We can see that she died from a broken neck, which is crazy how Basil came up with the staged suicide. He told Sunny to calm down and that it was going to be okay. I think the headspace is a way for Sunny and Basil to cope with what they had done or the fact that they maybe knew that everything was going to fall apart so they kept the group together in their heads. I also think that the parents might have known what happened if the doctor's told them the autopsy because they are the family of the victim. The reason why the father might not be in the picture might be because of the death of Mari and the circumstances. Maybe the mother kept her distance by not being home even though she does talk about the sales. Yeah we also know that Mari probably got mad because Sunny threw his Violin down the stairs the day of the recital and he pushed her to get her away and she died. The reason why Sunny and Basil became shut ins is because of what took place but it seems Basil had it worse with the psychological type stuff. Idk this game and the plot are interesting.
Also if you notice Something is how they view Mari's hanging corpse (guilt) at the time. Sunny's Something has one eye bcs that's how he see it where her eyes can be seen when she was hanged. While Basil probably view it below her which is why his Something looks like her strands of hair
Spoilers In one of the holes created by picking up those Hangman keys, one can find a bleak world where someone is cutting down a tree. The person says, by interacting with them, that Omori/Sunny is no son of theirs. Interacting with them once again will cause the person to wonder why the tree won't fall. Perhaps Sunny's parents (or only one of them and left because of this) truly knew, or this is a metaphor of Sunny being unable to cut down his trauma, but I lean more towards the former theory.
Technically it wasn't THAT Violent consider she only fell down the stairs, but considering it killed her my guess is she was very fragile also what made it violent was how they covered it up

A thing that I find curious is that while everyone stepped forward when Aubrey was feeling sorry for herself, lien/sunny stepped back. What was he feeling? He was probably confused as to why she was acting out so much. Lien/sunny has always need a tiny bit closed about his feelings, and that escalated when Mari died. So, he probably wasn't understanding what was going on or how to make her feel better. Even in the hug, his face said "I don't understand what's happening... But this hug is somewhat enjoyable?"
since sunny has DID, it makes it hard for him to recall what happened. i think of it as he’s confused on how to react because he doesn’t remember what happened to mari. he’s just pleased during the hug because the photos triggered back his good memories in his childhood.
no, i think you're wrong because omori is like, a manifestation of sunnys trauma, or his subconscious, because the reason why headspace gang is forgetting about basil is because omori is trying to block sunny from the truth, trying to protect him from it, maybe this is also the reason why he stabbed headspace basil back at black space but i cant really comment more on this because you may see it as a headcanon, or something similar to that

I think those with black ballerinas and white socks are mari's, and I think the orange ones are kel's, because of the tanned skin color. Aubrey seems like the type to wear sneakers, so I think the red ones are Aubrey's while the brown elegant ones are hero's

Eventually, he found out Basil knew and must've killed him. That's my theory on what happened, it's probably wrong ^^;
The violin was Lien / Sunny's. It is clear from the pictures that Basil was the one who took Mari into the woods and hung her, it appears that Sunny passed out before Basil did this so he wouldn't have known until after the fact.
Actually, it was both of them. They worked together to do this...this is why basil is the suffering this incident too...I saw a picture of lein and a scared basil carrying her in the backyard woods.

He threw his violin because he wanted out of it, as he was angry, sick and tired of the practice, and that greatly upset MARI, which is why she tried to block off SUNNY's path from the stairs, so that she could have an explanation.

I’m playing omori and using this series as a reference if I get lost, and when the photo album part came around when I played, I cried the entire time, after how stressful the black space was for so long, seeing such sweet photos of Mari and everybody just broke me into tears. Whoever’s idea it was to transfer from super stressful black space to really relaxing cute moments is a genius, because it worked so well that I couldn’t stop crying
