I grew up listening to Jorge Negrete and Pedro Infante records. I lived in a small town that had a very small Mexican population, but there was a theater that showed movies from Mexico once a month. When the movies were played my parents would take my brother and me to see their movies. These 2 men are mentioned in the movie Coco. Many years ago my grandparents had a store where they sold those beautiful skirts. Unfortunately where we lived the Mexican population was very small so there store, La Latina didn’t make it.

I'm half Mexican, my girlfriend is 100. She did this as a child. I am practicing my pansa off to learn this. This will be our Wedding Dance.

What I love about Mexico is that each state has it's own variations of folk dances. My dad is from Iguala, Guerrero and my mom is from Sahuayo, Michoacan. They are both two beautiful places, enriched with Mexican culture. 💚

I'm proud to be Mexican 🇲🇽 I dance this myself for my school Hispanic programs that we have every year, they love it 😍
So proud of my roots.
Seeing them being so happy and care free diluting the dance, making the dance feel like more of a fun activity than something that requires timing the beats, seeing them always having a smile, hearing the beautiful music playing so nice, it just gave me a sense of comfort, rarely had that these days.
I guess world really has a lot of wonders to see, shame I'll never get to see them.
P.s: if you've been having the same plans about seeing the world, and are delaying it even though you can do so fairly easily, please do quick, we all have a certain amount of time in this world, and we'll never know how much, use it as much you can doing new things, no one deserves to be cursed, no one else should be cursed.

When I was a child all the wedding dances were open to the public…it was a small town. I remember sitting and enjoying the music. My uncle was in one of the bands. During the intermission we kids would get out on the dance floor and slide around. Such good memories.
