I dropped "pain" out of the equation many years ago. Street fight with a guy who ate pain like it was candy. Taught me to focus on structural damage that compromised/impeded physical movement.
My sentiments exactly, although these techniques can be tweak to cause that effect. A swelled elbow joint or broken if possible eliminates the effective use of that limb. Ofcourse in a self-defense situation, time is of the essence. You wouldn't want to be trading punches or strikes with anyone!
@@tatumergo3931 This is the comment I was looking for. You're absolutely correct. I'm from the FMA before MMA era. All those motions folks thinks are useless were to train for the snapping. It's where the dislocations and joint destruction to get to the throat were found.
A few years ago I started getting real deep into the applications of original karate. The more I have researched it, the more I have come to the realization that karate was bare-knuckle chancery pugilism. Karate in is true original form is about total limb destruction. It was designed to maim or kill, Ikken Hissatsu!
Panantukan is a real fighting method developed in the Philippines, now whether this particular club does real training or not is another question. Looks like it does though! Remember there's always elbow destruction....
Although pain compliance doesn't really work in the short run, this approach is actually aimed at causing injury. If a strike connects at the right angle it might be able to disable the elbow joint, or at least swelled it up enough to make it inoperable.

U changed my mind. Thanks

Great stuff 👍 Look forward to working on it.
Always great stuff Guro Chuck!
Do they call FMA instructors Guru, or maestro? I think guru is only in penckat silat...
Thanks for showing me those cool flags. Now I’m gonna look them up, cause they’re cool. Truly, it’s up to us!
Great video. Great explanation and training progression.
Very useful. Thanks.
I want to see this in the bare knuckle fighting sports we have now with the taped fists; the one with Rockhold, and Mike Perry.
I don't think it would be allowed. You're going to end up with not too many fighters after a while.
In some of the Japanese martial arts, this is what we refer to "entering the castle".

Cause pain to your opponent it takes their mind off you and puts it on the pain

You shouldn't TROLL just for the sake of trolling....
Why u need to destruct someone else limbs? This is a crime
self defense???
If someone is meaning to do you harm, are you going to be nice about it?
And what's with that French name, are you some sort of bird watcher?
@@tatumergo3931 I thought this video suggested injuring your sparring partner.
This is the name of Rameau's piece - google it if you're interested.
If you don't touch me, I won't destroy you so it's up to the other for FAFO
Is it just a coincidence the wall decor looks both right wing and Satanic?
That's a pirate flag belonging to Edward Teach (Blackbeard).
It does have some satanic elements @@tatumergo3931
