Is there a way to estimate within a reasonable margin Week 16-18 odds of NFL games? I have been focusing on win totals and using a simple binomial as injury is very low risk this late in the season. And if the edge was decent enough I would consider to take it knowing I haven't factored in QB injury. I'm shocked that these analytical sites can have such varying win total odds considering the fact that we already effectively "know" week 14/15 odds based on pinnacle & FD/DK lookahead lines.
Commonly, betting lines are built from a simple formula of: Visitor Power Rating - (Home Team Power Rating + HFA). Then you factor in injuries. QB's have the most impact. Most other players won't impact a line more than 1-1.5 points. A cluster injury of offensive linemen can be damaging though. So if a visitor with a power rating of 2 is playing a home team with a power rating of 4 and the HFA is 1.5, you could project a line on the game of home team -3.5 without any injuries factored in.
