Poor Bert and he still films for us. Bless him. I’m just going to go ahead and admit that I’m not tough enough for that kind of life. It was 72 here today and I still feel like it’s cold.
I know... I thought the same thing. I had to break down and buy a carhartt jacket and a couple sweatshirts to wear at work with my preschoolers because 57°-67° was unbearable in the mornings. 😅
The girls singing at the end was absolutely precious. I love that you adapted and over came your challenges. You celebrated Jesus and his wonderful sacrifice for us.
Thank God you had the vision to install a fireplace in your house. Thank God you have knowledge of electricity from your work. In the future you might try to install a restaurant wood stove and oven in your kitchen. You could build an auxilary wood fired kitchen out side your house like Bert's outside office building. The outside kitchen could be built with brick walls and light weight steel roof truses. This would preclude fire danger. God bless your whole family always. We are all children of God.
We were given 2 truck loads of wood. I told my husband we must be going to get a cold front since God was blessing us. Our heater doesnt work. Little did we know it would be the worst cold storm in east texas history. Thank you Lord. Love hearing the girls sing.

I'm from Eastern NC. We had a snow/ice storm in the early 2000's during the Christmas holiday. My mama used a gas grill and a single burner propane gas stove to cook the entire meal when we lost power.
That was caused by an epic failure in leadership in Texas. Federal regulators warned Texas that its power plants couldn’t be counted on to reliably churn out electricity in bitterly cold conditions a decade ago, when the last deep freeze plunged 4 million people into the dark. They recommended that utilities use more insulation, heat pipes and take other steps to winterize plants -- strategies commonly observed in cooler climates but not in Texas. So they didn't do what they were told and it was at the peoples' expense. Sorry man.

Not seventy years, I grew up in Alaska and have seen whole neighborhoods disappear under the snow. We would have to tunnel out of our front doors. No power and everything you own buried. The blizzards would last days. We survived in the kitchen with our gas oven. Seen whole houses collapse within a couple days from the snow. And from December thru February it stayed below 20, minus the wind chill. My family still lives there and says it’s nothing like it used to be. Thank goodness.
Exactly!!! I have lived here in Alaska my entire 41 yr's of life and we have gotten waaayyyy more snow than this dumped at once along with super bad winds. I love that you both are always smiling and grateful for everything. Thats the most snow I've ever seen and there's Bert out there working like mad and smiling. Amazing family. God Bless.
Huge snowstorm, power is out, Ranger and truck get stuck. Bert is out shoveling in a tank top, people aren't clogging up the gas station getting gas in every can they have. People still come out for family dinner. Alaskans are awesome. Bert, your two power panels were something to behold. Jessica, your man is awesome.
Awe the girls were so cute. Sorry that you had a rough time Bert but things will be okay. Things we take for granted was hard to come by or didn't exit years ago. Thank you for still recording for us through it all. You are a real trooper. God bless you all.
Haven't been in a storm like that in over 10yrs. Thank goodness we too have a fireplace and camping equipment. Hopefully the storm will be over soon. Take care and be safe ❤
Weird; we are close to you, an we had a bit of snow, but that was it. Made for an interesting Sunrise Service on the bluff overlooking where the Klondike meets the Yukon rivers. Not much sun! A great service in the snow though, with all the churches of Dawson getting together.
Good lesson for so many.... no matter what life throws at us we get to choose how we react. I love how your family proudly serves the lord. May God continue to bless y’all. Seeing the girls sing was precious.

Your family had a fun (challenging) day, especially Bert out in the snow. So glad the generator helped with cooking the Easter meal so you could spend time with family. Thank you for sharing your day. I am so grateful for our Saviour, Jesus Christ. For his example and everything he has done for each of us ❤️
Was that Audrey & Evenlyn when they were younger singing in church? Bless Bert’s heart. He was all over the place. Your Easter dinner looked good. Love y’all
Those portable generators are real lifesavers. Back in 89' it was in excess of -90 below zero. I hope things don't get anywhere near as bad as that year. Hope the day worked out for the best.
1969, I was 4 years old; Western PA got over a foot of snow Easter morning. Dad put the chains on the tires and we make it to the church building, only to be surprised that the service was cancelled. Your video brought back 2 minutes worth of memories; it would have been more but I was very little. We LOVE your sharing live with us. Can I find out the music titles of the song about the future is bright and I'm going to make you breakfast ?
I hope things are getting better for you all with the unpredictable weather, thank you for sharing the little treasure at the end of the video with the babies singing oh my goodness they've grown so fast
Glad everyone is OK. Thank you for this video. I loved seeing all the snow and goings on to deal with a storm. Loved the song at the end as well. Beautiful girls 🥰

Wind - we had 87 mph wind gusts for 5 straight days here. That is where you are thankful for a metal roof (snow slides). It was wild because the wind was coming from all sides and you watched the trees twist - and trees do not twist well. Glad to see that you were able to get all done and your family dinner was successful.

