I just had an idea, if it's all compatible, placing the biomancy mod in a Spore Infestation modpack. Could give it some lore to the world, the player was working with biomancy, one experiment went wrong, one of the flesh blobs got moldy, and from there the spore infection started.

It is compatible and there is a modpack called fear nightfall which has both mods very carefully intertwined

To get absolutely started on this (pls pin this down so people actually do this so they don't waste useful raw meat) find a village and have a full economy (would recommend the merchant trait (see origins forge and origins classes for merchant trait) and just 4 maxxed out farmers so you can get easy acces to nutrients

you can't except if you enchant it with mending wich is not as wasteful but still a little useless except if you are lazy to get despoil (encantment that just gives you the Plundering Sickle effect without taking a shit ton of durability damange)

oh yeah that also happens to me and to be honest it is pretty annoying to not have a pet but you can also just use a spider eye (just one) for 1 flesh blob

altough it isn't that much i you want to progress as it can be fed just the same so you have extra iving flesh (i recommend using looting or loot piñata (apoteosis weapon trait btw)
