I've done an Iron Golem cosplay a few times myself, with some artistic liberties. I don't go as far as to say I can't directly fight enemies in certain areas, or that I cannot join covenants. Like, to be fair, I would think that the Iron Golem could definitely be _in_ a Covenant, but that you absolutely do have a point about it lacking the sentience to properly _join_ a Covenant. Still, if the Iron Golem could join a covenant, I would guess it to be a "Princess Guard" or "Darkmoon Blade" since it directly serves Anor Londo - although I can say from experience that it is more fun to cosplay an Iron Golem in the Forest Hunters or Gravelord Servant covenant, though. On another note, for a more lax ruleset, one could roleplay as if "an" Iron Golem was 'programmed' to attempt fulfilling the Undead Prophecy. Like a walking soul vessel, to attempt buying more time for a proper Chosen Undead. Thus, it would be willing to fight already hostile denizens of Anor Londo as a measure of testing its capabilities - but it's still ultimately allied with Anor Londo, and thus wouldn't attack nonhostiles. It may even still exterminate other would-be Chosen Undead, under the logic that the targeted Undead isn't worthy if they were successfully defeated. Another stretch of the cosplay, is that I personally like getting Iron Flesh and/or Power Within as an option too. My headcanon is that the Iron Golem is using its soul/core to manifest defense (because the core was crafted from an Everlasting Dragon's bone) or offense (as if the core is being clocked into overdrive at the cost of structural integrity). That's basically the only addition I sometimes make. I once had an overloaded Iron Golem luring invaders in Undead Parish (used the gate skip glitch) at a low level. That was kinda fun - really tanky, but lack of mobility gives them a fair chance. Although, when I tried out gravelording too, I found that I just had to forgo being overloaded, because taking on two Black Knight Halberds at a time ain't ending well if ya can't dodge or block.
When I tried Iron Golem cosplays myself, I would always kill Smough first. I've always been confused about why the community believes Super Smough is easier - I've always found him harder because of the range (and damage) on his lightning slam. It's difficult to explain instead of demonstrate, but most of Super Ornstein's can be easily dodged by just staying between his feet. There are some exceptions to that dodge rule, such as with Super Ornstein's slam (which again, is smaller than S. Smough's slam) or the backstep grab (which can be dodged by rolling forward at the right time). All the same, however, it's fairly simple once one realizes that all of his attacks just revolve around paying attention to his feet and the tip of his spear.
I would absolutely love if you did a Pokémon challenge run. If you could do one in Gen V or VI that would be the coolest since I grew up with those generations.
@@MisterGoose I’d definitely like to do the later gens, but I was thinking of working my way up to them. Still though, definitely doing both Gen V and VI
I don't really know how to explain this one but pokehex doesn't work on hackroms cause it doesn't have the edited data they have, that being said, the possible way of getting leafeon in a hackrom with an expanded pokedex is using cheats, the cheat is the same one you would use on base game but you gotta get what number is assigned to the leafeon (the last 4 numbers of the cheat code in squirrel fire red). You can get a tedious estimate by checking it's number in the dex and converting it to octo I think and then looking at what pokemon you get, usually just adding their difference in the national dex to the number used in the cheat works... This probably doesn't make much sense but it's something I found out messing around with cheats in a hackrom called aquamarine
@@marcalcantara1174 hey, congratulations, you just became one of my favorite people lmao. I was getting the base stat error from PokeHex, so I gleaned what you said about it not working on an expanded dex, which was the problem for most rom hacks I tried naturally, but using the encounter modifier cheat with the code from the expanded dex is a great idea!!!
The Capra Demon going well isn't terribly surprising due to 2 factors: 1) Dark Souls 1's NG+ system works by multiplying their existing stats, and while earlygame enemies are buffed by a much larger percentage, the overall low stats of the game prior to The Depths(The Depths being the point where stats really start to increase due to The Large Ember being there) results in the first few bosses feeling incredibly weak in NG+. 2) Capra Demon mainly relies on the relative frailty of first time player characters to establish its reputation... a suit of basically any heavy armor that's been upgraded a few times basically trivializes the fight. The Golem Armor, being Boss Armor is already maxed out when you get it, so the combination of high defense and high poise really mess with his whole flow.
You could've unbound dodge roll on PC through the system menu or, if it doesn't let you, by removing the button from the Steam input menu. The second thing would make menu-ing really awkward tho.
@@Umbra_Ursus I mean, in a sense, but it’s my understanding (and I may certainly be wrong here) that, if Gwyndolin were somehow designated as “unworthy of Anor Londo” for whatever reason, the Iron Golem would attack him.
