This is interesting! But even though it's quite fun to see infection / infected try to solve some problems to see how differently they might behave, I don't think it's close enough to a real situation to be relevant. Also, I'm quite sure that most of it is predetermined by what library a developer use to make the mod for most of the puzzles. And for the TNT one, obviously I highly doubt that any infection mod can detect that kind of system (and for a good reason : it would waste too much game ressources just to take care of a a very rare case). I know this is just for fun, but I still think it can be useful and interesting! The last part with the island for example. It really is interesting because it is able to show how the infection different features might be useful to get to unreachable location. Which is a real case scenario, since player to escape the infection might lock in securated bases or just build flying bases ! So there is still something interesting to that. I would love seing a video with real case. for example, how each of the infection can infect a securated base / laboratory, full of player without getting noticed (in fear that the player will leave the base or exterminate the infection.) I've seen this in one of those "player vs infetion" civilisation simulator thing in minecraft : some parasites from the parasite mod got super interesting by digging underground to breach into the player base ! (even though after that they die pretty easily by just running toward players with weapons and turrets). That's where a new observation case can be done ! how an infected creature can survive when reaching near death ? Most of the infected creature will just...Run toward player and turrets and get killed, some will have interesting feature that can do damage before or after getting killed, but maybe some of them can run away and hide somehow... And this can give modders, developers really interesting ideas to make their mods really more interesting by solving problems in real situation, wich in the end will give us incredible mods to experiments with and super interesting survival scenario !

this is a good general test but maybe a couple run throughs of the same test a couple times over would've helped with validity, maybe the sculk just got very unlucky with it's phantom, or the spore was actually just choosing the honey path out of pure random decision making, and it'd walk on the powder snow

well in the lore the thing did not build a spaceship. they just infected the captain, which is why the ship crashes instead of landing. the mod is based on the movie the thing by john carpenter which is how i got this info.
I think it would have been interesting to see each test done multiple times, also adding a vanilla mob to see how they path find and using a single "base" mob from each mod to run the tests for a more accurate average, also get rid of any rng tests as those are unreliable
Seems that both sculk infection and Sculk mobs are avarage intelligence. Thing mobs are smart but the biome itself is avarage. Spore Mobs are Avarage but the Biome is smart.