I'm from the deep south of Louisiana and Mississippi and I tell you what Just seeing how that snow makes me Makes my heart palpitate I always say the Lord made me a southern woman because he knew he didn't make me to do cold and snow But it is beautiful
Got to love winter to live in interior Alaska. The National Weather Service recently released these stats: The Winter of 2020-21 had a total snowfall of 91.3 inches, which was the highest winter snowfall since 1992-93. We had the snowiest February to April period on record, 54 inches and far above the normal of 16 inches. The snow on the ground in Fairbanks reached its greatest depth at 40 inches on April 4, which was the deepest snow depth in Fairbanks since 1993.
When the gas station is still open, it's still not bad out. Went to the Valero @ mile 49 on the Parks near my home in Rainbow Lakes and the crew was into a third shift and couldn't leave as nobody showed up, many years ago.
Happy Easter to the Somers family. He is risen! I loved the girls singing at the end. So glad y'all safe with so much snow. My Aussie mind can't even comprehend snow like that. In Australia Easter is a 4 day long weekend and usually it coincides with school holidays so many families go on holidays. Camping at Easter time is a favourite activity as its Autumn and we like to take the last warm days to camp before our version of winter.
The girls singing praise to The Savior 🙌! So uplifting, my oldest brother passed away on March 18th, he loved the Savior and Heavenly Father so much. Knowing he's celebrating Easter in Heaven this year is a blessing and he's no longer hurting. My niece had us over for dinner on Easter. My brother passed their at the house so we could really feel him there. He loved Celebrating Holy holidays with his children, and grandchildren, all the family. Hearing your girls singing warmed my broken heart! God Bless!
I truly feel your loss in that my beloved son died two years ago at 33 right before Easter. His birthday was March 18 and he would’ve just turned 35. He died on March 27. His brothers miss him terribly, but I do believe siblings are overlooked in their grief.
I posted a suggestion to get a roof rake. I live in Nebraska and have had to use a roof rake for several snow storms. I like a roof rake because you can stand on a ladder at the side of the house then with at least a 20 foot extention on the roof rake you can pull snow from a 20 foot semicircle and off the roof. Move the ladder, and you can extend the cleared area. For your roofs in the middle of the house, you could pull snow off the ends. In the UP of Michigan, roof rakes are essential to deal with the 150 inch average snowfall. Even if you can only get about half of the snow off the roof it will significantly reduce the snowload.
Happy Wednesday, Somers. I hope you have a safe day. As a former Fairbanks Alaska resident, I dealt with bad snowstorms in Alaska over the years for two and a half decades. Much prayers, love and support to you Somers. My advice to you, stay safe and warm during these bad winter advisories.💕🙏🏾💕🙏🏾💕🙏🏾💕💕💕🙏🏾💕💕💕💕🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 I hope you Somers stay safe while you’re still together. Continue on your road on getting that Giant Gold Play Button.

