performing on the Accapella TV show "The Sing-Off" and were so impressed that they immediately contacted Home Free Management to set up a collaboration ... which you just witnessed ;-)
It is fun to see the HF boys singing along with their Oaks counterparts as they are all masters with the harmonies. Great reaction, as usual. btw, I think it's okay to share 'gentle'😉critiques when you have them.
Here a year later.....the Oak Ridge Boys are all still alive & did The Warmest Winter...Christmas Special (they were on it !!!) ...us HOME FRIES paid for it to be produced!!!!! It was AWESOME !!! It was worth it !!!!!
Apparently, The Oak Ridge Boys have been something of a mentor to Home Free. They have also collaborated with Kenny Rogers on one of his Christmas albums, but it's not strictly a Christmas song. It's called Children, Go Where I Send Thee and Kenny talks at the end about how he met Home Free.
Here's one for your Christmas reactions: Kenny Rogers and HomeFree " Children Go Where I Send Thee " I think you'll enjoy it. This is the song that got me introduced to HomeFree !!
This one is fun, and when they all get together they still sing this!. So suggestions: Road Trip - VoicePlay Live, Halloween-ish: Zombies vs. Hillbillies - Survivor (VoicePlay vs. Home Free), "What's This?" | The Nightmare Before Christmas | VoicePlay feat. J. None, Grim Grinning Ghosts - VoicePlay A Cappella, This Is Halloween | The Nightmare Before Christmas | VoicePlay A Cappella, Christmas: Wookiee For Christmas - Star Wars VoicePlay Cover, Do You Hear What I Hear? (Home Free) (Christmas A Cappella), Home Free - Full of Cheer, White Christmas - Home Free, Grandma Got Runover By A Reindeer - Home Free, I'll Be Home For Christmas - Home Free.... And Straight No Chaser - The Christmas Can-Can (Single Edit) !!! A whole list! Thank you! ^_^
Isn't it amazing how they took an already iconic song (I've listened to it since it 1st came out) and spruce it up, sprinkle a little extra spice on it, and then turn all these awesome guys loose on it. I would have never thought it could be better than the original.
Richard Sturban Bass from the oak ridge boys is great the battle between him and Tim is awesome. Tim has said multiple times that he never thought he'd get to do something like that
Hey I loved your reaction!!! This is one of my all time favorite songs!!! Your expressions are priceless! You're welcome again for the headphones. Now I have to work on getting you something for your birthday. :) Can't wait to see your next reaction!!! Sayonara my Sister Home Fry!!
Thanks so much for doing these reactions.. .especially to Home Free.. .they are so easy to become addicted to, imo.. This is an older video with Chris Rupp still in it.. I loved Chris too, but just adore Chance (Chris's replacement) Check out any Home Free vid for great sounds and harmonies. I am especially fond of "Mayday "and "I Cant Outrun you"... but have tissues nearby. Voice Play.:. if you like Prince.. check out their cover of "Kiss"" and " Its Not Me" with John Pinto Jr.." and my fave a mashup - "No Diggety and Shape of You" with Matthew Darren and Voice Play.. Thanks, again! Oy.. sorry thats a long list.. but Im patient . Im a grandma. hahaha
I hope that you'll do a reaction to the Filharmonics video with Home Free on the Sing Off show. Look at the mrduckbear11's video of "I'm Alright". It's my favorite performance of all of the Sing Off seasons.
If you have heard this song, you know of Oak Ridge Boys (at least by reputation) since this was originally their song. They are actually one of the groups that HF wants to be included along with, since they were also very harmony based country. Oak Ridge has appeared alongside HF/had HF open for them a few times and have kind of taken them under their wing. From what I’ve heard, whenever they perform together, this song is one of the songs they do. You missed a VoicePlay nod at the end of this video as the arrangement for this was actually done by Geoff (bass man for VP).
