If i had to pick a favourite. It would be the Sculk. It loses in sheer strength, but appears to have an actual strategic AI controlling its behaviour complete with resource management and targeted expansion/attacking. It actually knows Villages are a prime target and seeks them out. Even its method of spreading via a random-walk algorithm is thought out and the graveminds keep chunks active so you can't merely outrun it to halt it. By comparison the Spore mostly has this random scatter form of infection and a shared aggro system. While the thing relies mostly on its random tunneling and long aggro range to get the job done.
It's what makes the Sculk uniquely terrifying to me. It learns, it adapts and it will fight you. It's not just random, it actively fights you. I love it.
spore also has some ai as infected tend to group up and target threats to them and siege them with calamity’s and when no threat is seen for a calamity they drop a flesh mound because the are is deemed safe
I've heard that there's an issue with wardens attacking sculk horde mobs which is why they aren't added Assimilated wardens are planned for From Another World's assimilated sculk though

If and when Scape and Run updates to more recent versions, something tells me it'd just steamroll its competition. Put simply, the parasites are both more numerous than those of the thing, sculk, and fungal infections, _and_ also generally cracked as hell. Like, put an assimilated enderman up against a sculk enderman, and the sculk enderman would be lucky not to die screaming.
Scape and Run is horribly unbalanced (seriously, I get it's supposed to be hard but at least_try_ and balance it.), it's the 40k to everything else's Halo or some other more sensibly made setting.

No matter where I look, there is in Flood mod yet. However if there was. I would think it would be a more cracked version of the sculk horde that prioritizes infection and biomass over all else, using said biomass the spread itself. Then again that is pretty vague as an infection but the way I see it is the sculk horde spreads specifically to gain more biomass, the spore is a much more defensive parasite in which it has very strong mobs though much slower terraforming. The think spreads biomass to infect more things. Honestly if there was a flood mod, it would have the strengths of each of these mod packs with its own weaknesses. Probably a bigger weakness to fire since the flood in the halo games are borderline allergic to fire.

I haven't tested it but I do believe there is a mod for Origins which adds a sculk commander origin which is essentially designed to let the player assist the sculk horde in its conquest.
Personnaly I always dreaming of making an mechanical infection mod, You fuse copper, quartz, redstone and limestone in some ways and you get some singularity machine that you would give ONE singular task, and 3 interditions/preferance, and then it lanch, and do everything possible in the world for making the task, have specials items debloqued with his stage, and can use others mods for accelerating itself, and first stage goes "hey look creator ! I am so happy to finally started your task of [...]" and slowing go into "nothing can stop me, I will do everything to do my task" But still respect the three rules imposed to him

sculk can't transform blocks that need a diamond tools and higher
The Thing might be able to tunnel in if you're unlucky, and spore can infect through walls if mounds are placed nearby

I've messed around with that sculk mod before. Imo, its rate of spread is FAR too quick. It definitely needs a tone down by default.
