As we look to softer markets, such as the Chinese, Greek or other non-NBA leagues, I am unable to find historical betting lines and spreads. Any idea where one can get this info?

I do pay quarterly estimated taxes, I tend to estimate on the low side though. 1) because this business has a lot of variance, and 2) the penalty for underpaying your estimated taxes is much less than the amount that money would make in even a conservative investment.

Great video.. I have always been horrific at keeping records. And here's a really bad sentence from someone thats been betting HARD since the mid 90s...
Whenever I would keep records and be on top of... my well over 250 betting accounts at my peak.. I felt like I ran bad.. I smh as I type it, but it was just somthing that stuck with me 20 years ago..
It was much easier to win then, and markets were super inefficient and there were multiple regions not following numbers real time..
But for those starting out.. in today's tighter, more efficient industry... high volume, small % ROI is key.. so keeping records like stated here is super important.

    Just another note......
If ur betting cash, and have a good win.. ask for a receipt or keep a photo of ur ticket when collecting..
I'm not American and am a citizen and resident of countries where general windfalls are not taxable..
However, as you cross pollinate your life into other markets, and also the worlds AML laws and cash thresholds in countries get tighter and tighter...
AND... you never know what opportunities may come up where you need to go thru the prospect of a colonoscopy type of financial due diligence, it's always helpful where u can draw on 'evidence', as to how u purchased or accumulated the initial investment for anything..
It also doesn't hurt to keep records all those losing tickets to counteract your wins, or if u live where a % of losses can also be claimed as part of your income streams.

I talked about it in the video I'll link below, and I'll probably make more digestible content about it going forward. Basically, the demarcation for being a professional is that you conduct yourself professionally. Having a profitable business plan, keeping records, segmenting your funds, etc. It's not as glamourous as it may seem, and keep in mind you are also subject to Self Employment taxes which is an extra 15.3% on top of income taxes.

Yep, for the vast majority of people that is sound advice. No regular person with a full time job and a family can devote the amount of time and effort required to actually win money betting on Sports. Most people don't understand variance so they can't cope with losing runs either. The last thing is you need to start with a significant amount of money (at least 20k) to make it worthwhile, and that money has to be entirely disposable - not many recreational bettors have that kind of a stash lying around.

Steve Veasey sports betting is a form of entertainment. Not form of substantive revenue. Whatever you bet, you should be comfortable losing because you won’t see that $$ again. Not only that but betting on sports leads to compulsive gambling & negative health effects (high blood pressure/stress). There’s only one entity that makes $ from sports betting: the Sportsbook

The US in general are in the dark ages in comparison to the U.K. when it comes to sports betting/trading, if I lived in the IS I wouldn’t bet at all the overounds bookies have over there are disgusting and if you’re any good they just ban you and nothing like bet fair in terms of exchanges, complete mugs game and you even have to pay taxes!!! Quit it and move to the UK

Well, everyone needs socks. Not sure where you saw affiliate content or sportsbook sponsors, though?