I noticed a few comments about Voiceplay’s Nightmare Before Christmas stuff. You should definitely listen to all of that soon, plus Making Christmas by Pentatonix (it’s also from The Nightmare Before Christmas, therefore a Halloween song!). Also, acapella Christmas music is COMPLETELY different from normal Christmas music. Any time of the year is amazing for acapella Christmas music and it never gets old. You’ll see what us acapella fans mean when you eventually listen to it! 🎶🎵🎶🎵 🎧🎧🎧🎧
Of all the reactions to this song I've seen, I enjoyed yours the most. You get so excited, have so much fun, and that's what I watch these kinds of videos for. Reminds me of my own reaction when I saw this the first time, and how happy it made me. And I agree, the first time you watch something, you should just enjoy it. Then you can start with the analyzing after you watch it, or when you watch it again. All that analyzing gets in the way of a clean first experience if you try to do it at the same time as you're watching it that first time.
Love the reaction and the headphones (I have the same ones in pink and black). When I was growing up in the 70s and 80s, the Oak Ridge Boys were my absolute favorite group. The first concert I ever went to was the Oak Ridge Boys. Keep up the great reactions! 😁
Home Free did a video with Voiceplay I think, not sure, called Survivor, it was like a zombie vs. Hillbilly thing and totally funny, Tim was hilarious.......loved your reaction to this. Loved this song since I was really little, because of the bass. Now even more because of Tim of course, with his bass added in.
i love christmas music, but having worked retail for most of my life, the fact that it starts playing in stores in october now, makes me not want to hear any of it by december. this was such a fun mashup, they looked like they were having a blast
Ashley, one of the best Xmas song I have heard ws PTX version of O come all ye faithful which was infuenced by Kevin Orusola's Nigerian culture making it a high life (Nigerian popular music) song
hey dear new here if you like home free you should do a reaction to their renditions of in the blood and the eagles seven bridges road love the channel you rock
I don't know if you caught the end of the video, but Tim thanks Geoff from Voiceplay for the arrangement. When Voiceplay sings this they 'play' with contrast of Geoffs lows & Eearls highs. Here's a funny video from a recent live performance that's worth a watch: ruclips.net/video/sYlzZUwpd-0/видео.html
When you get to Voctave, you MUST do "Mary Did You Know" with Mark Lowry, who was one of the songwriters. This is a fun video, love how supportive the Oaks have been to HF over the years.
If you want some awesome Halloween music and don't know who Nightwish is. Please do Storytime Live Wacken 2013 , their version of Phantom of The Opera End of an Era and Scaretale ruclips.net/video/5EmpS8E7d30/видео.html That is unfortunately one of the few we have of Anette doing well live. She's more of a studio singer, plus there was tons of drama with her following Tarja.( the lady on phantom ) You probably won't get many, if any, requests for her. I just wanted to link that, cause she sounds like a witch on that one and Marco does villain better than almost anyone I've ever seen. Except for a couple songs that were sampled , the band is usually free from copyright problems. Fair warning: Nightwish fans are hardcore, but 99.9 % are nice.
Fun fact, Geoff Castellucci from VoicePlay helped them to arrange the song

