- Turkey has a very old and rich folk dancing tradition, which is different from region to region. All dances are colourful, rhythmic and elegant.
A High School Folk Dance Team is performing dances from the Aegean Region (Western Turkey). This perfect dance performance was held in the Beşiktaş Square, Istanbul.
Please take also notice of the traditional costumes and the traditional Turkish dance music.

As a Greek I can definitely say that it looks like my traditional dance.
Greece and Turkey should be friends
We must realise that our only difference is religion
🇬🇷☦️❤️🤝🇹🇷❤️☪️
As a Turkish person who unfortunatly doesnt know much about Greek culture and traditional dance, I wish that our countries could be friends too and I hope to learn more about our cultural and traditional similarities in the future even if our religions are different :)
no this is our thing we did this dance in ottomans but you didnt u were roman sily you stole our food dance culture after the meival times
@@ece055 yes greece stole turkeys things now greece thinks its their
Yes man I agree
yes...we could be friends and good neighbours if the greek and the greek politicians wouldnt try to kick off turkey and turkish peoples from cyprus, from eagean sea, from mediteranen sea....and wouldn't dream from getting back istanbul, wouldnt play the big power against Turkey with supports of EU !! Than everything could be nice ! But now, NO CHANCE ! (BTW: These and other dances are originally TURKISH looks Not like greece ) ...so tell this to the greek politicians (we didnt forget the killed turkish peoples on CYPRUS until 1974..)
It's beautiful the traditional culture in Turkey. I love it 🇹🇷♥️

❤
I'm here because of an Ancestry DNA test 😁this is pretty cool. Next up, the Maasai
what is the results?
Do they have this dance festival every year? I will love to see on my next visit to Istanbul. 🥰
Actually most of Turkish people play theirself dance in important days for example weddings or soldier send-off ceremony. So municipalities do not say about plans far seeing. But due to official holidays in Turkey will be held celebrations in many cities, I recommend that you arrive on official holidays.
@@antiochianius thank you ☺️
Peace to all the nations of the world, humanity belongs to one human race, created by God.

Hocam kanalınızı takip ediyorum da yabancılar için açılmış bir kanal heralde
Değil aslında.. izleyenlerin çoğunluğu Türkiye'den. Ama yorum yazan fazla değil.
The way the woman dance has a slavic feel to it, don't know what it is
@Beyge I know but it looks similar to Slavic dances somewhat
This is Ottoman Culture, Turkish Culture not slavic or other. This shows the influence of Ottoman culture on others.
I can only imagine knee cracks and pops every time they squat...
When you get used to it, it won't hurt.
Are those tourists unable to clap on beat ? That would drive me crazy
Please tell me the dress style name
Zeybek kadın kostümü.
Please name traditional dances of Turkey
-Horon (Pontic Greek-originated dance of Eastern Black Sea Region)
-Zeybek
-Teke Yöresi, Teke Zortlatması

Very different from the rest of Turkic cultures
I think it's because of the Balkan influence
@@rinnieunchanged why there is no Turkish influence on Bulgarian folk music?
@@ogniankamenov481 I don't know lol. I didnt make the rules. İt was merely a guess
@@ogniankamenov481 that’s a lie lol

This looks like military training
Laz are Georgian Colchis a not Turks
