And I thought the Sonic movie was bad.
the biggest difficulty about recording this 3 years ago was how we were dubbing this into english and had to match “mouth flaps” that already existed. and we pretty much recorded line-by-line without context for the scenes or story arc, etc. there was also a focus on keeping the voice acting silly and childish for some reason.
I appreciate the explanation. For the record, you got better with your recording as the movie went on. While I was editing, I was wondering how much of this was due to dubbing and maybe direction. I hope I don't come across as a jerk in the vid. It was rough but but you also have potential with voice acting

This was cool. I was curious about your involvement with the movie as I’ve never heard of this or your roles in voice acting. Honestly, I found it funny how you stretched it with the voice. It wasn’t too bad as it did feel a bit distinct from your own, being a bit more “silly and childish” as you put it, but it obviously needs some work. Still though, I wouldn’t mind seeing how you’d fare in voice acting with a bit more liberty to do so with.
Anyway, this was a weird one.

I always felt like it’d be really cool to see Anthony (and a lot of other classic content creators) get a real chance in voice acting or just any major film or project really. I’ve noticed cameos in mainstream blockbusters once in a while but they all feel kinda goofy and cheap and sometimes even kinda pandering.
There’s a whole generation of us that saw smosh and plenty of other RUclipsrs as on par with “real” celebrities growing up. Given the right context and good reviews, seeing “Anthony Padilla” on a movie poster would be a definite eye catcher for me and probably plenty of others. Guess that’s up to the studios though.

Not gonna lie, the first film sucked and it's only redeeming factors were Jim Carrey and the fact that it has the honor of being the best CGI animal / human buddy movie.
The sequel however, was actually pretty good and made better use of the Sonic IP.
Its funny to think that 3 years later, not only do we have 2 great Sonic movies but even Ugly Sonic got to be a hero that people love.

Just to comment on the flaccid spikes thing: yea, hedgehogs do that. They lay their spines flat when relaxed and prickle up when stressed (you can pet a hedgehog like a cat if you earn its trust). So walking into the warren with spikes up could be seen like walking into Walmart with one hand on a gun holster.
It's really funny, this video made me realize how horrible my household was because your comment about Rose's dad. Realized "wait, my dad forced me to get two tracking apps and cameras all over the house... is that weird?" Thanks Saber even if it wasn't at all intentional on your part lol

honestly this animation actually looks kind of good, and the voices sound kind of good. Then again, I've been binge watching your videos recently, so maybe it's only because it just happens to seem halfway competent when compared directly to stuff like What's Up and Trolland.
I think it's easy to have high expectations if the only point of reference is a studio with the resources and fame to push animation forward with each movie. I was thinking "This movie looks like it was from 2006-2009, generously" but then I remembered it wouldn't be a fair comparison.
And yeah it's miles ahead of some of those other bad films haha.

Apparently the badger's name is Maddox, and Todd Haberkorn was the guy announcing all the stuff at the end (he acted in Sailor Moon, Fairy Tail, Soul Eater, FullMetal Alchemist, and many other well-known anime (in the English dubs)).
Also love that the love interest is supposed to resemble Amy, but Tails is nowhere to be seen. (Maybe the big buff dude voiced by Dio was knock-off Knuckles?)
To top it all off, the Money-Money Iron Man villain looks like the imperial red guards from Star Wars.