The ending...in church...all the music...perfection! Feel blessed to have watched that.
Awe the girls were so cute. Sorry that you had a rough time Bert but things will be okay. Things we take for granted was hard to come by or didn't exit years ago. Thank you for still recording for us through it all. You are a real trooper. God bless you all.
Oh my....the girls singing...so beautiful!!! TYFS 👍👍👍😚🐕🐶🐾😁🇺🇸
Thank you for sharing the truth of the Gospel for all to hear! Absolutely beautiful song had me tears!
How stinking adorable was them singing at the end ....it melted my heart 💜
Good lesson for so many.... no matter what life throws at us we get to choose how we react. I love how your family proudly serves the lord. May God continue to bless y’all. Seeing the girls sing was precious.
Hearing those precious voices makes my whole day! A belated Happy Easter and may the Lord keep you safe amidst the storm!
I'm sorry for the snow, but happy the lights came on and you persevered. You celebrated Easter, the best day of the Church year.
Thank you for always putting out such uplifting & encouraging content, even when things aren't going too good. My husband has some very serious health issues, & you guys help me see & feel that life can be better with love & God at the center of it. Thank you for being such an inspiration to me, & I'm sure to others as well.
Love y’all
yes, that was the girls singing in church when they were younger
Those portable generators are real lifesavers. Back in 89' it was in excess of -90 below zero. I hope things don't get anywhere near as bad as that year. Hope the day worked out for the best.
Hello
@@irenedavo3768 Hello Irene. Hope all is well with you.
The best part was hearing the girls sing!
I am EXHAUSTED! Stay safe and warm, praying spring shows up soon!🙏🌞🌴😎🤸♀️🤗✌
Awwww was a treasure to see the girls singing as small kids!!
So happy everything worked out for your family this Easter...and the girls singing was absolutely Adorable!!!😊❤
Thank you for sharing. So very precious the girls singing, while you played the guitar. I loved it!
Yall make me smile! I am so grateful to have found the Somers family, love yall like crazy!
I hope things are getting better for you all with the unpredictable weather, thank you for sharing the little treasure at the end of the video with the babies singing oh my goodness they've grown so fast
Thank god you haven’t lost your sense of humour Bert when the vehicles got stuck! 😄😎 your unflappable! 👍
Glad everyone is OK. Thank you for this video. I loved seeing all the snow and goings on to deal with a storm. Loved the song at the end as well. Beautiful girls 🥰
You guys are precious! I love how you are all so cheery in the videos even when things aren't perfect. :)
If we never had hard times we wouldn't appreciate the good times as much. Something I truly believe. We'll figure it out and get through it, then we'll really see all our blessings in this beautiful life!! Happy Easter!
Crazy it's been warm enough that the white bass spawn was full effect on March 1st and went non-stop until the last weekend of march and now I'm catching crappie and the spawn for them has just kicked off in the last week or so! Water is around mid 60's!
Wouldn't be surprised if we see kid's wake boarding and tubing this weekend, seeing how it's going to be mid 80's and Sunny ☀️😎 and hot all weekend! Hopefully you guy's doing some travel and go visit somewhere warm and beautiful! You guy's deserve it 🎣🎣🎣🎣🚵🏄🚣🌼🌻🌺🌾🍁☘️🍀🌵🌴🏞️🌊🏜️🏖️⛱️🌄🌅🦩🦅🦩🦚🦃🦆🐬🦞🦀🧭⚓🚝🚂🛳️✈️🛫💒🏕️🏘️⛺🌅🌄🏖️⛱️🏝️🗺️🛣️🛤️🎣🤿🎳
You guy's need a break from the weather!
It’s so awesome to see the weather in Alaska !
Wow, it is beautiful there. We got snow last month with that cold front that hit all the midwest. We did alright here in Wichita Kansas. Missouri got hit really bad. I'm glad you had a wonderful Easter. I loved seeing the girls singing. They were so little. Love you all and hoping you stay warm.
Awesome family comes together when times are tuff...he is risen 🙏❣🥚🐣🐇
It was 81 degrees today when I was out mowing lawn. Had to turn AC on here in Kentucky. Wild the difference in weather
Worst storm in 70 years, we are getting things stuck and have no power but hey the family is coming over since it's Easter! I LOVE IT!
No matter what challenges you faced. You exuded positive energy and attitude. Sharing this alone can help many, by using you both as an example. Kudos 👍👍👊👊👊👊😁❤
But....live in the ghetto and see if the same attitude. Being rich sure does help at inconvenient times...
Should I feel guilty because I have had my AC on for the past 2 weeks??? Hmmmmmm! Nope! But it sure is pretty there with all that snow. Just remember, those bumps in the road is what makes you appreciate whatever you get. All problems are just temporary. Loved the girls singing at the end, so very precious. God Bless You All!
Oh my gosh, the video of the girls singing in church ❤️❤️ SO STINKING CUTE
Have lived in Texas for 3 years now & as soon as it hits 70 or above I begin melting 🥵💦 I guess the 8 years I lived in Eagle River, Alaska prior to moving here to Texas caused me to be a wimp with the heat even now. I know it sucks for you guys but I'm honestly jealous of all of your snow.
Happy Easter as a Jew this last day off Passover! Have a great day.
To look out the window an see the beautiful snow falling amongst the trees.beautiful.we didn't get that this year.1 st time I can remember in 57 yrs.
Oh dear! My my my😬⛄️🌨Good news, 70’ s here, bad news, another holiday, just us. We are struggling....especially with our faith. I love and believe in our Lord but am struggling. We can really use prayers. 💔💔Thanks for your videos.....so appreciated .
The National Weather Service recently released these stats:
The Winter of 2020-21 had a total snowfall of 91.3 inches, which was the highest winter snowfall since 1992-93.
He is risen, indeed!
The girls were so cute singing! 🤗♥️
Happy Easter! And God bless us all! I love you Jesus! ✞
Something to add to your preps...GASOLINE! You should not have had to run into town! Keep 25-30 gallons, and rotate the stock.
Wow...you certainly adapted to the situation well! Stay safe, stay warm Happy Somers!
The girls singing at the end was just adorable.
Lucky you have all the gears and somewhere to store it. You guys are so prepared for this and Bert is so onto it. Id be hopeless living there. We hardly get frosts where I live. Look at you Bert with no hat n gloves. Omgosh and then did I just see him wearing a singlet!!!
It was about 80 degrees here today....but April 1st we had snow and gone in a day. Lovely to hear the girls singing
Thank god Burt knows what he is doing. It’s crazy weather. We have had a cold artic wind from the north, so it cold here in the U.K. and some snow flurries. But nothing on your scale..stay safe and warm.. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️
Even though you got a snow storm i still love the snow fall. But the best was the girls singing.💗💗💗💗💗💗.
I love seeing the big family vlogs again. Things are starting to go back to normal and we can gather!!! Thanks for sharing your Easter. You certainly didn’t need to do that considering how crazy it was. ❤️
PRAYERS 🙏 and BLESSINGS ✝️ Wow look how they’ve grown in 6️⃣ years❗️
Easter Sunday was awesome.
Came home and about 1100pm Mst our condo building caught fire. Thank God it was under control and it didn't make it our side. We still had Easter dinner on Monday. PTL🙏