Peter Hollens and Tim Foust of (Home Free) Misty Mountains, Sound of Silence, Bridge Over Trouble Water and Greensleeve
A resounding Yes
The Oaks (as they’re fondly called) love Austin...particularly Joe Bonsall..their tenor...they’re Great friends...All!!! What a great combo!!! 🙃‼️🙃
I can’t decide who is more genetically gifted, the basses or lead tenors!😱
(Late reply) 5 octave freaks of nature like Tim Foust and Geoff Castellucci

Lead singer dude from the Oakridge Boys has that Tom Jones BELT going on.
I love watching someone who really enjoys music as much as you seem to.
It is fun to see the HF boys singing along with their Oaks counterparts as they are all masters with the harmonies. Great reaction, as usual. btw, I think it's okay to share 'gentle'😉critiques when you have them.
When you DO start with the Christmas songs, please do Home Free's version of "Grandma got run over by a reindeer"
Adam's beat boxing is so awesome in this video.
Here a year later.....the Oak Ridge Boys are all still alive & did The Warmest Winter...Christmas Special (they were on it !!!) ...us HOME FRIES paid for it to be produced!!!!! It was AWESOME !!! It was worth it !!!!!

Home Free has many Christmas songs, When you do them you should see "Do You Hear What I Hear? " First! Oh! and O'Holy Night definitely!
The bass for Oak Ridge sang backup for Elvis!
Here's one for your Christmas reactions: Kenny Rogers and HomeFree " Children Go Where I Send Thee " I think you'll enjoy it. This is the song that got me introduced to HomeFree !!
Around New Year’s, id like to see you do Auld Lang Syne by Home Free. If I don’t leave it now I’ll never think of it again. Thanks

Oak Ridge Boys are like Country Royalty Legends
When you hit the thumbs up button before you even hear the song. Boooooom.

If you want to react to Halloween songs I would recommend "grim grinning ghosts" and "this is Halloween" by voiceplay
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
I had the same idea!! It will blow your mind and tickle your funny bone too!!!

Not sure if you've seen it, but there's a live version of Voiceplay doing Elvira that's worth a watch.
Loved it........ what's not to love about it? :) It's the Oak Ridge Boys and Home Free.
Right? I was giving someone a few years older than I a lift when this track came on. He listened for a minute or two, then said, "They funked it up!"
Just an FYI....The Oakridge Boys are the originator of this popular song ….
Home Free did a video with Voiceplay I think, not sure, called Survivor, it was like a zombie vs. Hillbilly thing and totally funny, Tim was hilarious.......loved your reaction to this. Thats the Video that made me a fan of home free, your awesome!!!!
i LOVE THE SONG ELVIRA, I LOVE THE OAKRIDGE BOYS AND I LOVE HOME FRE@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chris Rupp said they also had wives and girlfriends plus stage crew join in on Elvira to make it sound even bigger
Home Free has a new song coming out in a couple of hours called "What's the World coming to"...
i love christmas music, but having worked retail for most of my life, the fact that it starts playing in stores in october now, makes me not want to hear any of it by december. this was such a fun mashup, they looked like they were having a blast

Looked through a few videos... have I missed the "How Great Thou Art" reaction or has she seen it?
Did you know the young guy in red and grey does the drum solos with his mouth. Cool huh?
A favorite of HF's is this with ORB
hey dear new here if you like home free you should do a reaction to their renditions of in the blood and the eagles seven bridges road love the channel you rock
When you get around to Christmas music, keep "What Child is This" by Street Corner Symphony in mind.
You should react to more Voiceplay especially their stuff from nightmare before xmas since halloween is gonna be coming in a couple months!!

You can review anything that pleases you, but you're gonna kick yourself and ask, "Why did I wait to listen to Do You Hear What I Hear!?!?!??
If you want Halloween songs, react to Voiceplay's This is Halloween
React to the Hu Band from Mongolia. Yuve yuve yu and Wolf Totem
You might enjoy listening to 'Looking Forward, Looking Back' by an Australian singer of some skill: Slim Dusty
Omg.
A 22nd b-day ..... good on ya 22nd of Sept (Granted, way WAY older, 1972). here ..... ^5.
Your cat or whatever nearly gave me a heart attack at 2:50
Do Pentatonix 'The Sound of silence' It's the best version ever!
Please react to VOICEPLAY MOANA or MISSION JINGLE BELL :) I know you will like it :)
Jesus Miranda For Jingle Bell are you looking at Mission:Jingle Bells or the Bollywood one?
Lol we have the same birthday November 22nd of course my year is way before yours lol.
You should do Pentatonix The Nightmare before Christmas
"Sometimes I listen to myself and I hear the Canadian come out." As a man living near Toronto, what is wrong with speaking like a Canadian?
I'm married to a Canadian ... I understand everything you say, eh.
When you get to Voctave, you MUST do "Mary Did You Know" with Mark Lowry, who was one of the songwriters. This is a fun video, love how supportive the Oaks have been to HF over the years.
Old and new can work together very well. Thanks
Please react to BEATNESS Nightcall is a beatboxer you need to watch that
