    hi, thank you for awesome video!!! for IR 720/850 conversion, should we add additional 0.5mm shims to the existing ones, or 0.5mm shims should be total (existing+additional=0.5mm). I guess shims goes to place where you are at 11.07-11.21, right? thank you!

    • @RemusLt
      @RemusLt  Год назад

      Yes, additional shims needed. Around 0.4mm or so. Existing (xmm) + additional (0.4mm).

    I want to do it, but only if I have a second Camera.
    I dont want to buy so many ir filters for my optics.

    Did this exactly as you
    Are all images suppose to have a red tint/hue to them now? If not, where did I go wrong

    • @RemusLt
      @RemusLt  7 месяцев назад +1

      This is normal. Now you need to use filters. Or take pics like this just with a custom WB.

    Why did you not replace the shim washers you took out from the mountings for the sensor. wouldn't this effect the focus/tilt of the sensor

    • @RemusLt
      @RemusLt  Год назад +4

      For this conversion the sensor must be shifted to the front. So no shims needed.

      A rubber seal is broken so I put some glue to seal it.

    Is it mecessary to desolder the 2-point contact before removing the filter, or can it be cut? Curious as to the significance of this? Can the part be resold/repurposed?

    • @RemusLt
      @RemusLt  Год назад +1

      You can cut it with scissors. Resale, no, no one needs it.

      @@RemusLt- HEY... me again... soooo I have a problem.. I snipped the cable, removed the filter, reassembled, powered up, and the screen shows a message to bring the camera to a certified technician...
      What have I dont wrong???
      I was extra careful to reassemble all cables properly and cannot recall any step where I may have made a mistake.
      The one thing im not clear on is why some videos say the IR filter must be replaced with a clear piece of glass, and others (like this one) say to just remove and reassemble..
      Any help you can spare would be greatly apprecaite

      @@flojotube I do not know how I can help. Something probably got damaged. You can try to disassemble and assemble it again. This camera is not the easiest to do the conversion.

      @@RemusLt I will try. I just assumed you had come across this error message before since you do so many conversions. Can you explain the sheet of glass versus no glass if possible

    is the viewfinder glass removable? i was planning to dissamble mine because i was cleaning my viewfinder with a swab and i pushed a bit harder as a result, my viewfinder glass is not aligned like its diagonal.
    edit: and some alcohol got inside T_T
