    The recent minibook x sold in China had switched wifi module to AX201 with 2x2 wifi6 support. The screen is really good, not bad speakers, but still with random quality control.

You have 400k+ subscribers so I'm pretty sure you won't lose any money for any item you review and besides you can always include your Techtablets branded memorabilia to make your viewers buy from you and not where you bought it from. Literally just received my Minibook X today, came with win11 pre-installed, and actually has a Wifi 6 adapter now! "Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201" is what I see in my device manager. Bluetooth also seems to be upgraded to 5.2 (I see LMP 11 in my Bluetooth adapter firmware details). Seems like Chuwi is silently giving little upgrades.

      @@DSS553 that's too much power consumption for that form factor, even the 13" HP Probook 435 has a hard time with the 8-core Ryzens' cooling, even if it's much lower than the Intel competition. You can see in the Steam Deck what the limit of power dissipation is in these super small devices.

  • @rcpoisond

    That price for a laptop with a Celeron N5100 is just too much :/ You can get a convertible with a Ryzen 5500U at that price point.

    • @pxKappa
      @pxKappa 2 года назад +2

      you'll get a crap tier "150nits" screen for that AMD processor and at that price. and a basically full plastic build... those low tier lenovos and what not are overpriced as hell for their build quality and specs (talking convertible laptops here)... but yeah, the price is still what's keeping me from pulling the trigger on one of these chuwi laptops... they haven't brought "a really hard to say no" deal yet... the prices seem to keep going up with each release 😕
      guess I waited this far... I can wait to see what's next. kinda hoping they give us something with the higher tier celerons instead of the N5100 all the time, or a core i3 convertible would be great too.

    • @rcpoisond
      @rcpoisond 2 года назад

      @@pxKappa I personally would prefer a full plastic build with a decent IPS touch screen (you probably looked at a different model) to anything with a crap tier N5100. I don't care what material you pack that CPU in. You can encase it in titanium as long as it isn't below 250€ it's not worth it.

    • @pxKappa
      @pxKappa 2 года назад

      @@rcpoisond i aggree lol... i was just saying those models such as the ideapad flex 14 or whatever it's called, which is the closest to this price range, the screens are crap... about 40% ntsc... if the screens were good they would be better, but for an office work and multimedia computer you need a better screen over a better processor imo, and those don't have good screens. that said, i still think, as i said before, that this chuwi is also overpriced.

    The hole punch should have been in the top center. Both Windows and Linux require real estate for menus and folders in the corners. Also center hole punch would be so good for video calls. The battery capacity is just unacceptable in this. Still, Chuwi seem to have come a long way from the garbage stuff I purchased back in 2016. The Freebook seems like the better choice for most people, unless they need that smaller form factor. The problem is though...I just bought a Lenovo laptop on sale for the same amount of money as they want for the Freebook. With a 15" screen/300 nits IPS, 8GB RAM and a Ryzen 5500u CPU. The Freebook makes no sense at this price point. It needs to be at least $150 cheaper to be worth it imho.

      i was considering this laptop because my Asus Transformer T100 was becoming a bit old, but the battery really put me off (my transformer had like 9 hours of battery life). Also, not a fan of the camera. I went for the Lenovo flex 5 (AMD 4500u, 16gb ram), which costs the same and comes with a sylus as well. Chuwi is my favourite brand of these cheap chinese device manufacturers. I'm still using my Chuwi Hi13 that I bought from Chris' recommendation almost 5 years ago, it still holds up, even the battery. Meanwhile my Surface Pro 4 that I bought around the same time has died because the battery is swollen, and it's unfixable because apparently Microsoft thinks it's ok to make overpriced devices that are disposable/unfixable. I replaced it with a M1 Macbook Air - much more expensive (I got it cheaper with the education discount and free Airpods) but much higher quality, and it will hold its value well when it's time to upgrade, whereas an old Chuwi is practically worthless at the used market because no one knows what it is.

    It would be awesome if you could try and run a live version of Linux, just to see if out of the box, there are drivers at least for screen, keyboard, trackpad and wifi!

      From testing a live PopOS usb on a Hi10 Go (basically a slightly cut down version of this thing), everything works except the speakers and autorotate. Rotation can be fixed fairly easily if you adapt a config on GitHub made for an older Chuwi device. Audio seems to be a dead end cuz intel as it seems is not willing to provide drivers for Intel SST

      @@PaperReaper Thank you for your reply!
      I actually am running manjaro, no issues at all, except rotation which doesn't bother me much .
      Kernel 5.19 solves the issue i had with turning it off, and caps lock blinking indefinitely having to force the shutdown every time.

    when will they learn that BATTERY is the number one concern. performance wise i bet anyone looking into this kind of thing is ready to compensate. but without a good battery whats the point of lugging around a small device when you need to bring the charger as well. get it minimum 8 hours CHUWI for your future devices!
